@ChaiTRex I've heard mixed reviews about sneak peak I was looking at ordering a test this week but talked myself out of it 😂😂 x

feb2022 · 21/07/2021 17:43

@ChaiTRex I'm very exited to see your result though!
I think it's the blood that would put me off 😅 I'm a bit of a wimp

ChaiTRex · 21/07/2021 17:49

@feb2022 ugh I gotta say so far it’s not great! I emailed them about ten minutes after placing my orders to see if I could upgrade to the arm version (easier to get all the blood you need and reduced risk of male DNA contamination) and I just got a shipping notification lol so I guess I’m doing Ye Olde Fingerstick.

feb2022 · 21/07/2021 17:51

@ChaiTRex haha ohh noo! It's always the way isn't it!
Ohhh I'm really exited for you!
I might order one... I'm undecided 😅
My boys have just cost me bloody £120 on football kits so probably next week instead

Hope2022 · 21/07/2021 20:19

@ChaiTRex @feb2022 I’m keen to find out ASAP!! 😁 I have ALL girl stuff so I’ll need to budget and buy if it’s a boy 😂😂😂

feb2022 · 21/07/2021 21:46

@Hope2022 haha I have all boy stuff 😂😂

Hi,

I was just wondering if people in this thread have had their Covid vaccinations? I had my first Pfizer jab when I didn’t know I was pregnant (around 4weeks) and my second is booked for when I will be just over 12 weeks. I’ve heard quite a few people have had reactions to their second does of the Pfizer jab, and wanted to know what pregnant peoples views/thoughts are?

Jane7891 · 22/07/2021 07:47

Hey @SR092, I’m basically in the same position as you 😊 I’m still planning on having my 2nd Pfizer as long as my midwife doesn’t suggest otherwise!

I've had my first dose and will be getting my second when I'm about 17 weeks pregnant.

Actual covid is harmful to mother and baby but the vaccine isn't. For me it's a no brainer.

Can't wait to be fully protected!

SR092 · 22/07/2021 08:13

Thanks for the replies it’s hard to know with so much conflicting advice, my midwife has recommend getting it but I’ve seen others recommend waiting and it’s hard to know what to believe on the internet!

feb2022 · 22/07/2021 08:23

@SR092 I've not had my first dose yet, but I will after I hit about 12 weeks, my best friend caught covid during her pregnancy and the baby stopped growing from 30 weeks so she was admitted to hospital and induced at 35 weeks... they didn't know if it was covid related or just one of them things but she's adamant it was covid that caused it

whistlers · 22/07/2021 08:40

This is the advice I took.

choccrumpet · 22/07/2021 08:58

@SR092 got my first Pfizer vaccine around 3-4 weeks pregnant and will be getting my second around 11 weeks pregnant. Both GP & midwife encouraging it. I didn't feel great after my first so hoping my second will be fine 🤣

whistlers · 22/07/2021 09:09

I couldn't tell what was pregnancy symptoms and what was vaccine side affects. Bad timing because I had my sister over for two nights!

choccrumpet · 22/07/2021 09:23

@whistlers I felt the same but I'm putting it down to side effects, I had such bad nausea that then went away ( to be replaced with real nausea some time later). I just felt a bit icky like I was about to come down with something but it was nothing major

whistlers · 22/07/2021 09:44

I'm of the opinion that the side affects are worth it. Better than getting the proper live virus.

Hopefully won't be too bad, I have a 3.5 year old 😫

feb2022 · 22/07/2021 11:31

My nausea is horrible today!
The heat is making me feel even more sick, I've just spewed in the sink (classy) it just happened out of nowhere 🤢
Just feel 100% HORRID!!

Peachi82 · 22/07/2021 11:57

I was also sick this morning and the nausea has ramped up. Meh.
Took little one to the park this morning when it was still relatively cool. But I felt so rough.

I am 10 weeks tomorrow. Can't believe it.

Hope2022 · 22/07/2021 12:49

Ladies, I really don’t know what to do about getting my second vaccine! I will have it eventually, I just don’t know when to have it! At the moment I feel a little anxious about 12 week scan and the thought of putting something in my body doesn’t feel right so me at the moment. On the flip side, with the cases rising and avoiding covid becoming impossible I’m worried about the impact that will have on my health and a developing baby.. Arghhh!! Adulting is so bliming tough sometimes!

I didn’t feel great after my first jab and I’m not really prepared to feel awful on top of first trimester symptoms 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m on my own a lot with my little one (Hubby works away) and in this heat I worry I’d be a mess! 😱

whistlers · 22/07/2021 12:51

Sooner rather than later for me and all the evidence suggests there's no need to wait for second trimester.

Sleepyquest · 22/07/2021 12:57

I have first scan tomorrow and first vaccine on Tuesday. Really anxious about the vaccine but have to take comfort in the fact that it seems the majority of preggos are having it

becarefuloutthere · 22/07/2021 13:09

@Hope2022 I feel the same as you. I was supposed to have my second a couple weeks ago and I cancelled it. I'm gonna wait and see how I feel in the 2nd trimester and decide again then. I hate thinking about what to do for the best, it's really hard! Confused

SR092 · 22/07/2021 13:22

That’s how I feel, although I have just had my scan date through for the 9th and my vaccine is the 10th, so providing the scan goes well I think I will just get it. I didn’t have any side effects from the first one, but know a lot that didn’t then did with their second!
Hope2022 · 22/07/2021 13:52

Thanks for feedback ladies!
I’m almost more worried about being pregnant and having a baby now than I would have been a year ago.. Atleast in lockdown did feel safe, now everything’s opening up it makes me nervous.. if I wasn’t pregnant I’d probably be happy to just get on with it.. it’s been a long year hasn’t it!
