@Hope2022 @miniGmummy it was amazing. I'm never turning down more scans ❤️

overtherainbo · 15/07/2021 15:51

I've took two tests this week and both negative.
I have had both jabs luckily, my last one being the end of may, and I'm so careful with masks, sanitising and generally not going out haha.

So it baffles me even more how I've picked anything up. I haven't ate a proper meal in days but luckily still drink 3litres because I feel so dehydrated

Peachi82 · 15/07/2021 15:56

Overtherainbo, yes, they gave me a picture. It looks very blob like. But it did a bit of wriggling with its hands and tiny feet on the ultrasound.

A friend of mine just got diagnosed with delta despite being double jabbed. And it wasn't only mild symptoms :-( Makes me loose some hope and I will stay more careful than ever. I really don't want to catch it. :-(

overtherainbo · 15/07/2021 15:59

Oh gosh really. I'm so so careful but obviously not careful enough to still catch this nasty bug

CNizzle · 15/07/2021 16:23

Back from my early scan... there's a fetal pole but
no heartbeat ("yet" she said) only measuring 6+ weeks. I had calculated 8+3. The sac/fetal pole measured the same gestation & the sonographer was lovely, explaining I might have dates mixed up (I dont) or that once fertilised the egg can take up to 2 weeks to implant? ? Hence being behind. Has anyone heard this before.
I've got a rescan booked for 2 weeks time but feeling very despondent Bout the whole situation.
The sonographer was lovely, very positive about what she could see, but the date mismatch is making me so so nervous.

overtherainbo · 15/07/2021 16:33

@CNizzle I was behind by around a week on my first scan, second scan I was another day up and the third I was 2 more days up. It sort of equals out now

whistlers · 15/07/2021 16:50

Can you go back in a week? A two week wait is just too long (I've been in this position and it's too long for me)
CNizzle · 15/07/2021 17:07

Thanks @overtherainbo. That's kinda what she hinted at. But I can't shake the worry. Dr Google is also not helping.

@whistlers I don't think so. They offer a free rescan after 2 weeks, but no earlier. She did say to contact midwife if I had further concerns. Over the next wee while.
I just know we've waited so long for this, and I was hoping for a bit of positive news this week. Going to stay with my mum next week and will be scattering my dad's ashes finally (he passed 2 years ago, but we were unable to so it due to covid). It was the perfect time to give her some good news. Now I'll not be getting the scan til I'm back.

My dh has been great and is trying to be so positive too. He was just delighted there was something at all on the scene!
This is a great wee group. Thanks ladies xx

whistlers · 15/07/2021 18:00

IF it was me, I would pay for scan in a week's time, or go to the EUAU if you didn't want to pay.

I wish that's what I would have done when I was in similar circs last time

Peachi82 · 15/07/2021 18:22

I was seen with similar diagnosis (plus bleeding) again a week later by EPU as they said a week is enough to see progress in the pregnancy.
Two weeks is just too long.

feb2022 · 15/07/2021 21:33

@whistlers I'm the same I think I've got a bug or a cold, my boys are the same my oldest has been off nursery all week with a cough and just general unwellness, the little brother is starting to come down with it also, I'll get rid of it and they will just keep passing it back to me 😅
Bloody nightmare 😂

feb2022 · 15/07/2021 21:36

@CNizzle the sonographer sounds very positive about it, I bet they see it quite frequently, I'm sure if she thought it was anything to worry about she would have mentioned it to you?
But I would maybe try and get a scan a little earlier, probably easier said then done I know Xx

SR092 · 16/07/2021 04:59

Anybody struggling with not being able to sleep? Keep waking up around 4am and can’t get back to sleep Sad

Hope2022 · 16/07/2021 06:26

@SR092 yes definitely having trouble sleeping! It doesn’t matter what time I go to bed, I find myself tossing and turning all night!

And I’ve decided o hate the heat this week!! I used to love it but now I just get really hot and bothered and feel drained 😩

Peachi82 · 16/07/2021 08:01

Pregnacare can go and do one.
I had such a nice healthy home cooked meal last night that I proper enjoyed. Decided I can risk taking the pregnacare and spewed everything out 5 minutes later. Thanks for nothing.
I'll stop taking them as they kind of defeat their purpose when all I can eat after is some dry bread.

My sleep is interrupted as well... Often awake and then I'm too warm or too cold or I have my toddler's feet in my face or my other half makes weird noises.

overtherainbo · 16/07/2021 08:06

@SR092
I'm up all through the night, especially to switch positions or pee.

@Peachi82
The best pregnancy tablet I have took is Tesco's pregnancy support. They never made me sick but the size made me gag.

Does anyone else get really painful gas😂

WinsAndNeedles · 16/07/2021 08:07

Urgh! It's too hot already today. I don't think I'm going to enjoying the sun at all.

Sleepyquest · 16/07/2021 08:55

It's interesting that others vom after pregnacare too!
Yes I get painful gas, real bad bloating and constipation Sad feel like things are easing though. One week to go to my scan yippee!

SR092 · 16/07/2021 09:46

Yep it’s the 4am wake up to pee, then just can’t get back to sleep for nothing! Glad I’m not the only one.

I’m on the pregnacare tablets but haven’t found an issue with them, the omega one leave a bad after taste but I generally take them at night just before bed.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/07/2021 09:50

The constipation has been awful for me, I honestly cried for two hours the other day it was so painful. I'm drinking orange with bits, eating dates, weetabix, whole grains, warm water, loads of fruit and veg and it's not helping. Anyone have any other tips?

choccrumpet · 16/07/2021 09:56

I'm taking pregnacare and have had no issues with it so far, although my nausea seems to be stepping up a bit today so will see how I get on with it. I normally take it after lunch and feel okay afterwards.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that sounds awful, pistachios and cashews have fibre in them too. Can you take any medication for it? Coffee normally makes me go, have you tried drinking some, if you can stomach it, and see if it helps?

overtherainbo · 16/07/2021 09:58

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 lots and lots of water. I drink 3 litres a day now. I was so constipated at the start, it hasn't stopped the painful gas though 🤢

Pineapple
whistlers · 16/07/2021 10:35

Pregnacare are fine for me too but I find I'm gagging when swallowing any tablets and have normally have that issue. I take pregnacare just before bed which works well for me

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/07/2021 10:44

Okay I'll get some pineapple and have a coffee 😁 thanks ladies! I do eat nuts also, maybe I need more.

I don't know if this is helpful, but my friend is on a trial for pregnant women that had the vaccine (she had it in 3rd trimester). She asked them for me at her latest appointment and said so far there's been no negative impact for the babies, and in fact the vaccine has given them antibodies.
