@WhingyNinja hey! I'm only 1 day ahead of you ☺️
I'm still feeling a bit nauseous but not as bad as I was a few weeks back... that was grim! 🤢
Haha kids are funny little things aren't they!
My DS1 said "mummy has got a big tummy"... I mean he had been watching peppa pig and they were talking about daddy pigs big tummy 😂.... nice to know I resemble daddy pig tho ehh!

Congratulations! Kind of glad it's not just me being likened to a fat pig but it does smart a bitGrin

It's a grim time feeling constantly nauseous isn't it. I've become very averse to many smells and even sights now. There was a bit of food crumb and dust on the floor the other day and I was sick in the kitchen sink just looking at it?! Madness! According to all apps I'm due Feb 25th Smile

My little girl is so excited to be a big sister, she's trying to be helpful around the house to model 'big sister behaviour' but she did tell me the other day if I ever have a baby she's going to 'teach the baby how to be naughty' ...

ChaiTRex · 02/08/2021 17:01

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks for the tip! They did send me to fancy, high-tech ultrasound place for the 12 week scan. The US tech said I could try coming back in a week, but that it was highly unlikely my uterus would “straighten” that fast….

Overall I’m just going a bit nuts that I’m not going to get the data you can expect from the 13 week scan. I phoned my doctor and she said that NIPT was the right way to go in the situation, but I just couldn’t sleep last night, worrying. I know neural tube defects are rare, but it’s just wild to me that they won’t give you blood work from a sequential until round 2 when they don’t get NT measurement…. So there’s basically no way to know?!? Ugh!

SouthwestSis · 02/08/2021 17:32

Phew, finally am 2 weeks out today from having my 2nd covid jab and feeling less anxious already going out and about.

CNMP · 02/08/2021 18:41

Hey Guys, I haven’t bought any maternity bits yet but all being well after my 12 week scan on Thursday I am deffo getting a pregnancy pillow!

My symptoms have certainly lessened, but I’ve also got different symptoms now too. Sickness is really only in a evening for a short period and I do have abit more energy again thankfully. But the metallic taste is certainly rife and I’m totally fussy with food, but I’ve been brutal on myself to eating because I just wasn’t eating before. Maybe that’s why I’m not feeling as sick any more, who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

I often play bump or bloat because I can never tell 😂😂 but in a evening I certainly have a bulge!

Jeffers5 · 02/08/2021 19:19

Can I join?
Due late February according to the app with my first. I’ve got my scan booked for next week, so nervous for it, feel like I can start to get excited after the scan if all is well :)
Not feeling very pregnant as I haven’t had any symptoms really.
How much weight is normal to put on in the first trimester? I’ve been so hungry I’ve been eating loads and I’m worried I’m putting on too much weight too soon.

ChaiTRex · 02/08/2021 19:50

Hi @Jeffers5 in the US they say about 5 lbs in the first trimester is good! I went and gained a bit of weight before this pregnancy so now they said not to gain in the first trimester… still got about a pound though, ha!

ChaiTRex · 02/08/2021 19:51

@Jeffers5 and congratulations! Good luck with your first scan :)

CaramelWaferAndTea · 02/08/2021 21:06

@babyD20 had my hair coloured today 😄 really pleased about it. Don’t really understand how it would go to the baby and did it several times in last pregnancy - go for it?

@Jeffers5 I worried a lot about weight gain last pregnancy - read that normal is 0.5-1kg a month, so have tried to stick to that, although have so far lost weight this time as been quite sick.

@CNMP I am definitely buying a pregnancy pillow after last time making do with a million pillows and in the end just regretting it. Anyone have any recommendations for good ones?

Terri2022 · 02/08/2021 21:29

@Jeffers5 I feel the same. I haven't had any sickness just hunger and tiredness. Weight just seems to be piling on everywhere, i feel huge, can't fit in any underwear or clothes, I've always been a consistent weight and never had to watch my diet. I had ivf and the hormones did make me bloat bad around my stomach so I look more like 5 months pregnant but wasn't expecting the back fat or stone weight gain! 😭I'm still walking my doberman 5 miles a day too!

feb2022 · 03/08/2021 09:14

Morning everyone! How are you all this morning?
I finally got my booking appointment through... a week on Thursday when I'll be 12 weeks so hopefully not long to wait for my scan after that ☺️
I'm feeling very nauseous this morning and very tired! And I've got back pain, I really suffered with my back last time and it's starting early so I'm not looking forward to it this time around with 2 munchkins in tow 😅

Peachi82 · 03/08/2021 10:20

Ah, I'm glad you got at least your booking appointment through and hopefully the scan will just be a couple of days later!

