@Sunshine8888 😍

glasspaw · 14/07/2021 17:22

Glad to see some scan results starting to come in! We have one booked next week and I’m nervous but excited.

I’m in week 9 and feeling so exhausted. The nausea is ruling my life a bit and I just feel a bit useless. Even doing basic household tasks is wiping me out. I’m used to being really active so this is a real change in pace for me. Hoping to be through the worst soon.

Sycamore89 · 14/07/2021 17:27

Hi everyone, so great to have found the new thread! Thanks for setting it up.

Glad to hear that everyone is getting on well and great to see some scan pics! I’m 10 weeks now and definitely agree with others that the symptoms seem to be reducing slightly. I haven’t taken a nap in five days!

Sycamore89 · 14/07/2021 17:29

*Although did sleep for 6 hours in the day on Friday… I found week 9 really tough for exhaustion. This whole thing is such a rollercoaster.

Peppercorn2021 · 14/07/2021 18:13

@glasspaw oh god same! Read your comment at just the right time and made me feel a little less mad!

I think I naïvely thought I could 'manage' the first trimester and I'd be bouncing off on summer evening runs, continuing almost as normal at the gym, and doing bits around the house Hmm... oh how I was wrong. Constant nausea and proper exhaustion has now kicked in at 8.5 weeks.

So, just sending some sympathy your way! Smile

Hope2022 · 14/07/2021 18:24

@glasspaw and @Peppercorn2021 the lack of energy and nausea is definitely frustrating at times!
I’m fine as long as I don’t sit down, once I sit down I can’t get back up! 🙈

D'ya know I am STILL brown discharge spotting!
2 weeks today now! Nobody seems concerned though, just 'one of them things some women have' saw the heartbeat so I guess I just have to cope with it?
Don't like it though makes me sad when I see it 😢

LKB89 · 14/07/2021 19:38

@Hope2022 awwww so cute 🥰

I know how you feel. I've been spotting for 5 weeks now so think I've just got used to it! 2 scans in that time and baby growing fine with a heartbeat. I'm 11 weeks now! Sounds like you'll probably just be the same as me.
feb2022 · 14/07/2021 20:24

@Hope2022 ohh how cute!! Proper little baby now 🥰

glasspaw · 14/07/2021 20:33

@Peppercorn2021 I was running 100km+ a month. I’ve managed one 5km and I basically had to sleep for the rest of the day to recover haha. It’s so annoying.

It’s comforting to know others are in a similar position. I definitely go through moments of just wondering if I’m being completely pathetic in comparison to everyone else who has ever been pregnant!

feb2022 · 14/07/2021 20:39

@Peppercorn2021 I'm bloody exhausted too minimal tasks drain me completely of my soul, I honestly sat looking at the hoover today for a good 30 mins just trying to muster up the courage to turn the thing on 😂

choccrumpet · 14/07/2021 20:53

@glasspaw I've been wfh and barely going out and I am exhausted every single day, some worse than others. 4/5pm and I'm done for the day. I've barely done any house chores, cooking etc!

Peppercorn2021 · 14/07/2021 21:12

Eek, it really does sound like lots of us are in the same boat when it comes to the exhaustion, so don't think yourself pathetic at all @glasspaw!

Although must admit I had a bit of a cry earlier because I felt so useless so just need to remind ourselves we're growing humans...!

@sycamore89 mentioned week 10 and things seem to be easing off, so hoping I'm in that camp too in a couple of weeks time...Grin fingers crossed

Has anyone told work yet?

Sycamore89 · 14/07/2021 21:25

@peppercorn2021 Haha I may have posted too soon… it’s now 9.20pm and I’m off to bed (definitely still not back to normal!). I have no idea how people are doing this when you already have small children!

I haven’t told work yet - waiting for 12 week scan. I’d love to tell them though as I feel like I’ve been very unproductive over the last few weeks. Interested to hear what others are doing.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on bras. My current ones are starting to get uncomfortable - when can you start wearing maternity ones? And do you buy them in your non-pregnant size??

Trinacham · 14/07/2021 21:35

@Peppercorn2021 I had to tell work as soon as I found at 4 weeks as I work with harmful chemicals and anaesthetic gases, so they could stop me working with those! Bit annoying that work finds out before family but it's just one of those things with a potentially hazardous job 😒

glasspaw · 14/07/2021 21:44

@Sycamore89 the only one I have which j can bear to put on is an asos microfibre triangle bra. Everything else feels hideous so I’ve ordered a bunch more of those to avoid having to wash my only comfy one most days haha!

I told work pretty early. I have a job where I have to present stuff regularly and I’ve had days where I just can’t do that for a full day so it’s helped having my manager in the know so that they can minimise the amount of stuff that gets put into my diary. Weird that they were the first person I told though!

whistlers · 14/07/2021 21:54

Here's mine 9 weeks and 3 days 🥰

glasspaw · 14/07/2021 21:56

@whistlers oh that’s such a clear image! Bet you’re pleased :) was that from a TVUS or a standard one?

I’ve got a scan on 9+6 so it’s nice to see how clear the picture could be by then!

CNizzle · 14/07/2021 22:15

@Hope2022 @whistlers what lovely clear pictures! This has slightly put my mind at rest for tomorrow's scan.
@Peppercorn2021 I also had to tell my work early... xrays. Very low risk, but patient handling has to be risk-assessed too. It was a bit of a relief to know that my bosses have my back I think.
I'm just glad to be off the on-call rota too!!
I've been off work this week, and having daily naps.. dreading going back. Gonna have to start lunchtime napping!!

Hope2022 · 14/07/2021 22:36

@whistlers lush 😍

@CNizzle thank you 💖

Mamaux · 15/07/2021 06:40

I'm seriously concerned about telling my work. I've not slept for weeks. I got my dream job in May after finishing Uni and found out I was pregnant 2 weeks later. This means I will be 16 weeks when I start 😬 I'm currently meeting my new class and feel I should tell leadership but am scared to death xx

overtherainbo · 15/07/2021 07:14

It's so nice seeing everyone's scans. Eek! I love this little group. Keep sharing them!! I have my next scan Sunday and should be 10+3. Every scan I have I'm sure somethings happened so I'm nervous all over again (I have a haemorrhage ahh)

Peachi82 · 15/07/2021 08:33

I am in hospital for a scan early this afternoon.
Had quite a lot of watery discharge last night. So worried that the little bean has already travelled on. So glad I have this appointment and they can assess me and hopefully give me some reassurance. And if the worst happens, we will deal with it.
