@overtherainbo yesss I would 100% try the therapy, I'm gonna ask my midwife about it also when I speak to her next week... it can only help right?

Trinacham · 04/08/2021 09:37

@Sleepyquest yep I'm second trimester now at 15 weeks and still have not felt pregnant. I guess I do get subtle signs, like slight stretching and growing twinges now and then, but nothing like what other people experienced in their first trimester! No sickness or nausea. I've seen baby 3 times already due as I had one private scan, 1 emergency scan due to bleeding and my dating scan. Still do not feel pregnant 😆 I think it will be more real when I feel kicking

Sleepyquest · 04/08/2021 09:39

Glad it's not just me. I have renewed energy. Have worried the whole way through this one. 14 weeks today. Only seen baby once and got a long wait until the next scan! Can't wait for kicks x

nancynan · 04/08/2021 09:59

@sleepyquest I am 11+6 and I dont look or feel preg. I think its too common so i wouldn't stress too much.

WinsAndNeedles · 04/08/2021 10:06

It's scan day, and I'm brickin' it!
I've cried twice this morning already. I think I'm going to fall apart if things don't go well, I'm just so exhausted from all the sickness.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/08/2021 10:11

@WinsAndNeedles good luck! I felt the same yesterday, was nervous and a bit hyper. Hope all goes well and you get some lovely pics

feb2022 · 04/08/2021 10:12

@WinsAndNeedles ohh exiting!
I'm sure everything will be fine 😘 xx

Sleepyquest · 04/08/2021 11:07

@WinsAndNeedles I barely slept before mine and then woke up with a dodgy belly. Wishing you all the luck in the world and hope you can enjoy it when you get there

Jorun · 04/08/2021 12:18

@Sleepyquest, omg absolutely yes! I feel like my bloat is going away as well! It's causing me a massive amount of stress (our previous experience is not helping with the zen mindset)! I have a private reassurance booked for Saturday. Haven't slept a wink for quite a few days now with stress..

My only few symptoms left are sense of smell (everything stinks, even lavander!) and retching when brushing teeth in the morning.

miracle2022 · 04/08/2021 14:23

Hi all - 10 weeks pregnant, feeling okayish. Have had my fair share of symptoms: nausea, nipple tenderness (not so much the whole breasts), tiredness and fatigue, stomach looking bigger / bloated, food aversions (I couldn't stand non veg, poultry and meat - still can't but trying to eat bits of it), always hungry (snack monster! But trying to eat healthy snacks), developing some spots on my face (due to hormone levels I understand), and just generally feeling mehhh and can't be bothered Foi stuff. I have had cramps some bouts of bad stomach period like cramps which have worried me along with some bleeding of tissue lining whilst placenta has been forming and was told it's nothing to worry about. Have 12 week scan in a couple of weeks. How have you all been feeling? I sometimes have good days and bad days and in the evenings struggle to get comfortable to go to sleep. I haven't experienced any vomiting which I'm happy about but the nausea hasn't been nice at times. How are you all feeling? X

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/08/2021 14:56

@babyD20 my hospital emailed my risk breakdown through and for me it's low PAPP A. Should be 1 mom and mine is 0.48 mom. Just letting you know in case you just got the same 'low risk' and the amount on Badger, but they do have a full report you can request and see.

Hope the scans today have gone well!

CaramelWaferAndTea · 04/08/2021 15:30

@WinsAndNeedles good luck with your scan.

@miracle2022 I'm 10+4 and think I feel very similar to you! Called in sick yesterday and today for the first time in this pregnancy, as although the nausea has eased I just feel so crap and dizzy and tired. Have spent a lot of the last 48 hours in bed either asleep or reading trashy books. DH says I'm much worse than the last pregnancy :(

I need to tell work really what's going on. Has anyone told work yet? After previous losses I'm just so cautious as I know people treat you differently when you're pregnant, but I feel so terrible I'd love to be given a break!

Ahh, I agree re dizziness too and I'm not one to normal feel dizzy. We haven't told anyone yet - just me and my husband know. After Feb's miscarriage (first pregnancy) I'm just too worried so want to get the all clear at the 12 week mark before we tell parents. I think I'll tell work and others around weeks 14/15 once I'm in second trimester. What's everyone's views on timing of announcement, and I don't mean social media or anything like that, but just telling family and friends. I know it can vary widely but would be interesting to know.