I'm OK, I have better and worse days with the sickness. I tried the cyclizine tablets, they take the nausea away, but don't stop the vomiting and make me so so so tired. I've just taken one when needed, don't think I can take 3 a day as prescribed.
I'm very nervous with the upcoming scan on Friday. I hope everything is OK. We have now decided against nuchal fold measurement and blood test and see whether we have to take any action after the organ screening at 20 weeks. That's what we did with our son and the decision always felt right.

Hope everyone is well in February land :-)

Is anyone interested to open/join a Facebook group? Or do we want to stay on mumsnet?

overtherainbo · 03/08/2021 10:21

@feb2022 good morning, I'm glad you're finally sorted. It's took so long!!

I have my 12 week scan today and I'm not excited at all, I'm 99.9% sure something is wrong🤢

feb2022 · 03/08/2021 10:26

@Peachi82 the sickness & exhaustion is debilitating isn't it!
My house is a mess and usually I'm on top form when it comes to housework but it's 1 step forward and 5 steps back these days, my 2.5 year old decided he was gonna scribble on my tv unit yesterday with crayon, I get the wipes as you do and he was following me with more crayons and then started on the walls 😂... good job he's bloody cute let me tell ya!
19 month old loves to tip every toy he owns all over the floor 6 million times a day also!
It's good fun!! 😂

feb2022 · 03/08/2021 10:30

@overtherainbo it's taken the piss if I'm honest (pardon my french)
Luckily it's done over the phone so I'll have to make sure the boys have all the snacks and distractions to give me a solid hour on the phone with minimal tantrums 😅
Ohh good luck for your scan!! What time is it?
Try not to worry, I remember with both of my two my anxiety levels sky rocketed before every scan, even the private ones!
Do you suffer with anxiety anyway if you don't mind me asking?
I know I do!! I'm really REALLY bad with mine x

overtherainbo · 03/08/2021 10:35

@feb2022 it has. It's a good job they sorted it in time to get the scan too. I hope you got a apology!!

Yes. I used to go to therapy (mind/ harbour). I'm anxious about daily life haha! After suffering a missed miscarriage previously I celebrate every milestone but I've got it in my head that something will be wrong now.. either no heartbeat or something with baby's health. I've wound myself up so much I've been throwing up🙈

overtherainbo · 03/08/2021 10:38

Oh I forgot to say. My scan is 2pm this afternoon. Then I have to go to see a consultant straight after?

feb2022 · 03/08/2021 10:42

@overtherainbo ohh no!
Anxiety is the worst of the worst! I was on anti anxiety meds but I've not taken them since I found out I'm pregnant and honestly I worry about the most trivial things (obviously not so trivial to someone that has anxiety)
Currently sat worrying about a parcel that's being delivered today 😅
But I totally understand what it's like so never feel like your alone in this I'm always around if you need to talk

feb2022 · 03/08/2021 10:43

@overtherainbo ohh 2pm! Just try and keep busy before you go hopefully the time passes quickly

overtherainbo · 03/08/2021 10:48

@feb2022 oh my god I'm exactly the same. I worry about the smallest of things. My partner tells me to chill out and stop worrying but I physically can't🙈

feb2022 · 03/08/2021 10:50

@overtherainbo haha they just don't understand do they!
I'm like I can't just switch it off 😂
I mean I wish I could but it doesn't work like that haha

overtherainbo · 03/08/2021 10:56

@feb2022 I know haha. Making phone calls I have to write it all down, even my information like name and dob incase I forget then scribble. It's a big thing for me. And appointments too, coming up with answers I may be asked just incase😂

feb2022 · 03/08/2021 11:01

@overtherainbo haha we sound like 2 peas in a pod!
I'm exactly the same! 😂😂

becarefuloutthere · 03/08/2021 11:02

@overtherainbo good luck for this afternoon! 🤞🏾
@Peachi82 I'd be up for a fb group!

Peachi82 · 03/08/2021 11:16

Overtherainbo, good luck with your scan this afternoon! All fingers crossed here for you!

Feb2022, I didn't know your other 2 were still so little. You must be exhausted. My son is a threenager which is a challenge in itself.

Do you all have to pay for the scan pictures? I've just read the letter again and it says £3 per picture. So I'll need to scrap some coins together now, we have been living kind of cashless since the start of the pandemic.
I was hoping they've stopped charging a fee due to the pandemic, but seems they have restored it now. Meh. Car parking charges are back as well. Sighs.

FB group : we can see how many are interested and then we can set it up? It's just easier to share pictures, etc.
