@2020mission don’t worry when I had my scan she was showing me her kidneys, the valves in her heart with the blood going in and out, her brain, everything and I was just nodding like WHAT ON EARTH cos it all looks grey and black and white to me, how they can check it out I don’t know! It’s an amazing skill

The only thing I know is white = dense so it’s none, black =fluid as it’s thin, so when things are varying shades it’s like how thick/dense they are if that makes sense?

They can get you to wiggle around abit to try and get baby to move but as they’re still quite small at 20-21weeks they can tuck themselves away!

It’s so fascinating and don’t be alarmed if you feel abit achy the next day where they’re pressing a little hard. Ours talked us through everything but some do stay quiet so don’t be too alarmed if they don’t say much to start with. Enjoy!!

Hey ladies everything went well, the woman told us it's a boy! 💙 We are in a bit of shock as our nub and skull theory pointed towards girl and we had picked a girl name assuming it was a girl 😂 but we're still thrilled as it's our first baby so we didn't have a preference. Lesson learned for getting ideas in our head before finding out for definite haha. Hope everyone else's went well!

jade0881 · 12/08/2021 14:48

@2020mission awww congratulations hun we are having boys together.. isn't that sweet. Did u get any pics?

@2020mission congratulations on your little boy. Glad the scan went well Smile

JW2021 · 12/08/2021 15:56

Hello ladies!
Saw our little peanut today! All good sex hasn’t changed! Unfortunately he remained face down so they couldn’t check his heart so I get to have another scan in 4 weeks! One thing that was a little concerning was a slightly inflamed tube between the kidneys & bladder - which the Dr said is common with boys 🤷🏼 Any comments would greatly be appreciated

Hello! My first baby is due on Boxing day - eek! It's a boy. Had my 20 week scan on Tuesday, which showed that he's fine but my uterine artery is showing high resistance so I've got to go back for more regular scans. All a bit of a worry :( Has anybody else experienced this? xx

2020mission · 12/08/2021 17:07

@jade0881 not very clear photos but they gave us a foot view and a full body view. I've attached.

@JW2021 a shame you need to go back but at the same time it's nice to have another chance to see him! Try not to worry about the inflamed tube if doctor said it's common I'm sure it will be fine.

JW2021 · 12/08/2021 17:09

I’m guessing you mean baby’s uterine artery? Funny really when you think 30 years ago when my mom had me don’t think she had even one scan with all this technology and information just makes you worry for the next nine months doesn’t it ……well 20 weeks in our case!

Theawkwardblonde · 12/08/2021 18:34

@2020mission congrats on the boy!! Was wondering what you were having. I think I'm the only one on here who hasn't found out 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

burtle4 · 12/08/2021 19:07

Congratulations on all the scans, no experience on either thing that was mentioned @JW2021 and @Jenhen89 but I'm sure they're just being over cautious with both so try not to worry and just look forward to extra chances to see baby!
@Theawkwardblonde we didn't find out with either of my other two and it was lovely to have the reward at the end of labour. This time the kids were desperate to know and I felt like we'd be able to be a bit more prepared as have all the girls and boys stuff in the attic so can start keeping what we need and getting rid of the rest!

jade0881 · 12/08/2021 21:24

@JW2021 aww at least I saw baby. I've not heard of that. This is going to be my first son and they never mentioned that to me. Maybe one of the other ladies who have had boys will know. But I'm glad everything seems well x

Hello, congratulations on baby. I can't comment on what you have asked as I've not had any experience with that. Hopefully not to serious and everything will be fine

@burtle4 that's reassuring to hear you didn't find out with your first two.I keep thinking have we made a parenting error already as loads of people have been shocked we haven't found out 🤦🏼‍♀️

burtle4 · 13/08/2021 13:42

@Theawkwardblonde 😂 definitely not, loads of people don't find out, it's the best thing having the surprise at the end of labour!

Theawkwardblonde · 14/08/2021 22:41

Is anyone having an interesting time with hormones? I've definitely felt more irritable this week to the point I've had a few arguments with DH, which never happens. I'm a very chill person (bar anxiety) usually but I seem to be full of rage this week.
Got angry tonight over a melon and DH humming too much 😂 took myself upstairs at 7pm in a huff/sulk. I'm hoping I'm not the only one with some hellish hormonal swings.

Curlymam88 · 14/08/2021 23:01

@Theawkwardblonde you're deffo not alone, my OH was annoying me earlier because he was breathing so loud. Noises like that annoy me generally but deffo seems worse now im pregnant.
I've been feeling pretty crap today. Really drained, and zoned out. Still not sleeping tidy and have restless legs still and i think its all caught up with me.
How is everyone else doing?

Curlymam88 · 15/08/2021 17:15

Is it too early to start packing my hospital bag? We've been ridiculously organised this time around and we've finished her bedroom now. What do you guys think? I've really enjoyed getting the bits and pieces for it. It's helped to pass the time and keep my mind occupied. Just glad they confirmed still a girl at last weeks scan after painting the room all pink 🤣

@Theawkwardblonde that sounds completely normal although funnily enough I've found my husband has been the one who's been irritable and hormonal this pregnancy and I've been fine 😅 I think you do forget even though the man isn't pregnant he's also got a baby on the way and is feeling all the anxiety and stress that comes with having a baby. I'm sure yours will pass soon but if not don't feel guilty, you are pregnant and it's a lot of change!

@Curlymam88 I've had a lot of restless legs in the last few weeks usually when I'm sitting on the sofa in the evening watching TV. Nothing seems to help other than getting up and walking around the room. I had to get out of bed once at 3am to walk around as it was driving me mad. I did hear it can be a sign of iron deficiency though... I've not had my iron level tested since my 12 week appointment and I'm 20 weeks now. Your nursery looks lovely. I haven't even bought any items yet (other than a baby grow) so you're putting me to shame 😆 I'm just too scared to tempt fate after my losses and the long journey here. We're hoping to move as well before the end of the year so I feel like I can't do up a room here. Baby will be in our room for the first months anyway so I'm trying to keep that in mind so I don't stress.

Curlymam88 · 15/08/2021 17:53

@2020mission I've had restless legs since about week 15, it really is frustrating. I read about the iron but apparently mine was fine when I asked them to redo my bloods. Will keep an eye on ironthough as it did go very low in my previous pregnancy.
Thank you, thats true baby will be in with us for a while. Hope you manage to move and find somewhere lovely to go Smile

jade0881 · 15/08/2021 19:58

@Curlymam88 aww how sweet. Her bedroom looks lovely... to be honest with the hospital bag thing I've been thinking the same thing. Isit to early or not. Lol.. also I was thinking about getting his buggy and etc but I don't know if I should or not xx
