I’ve found taking pregnacare at night or after dinner when I know I’m going to sit down for half hour seems to be ok, I used to take them in the day Bcos that wasn’t working well for me.

I’m 10+1 today (according to recent scan) and have found the nausea is getting better. I found until a day or two ago I was nauseous all day long but last few days it’s almost disappeared but I’ve had a few episodes of wretching.. I’ve been a little naughty last day or two and not had the healthiest of food 🙈

@overtherainbo I’ve had v painful wind too! It’s definitely peaked week 8-9 and seems to have relieved a little.. but I’m less bloated today so think it’s all linked for me 🙈

I have to have a glass of milk before bed nowadays to stop the heart burn, I suffered really bad with acid reflux in first pregnancy, hope the milk keeps working for a while 🤞🏻

Really? I thought milk makes heartburn worse?!

The only thing that worked for my heartburn last time was milk of magnesia - disgusting! I used to be awake at night chugging straight from the bottle 🤣

overtherainbo · 16/07/2021 11:28

@Hope2022 I'm also 10+1 according to a recent scan. I can't wait for things to calm down haha. I've got another scan on Sunday so I'm hoping everything is okay. I always get really nervous thinking somethings happened between 😓

Hope2022 · 16/07/2021 11:39

@overtherainbo I know what you mean! I have my nhs 12 week scan 2 weeks today and worry it’ll be a long 2 weeks!!
With the kids home From Monday I don’t think I’ll be able to fit a private one in 😱

whistlers · 16/07/2021 11:50

Oh my god the best drink: half pineapple juice and half fever tree Mexican lime soda. Amazing

whistlers · 16/07/2021 11:51

Today is quite a happy day, I'm 10 weeks today and can therefore stop some medications! Feels like a big deal because it's been very intense since the 28th May, 3/4 injections a day, 3 pessaries and 10 tablets!

I'll keep the pessaries and a small amount of tablets for another two weeks and then a smaller amount still until 14 weeks.

Feels good.

overtherainbo · 16/07/2021 11:56

@Hope2022 my 12 week scan is 3rd July so a few days after yours. It's the longest wait ever.

I think I'll be able to breathe a little once that one comes (hopefully)😅

GiniM · 16/07/2021 12:04

Hello everyone!
I just found mumsnet and am really happy about it. I don't know many people where I live (and even fewer women and even fewer pregnant women!).

I at 11 weeks now and I am nauseous non-stop from morning to evening. Last time I wasn't feeling terrible was many, many weeks ago. This definitely wasn't on any brochures Wink .

Cannot wait for my 12 week scan - 1 long week to go! (I was too nervous, so I paid for a private one at 8 weeks).

Anyway, hi to everone and I hope you are getting throught the first trimester okay!

Sunshine8888 · 16/07/2021 13:08

I’m taking pregnacare at night too, seems ok. Although really struggling to get to sleep, tossing and turning for hours, so frustrating!

Can’t eat anything green, it’s all sugar and carbs. Feel so unhealthy but don’t seem to be gaining weight, infact I’m less now than I was two weeks ago (weighing weekly out of interest more than anything)! I’m sure that will change - weeks 10-13 there is a huge growth spurt so expecting to balloon (second baby and already showing whereas with my first I didn’t really show until well after 20 weeks)

Sunshine8888 · 16/07/2021 13:09

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you for sharing that about the vaccine - really reassuring. X

Quick update. I phoned my gp, she's signed me off work for 2 weeks & gave me the EPU number. I've got an appointment with them on Monday. The midwife was lovely, very matter of fact... said hope for best but prepare for the worst. I'll get an internal scan etc. Feeling a bit better & s lot calmer that something is being done. I can hold out til monday I'm sure.
I've got zero symptoms now apart from v v mild cramping every now & again.

Well done, you've really done the right thing.

Two weeks wait would have been cruel.

I really hope you get positive news Thanks

Peachi82 · 16/07/2021 14:38

CNizzle, I'm glad you are getting seen soon. There should always be capacity to see women in your situation relatively quickly.

choccrumpet · 16/07/2021 14:48

@CNizzle best of luck for your appointment, it'll be a relief to not have to wait so long! And hopefully everything works out.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that's brilliant, thanks for sharing!

IloveGod2 · 16/07/2021 16:55

@GiniM hiya. Yea same. Just gone 11 weeks. Still nausea and spitting alot. So weird cos I've started to feel flutters today. When is ur 12 wk scan. Mines in in 2 weeks

WinsAndNeedles · 16/07/2021 17:57

Had my booking appointment today. They've put me down as 8+4 but I think I'm nearly a week ahead of that.

I had to go to the maternity hospital for it. Apparently I'm the first patient to be trialling a new system where their care is all done by the diabetic midwife and consultant. We usually have a community midwife as well but they don't usually have a clue what to do with us, so it makes sense to do it all in clinic. They've told me to expect to be there every week until delivery at 38w latest. Also getting loads of extra scans after the midterm one and a fetal ecg.

Blood tests were a nightmare. I was seriously ill a couple of years ago and the medication destroyed my veins. I ended up with 2 phlebotomists and eventually a cannula in my knuckle to get a tiny trickle of blood out. It took forever to fill 6 vials! Back on Tuesday for my next appointment, I guess this is really happening!

Sycamore89 · 16/07/2021 18:06

@CNizzle - thinking of you and hope all goes well. Glad you were able to get an appointment on Monday.

The waiting for the 12 week scan is making me anxious. I had a scan at 7+1 and all looked good. But I am feeling a lot fewer symptoms this week and (stupidly) did a pregnancy test as I wanted to see a nice, reassuring dark line. It was definitely not as dark as few weeks ago… I’m hoping that this is something that just happens as your homones readjust towards the end of the first trimester, and I’ve read that the poas tests get less accurate as you go on. Also that, if anything is wrong, I guess you would likely still get a positive result.

Going to go for a walk and try to stop sitting on Google. I know this is a worrying time for everyone - it’s nice to have this group here.

Google 'hook effect' if you haven't already

Sycamore89 · 16/07/2021 19:32

Ah thanks so much @whistlers! Very reassuring!

whistlers · 16/07/2021 19:43

💕

whistlers · 16/07/2021 20:00

Just had to move all my bedside table books out of my room because I can smell them and it's making me feel sick

GiniM · 16/07/2021 21:02

@IloveGod2 i feel ya! I'm just returning from the bathroom after another unsuccessful dinner .. I feel this nausea thing is just getting worse. I never before had to force myself to eat!

I'm also in week 11 now. My scan is in a week .. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also very nervous. I had some nasty cramps today, but I'm trying not to get too scared...

Skybooks · 16/07/2021 21:35

I've got another reassurance scan tomorrow, really hoping baby is measuring 10w. My MMC baby stopped at 9w5d so I have that mental block to get over. Really need to see that heartbeat again.

I still feel tired and nauseous but not as much, I've never lost symptoms with MMC so cant even be reassured by that.

ItsMeantToBe · 17/07/2021 08:49

Morning,

I haven't posted for ages! Hope everyone is ok. I'm 9+2 and had a few scans, which look good! Still feeling nauseous most of the day and off most food. I feel like I've already got a big of a bump?? It's definitely higher and more defined than my usual belly. This is my second child so probably muscle memory.

@Skybooks good luck with your scan today! 🤞

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/07/2021 10:35

@choccrumpet the coffee really worked, I'm going to have to have some every day even if I don't fancy it 😂
