Came back from hospital today. I was told I have IIH which is pressure on my brain caused by excessive fluid. Told my pregnancy may have caused it and to keep a eye on my blood pressure. It should go in time though.

Also, finally 12 weeks today. After previous losses I was so nervous. My scan is next Tuesday and it can't come quick enough now. Baby names already picked. I can't wait to go buy his/her cot 😍

decafforme · 29/07/2021 20:21

Hi @feb2022 yes I had it last week. Baby was looking perfect :) have you had yours?

Peachi82 · 29/07/2021 20:32

Welcome to all the new names!
Wonderful to read about happy 12 weeks scans!

I am muddling through. Sickness was better yesterday, I managed to do a supermarket shop and cleaned the bathroom while my son was in the tub.
Picked up the prescribed cyclizine today, but will wait for a bad day to try it (hopefully when my boyfriend is home as well) as I'm worried about the side effects.
11 weeks tomorrow, I'm pretty nervous. Nervous and I'm still kind of detached from the pregnancy. I've told a few close friends as they helped me a lot after the pregnancy loss earlier this year. And one of them means really well I guess, but she wouldn't shut up about me having a baby soon and how I look glowing. Phew. I just don't feel it. And I'm not connected to all this yet.

Anyway, off to bed soon. The little monkey is still singing upstairs, I hope he sleeps soon, so I can go to bed next to him.

Hey All!

I’m climbing the walls waiting for CVS results. I had my 12 week scan last Thursday (due Feb 4th) and they found high NT of 3.9. I was referred and had an in depth scan on Monday (NT now normal and 2.8!) and got my CVS test. They said I would find out within 3 working days and I barely slept last night waiting for the phone call today. It never came and I called up and they’re still waiting for the lab to send my results in. This is my first baby and I never envisioned this much worry so early on.
Anyway hope everyone is doing ok and fingers crossed I get a good result tomorrow 🙏🙏🙏 xx

Rmw99 · 29/07/2021 20:45

Ahh lovely scan pics 🥰

@Charlotte5190 bless you, mine was 2.5mm so under 3.5mm and I'm panicking about that as the sonographer seemed a bit flappy about it all so I dunno what to think. But thags positive yours came back at 2.8mm hopefully you get your results back soon x

Jordanx · 29/07/2021 20:54

@jody97xo thank you! Xx

Oh my god I had my 12 week scan and it was a nightmare.

So apparently I have a “tilted” uterus which I’ve heard before, but have always heard it’s not an issue for pregnancy. Apparently it IS an issue for first trimester ultrasounds though!

Between that and baby refusing to cooperate, we were not able to get a measurement for nuchal translucency. The ultrasound tech said that even though she couldn’t get a measurement, everything looked normal and healthy to her. They just can’t do the regular sequential analysis without that measurement.

Then they gave me the option of doing the sequential with ONLY the bloodwork, or NIPT. If I did the sequential blood work, I would not get any results back until results came back from further tests a month later.
I opted for NIPT but because I’m in the US, I’m dreading what the cost might be.

Happens in 7% of 12 week scans, apparently. Guess I’m just special!

@ChaiTRex
I have a tilted uterus. It should eventually tip the right way. Im up about 3 times in the night for a wee .... exhausted!

Rmw99 · 30/07/2021 08:19

@jody97xo we have the same due date 🥰

Tilted uterus here too (mines retroverted). Bizarrely the NHS has mentioned it as a scanning issue in this pregnancy and previous (that didn't work out) but the private scans have had no issue with it at all. Don't know if the equipment is better in the private scans 🤷‍♀️ but could be an option to call and ask - they do NT measurements also

@ChaiTRex see you're in the US sorry so probably doesn't apply! Good luck with the nipt!

Hope2022 · 30/07/2021 09:49

Morning ladies!
Hope you’re all well!!

All is good at 12 week scan!! 😍
Measuring 12+2!
Just waiting for bloods etc!

I felt so awful this morning, super stressed and anxious but now I can relax and start to enjoy this!!
I know there were a few other 12 week scans going on today so hope they’re all going well too!

Looks like 🌈 baby is on the way! 😍

becarefuloutthere · 30/07/2021 09:51

Terri2022 · 30/07/2021 13:12

Hi all
I am due with our first baby in February which was through ivf which miraculously worked first time. I'm going for my 12week scan in 2 weeks and I also have a retorverted uterus so useful to hear in advance about issues with scans

Sunshine8888 · 30/07/2021 13:22

@ChaiTRex ahh I had a tilted uterus too at 6.5 week scan but when I had a further scan at 10.5 weeks it had tipped forward which is apparently the perfect angle for 12 week scan so just keeping my 🤞🏻 all goes ok tomorrow.

Is anyone else experiencing the sorest boobs?! I actually get stabs of pain and it hurts to lie on them! Doesn’t help that my 15 month old likes to jump on me and sit on / climb all over me 🤦🏽‍♀️

babyD20 · 30/07/2021 13:27

Has anyone done any research on the nub theory. I'd be interested if you can see my little ones nub or if you think it's a boy or girl Smile
THANK YOU!!

@babyD20 aww lovely! I used someone on Facebook- she has had so many correct ones. She's told me I'm having a boy, can't wait to confirm! Xx

Do you mind me asking who you used? :) x

ChaiTRex · 30/07/2021 15:52

@Sunshine8888 good luck at your scan! The tech did mention to me that it won’t be an issue on I’m further along.
Boobs are in agony over here.