MStarG · 04/08/2021 16:18

@miracle2022 we didn't intend to tell anybody until after our12 week scan but ended up telling both sets of parents a couple of weeks ago (I'm 11 weeks now) we had a few family events and I realised how obvious it was I wasn't drinking! We know if anything goes wrong that we'd want their support anyway. However, I haven't told them the date of my scan as I don't want anyone sitting waiting to hear from us in case we need some processing time.
I'll wait to tell siblings and friends after the scan. Even then I'm like should I wait until blood tests are back but I think ill know what I feel comfortable with at the time.

miracle2022 · 04/08/2021 16:39

@MStarG that sounds sensible and agree re whatever you feel comfortable with at the time as we're going through that too right now especially re waiting or not waiting for blood work results.

feb2022 · 04/08/2021 16:53

@MStarG I wasn't going to tell anyone until after the 12 week scan... but my mum came round one day and I was spewing up the whole time she was here... she knew instantly that it wasn't a sickness bug it was the perfume she had on (alien) I usually love alien but it was too much that day 😂😂
She's been telling everyone too! I've told her not too but the excitement gets to her and that's it 😅
We haven't told MIL and her husband yet though!

CNMP · 04/08/2021 16:57

Hey guys 👋🏼 My 12 week scan tomorrow and I’ve actually become mildly excited as well as nervous.
Re telling : due to previous losses, both sets of parents and siblings are aware but all being well tomorrow, the rest of our family will be told 🙏🏼 Not posting anything on social media aside from telling family and close friends 🥰 hope the scans went well today xx

WinsAndNeedles · 04/08/2021 18:07

Thanks ladies. The scan went really well! Baby was a bit of a nightmare because it wouldn't stay still and kept stretching when she was trying to measure. But it was 100% the best scan I've ever had (baby #3), we saw everything, even little fingers and thumbs. DH got a bit emotional, I don't think he actually believed it was happening until he could see a baby on the screen.

They've moved my dates from 11+1 to 12+3, which is a little ahead of where I thought I might be but I'm happy to be a bit further along. New due date 13/02/22

Met my new diabetic consultant and obstetrician, who are both lovely but have set me some ridiculous targets. Back there every 2 weeks for the time being.

I'm exhausted! I definitely need a nap after all that excitement.

becarefuloutthere · 04/08/2021 18:19

@WinsAndNeedles congrats 🥳 dh bday is 13th feb 🙂 enjoy your nap!

We've got our 12 week scan a week day where I'll be 12+1 and I cannot wait! I still feel pregnant so have the faith that everything will be ok! Booked the day off so that we can buy our first baby item 😬

feb2022 · 04/08/2021 18:29

@WinsAndNeedles awww beautiful scan glad everything went well and it was a lovely experience for you both
I can't wait for mine 🥰

Sunshine8888 · 04/08/2021 18:31

Congrats on all the lovely scan pics!

Our photos were free but were told we’d have to pay for the 20 week ones 🤣

I really think I’ve started feeling subtle baby movement at 13+3! I know that sounds crazy but it’s my second baby and I’m sure it’s not just digestion!

I haven’t told work yet and don’t know when to. They’re in such a panic as we are short staffed as it is.. and I’m wfh so no one can see me to suspect.

Sunshine8888 · 04/08/2021 18:33

Oh and I had my first vaccine on Sunday and it’s honestly knocked me for six! I’ve been absolutely exhausted since! Did this happen to anyone else?!

feb2022 · 04/08/2021 18:53

@Sunshine8888 this is baby number 3 and I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and I can feel slight movements already, only when I'm really still and I concentrate on it though so your deffo not crazy haha 😅

jody97xo · 04/08/2021 19:09

Re telling work and family.

I told my mum, siblings, partners parents and sibling at around 6 weeks. My 2 sisters have 7 children between them and my mum has 4 of us, we’re all very close and they would’ve guessed anyway, I was feeling sick a lot and wanted their support and advice so it felt right to tell them!
I told my manager at about 7 weeks, I’d been on annual leave and had been in bed for 2 weeks with HG, so I pretty much felt like I needed to let her know. We have quite a close working relationship and trusted that when I asked her not to let the rest of the team know, she wouldn’t. I let the news filter out at work after my 12 week scan, some people had guessed anyway from me being crazy emotional and being sick a couple of times.

I think it’s all about what you’re comfortable with, there’s no right or wrong answer, tell who you want when you want as long as it feels right for you. I completely understand why anyone would want to wait longer than we did!

WinsAndNeedles · 04/08/2021 19:12

@Sunshine8888 this is #3 here and I was feeling movements at around 10w. I think it gets earlier with each one. I think I read that they start moving at around 9w somewhere. It’s nice and reassuring to feel them though, I love it!
