Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hope everyone is feeling well in these early days xx

@ShrimpingViolet me too, one min so hot I can barely stand clothing on me and then next wrapped in a blanket 🙄

I seem to have the most disgusting taste in my mouth today which I can mainly taste when I cough (not Covid). I know they say you get a metallic taste in your mouth when you're pregnant but I'm not sure what this is like just tastes rancid 🤢. Ive cleaned my teeth about five times already

KayL1988 · 01/07/2021 15:05

@intheheights oh my god yes definitely! My first too so I keep googling everything. I just no idea where my body or hormones are at! I felt so emotional on a work call before I nearly cried. Literally no good reason, someone just agreed with me! 😂 Now I feel fine just shattered.

Is anyone else exhausted?? I finish my work day and need a nap.

rainfrog21 · 01/07/2021 15:34

Hi @KayL1988 yes the tiredness is bonkers, normally I go to bed around 2am, last night I couldn't stay up after 2130 and then I'm having crazy dreams. If I could nap in the day I totally would but work doesn't really make that possible :-(

Cuwins · 01/07/2021 16:31

Yes I have been exhausted the last couple of days.
Got a letter yesterday about my booking appointment but I need to ring them as I’m confused, it was 2 letters stapled together, 1 cancelling an appointment on 2nd august in 1 place and 1 booking an appointment on 2nd of august at a different place so I’m not really sure if I have an appointment or not!

KayL1988 · 01/07/2021 16:54

Yeah I really wish I could fit in a lunch time nap @rainfrog21!! I have back to back meetings most days for 8 till 6 sometimes going on even later. I think my boss just thinks I've suddenly become really lazy!!!

That's really confusing @Cuwins I wonder if they booked and cancelled a session and then created a new one and sent it you for info? But if they hadn't confirmed it.... then surely just easier to send you a letter with your actually appointment,

MzMaria · 01/07/2021 17:14

Hi all,

I'm 5 weeks today with my first. EDD 3 March 2022. I've got my booking appointment in the diary and feeling quite excited although also wary as so many things can go wrong 😢

Ive been looking into NIPT screening providers and completely lost tbh. Does anyone have any experience / recommendations? I'm Surrey based if that matters.

Shortmamashortcycles · 01/07/2021 17:21

@KayL1988, I feel your pain! I have taken a few steps up careerwise since I was pregnant with my first, and I'm really feeling it this time. So many meetings and folks demanding my attention!

Some days I'm ok, and some days I am absolutely wiped by 11am. Plus a very bouncy toddler to start and end my day with, and who keeps me busy on weekends.

I'm really worried my boss (who doesn't have kids argh) is going to be super unimpressed with me this year!

Shortmamashortcycles · 01/07/2021 17:23

On a separate note, I know some of you mentioned being constantly thirsty, but is anyone else finding it really hard to stay hydrated? TMI warning, but every time I wee it's super dark yellow. Feel like I'm downing pints and it's making no difference!

My pregnancy vitamins make my urine yellow- I was quite shocked the first time but googled it and it’s quite normal. Could it be that?
Babyboom93 · 01/07/2021 17:41

Hope I'm okay to join this thread! Just found out I'm pregnant with our first baby! Me and husband have been ttc for 6 months! This morning I got my BFP Smile

@shortmamashortcycles yep, I don't think the heat is helping me, it's 26⁰C today, and I can't keep up with the thirst.

Shortmamashortcycles · 01/07/2021 18:36

@Cuwins, hmm maybe, i was taking high dose vit b complex when ttc and yeah - that was neon yellow. I guess now I'm on a lower dose it still might be too much and I'm just peeing it out... tbh, this isn't a serious problem, why am I even worrying about it! 😳😅

P.s. welcome @Babyboom93, that's so exciting!

MissL85 · 01/07/2021 19:24

Anyone finding themselves starving? I'm eating way more than I have been earlier but have lost a bit of weight.

Bea89 · 01/07/2021 19:25

@ShrimpingViolet Thank you! Finding it hard to believe but delighted. I am feeling anxious though. Hoping to see the line progress.

I haven't been in touch with the GP yet but exciting to see some have their booking appointments already, That sounds a bit confusing @Cuwins. Hopefully you get to the bottom of it.

Does anyone know if their local midwives are doing in person or virtual for the booking appointment? They were virtual here as my friend had it all via phone and just had to pop in for a quick blood test.

Congratulations @MzMaria and @Babyboom93 on your BFPs.

Cuwins · 01/07/2021 19:27

My appointment is in person

Yes!!! I just can't satisfy my hunger. I then start to feel sickly when I am hungry.

I don't seem to have much symptoms today apart from mild cramps every now and then. But then I don't think I had many at all with my son.

MissL85 · 01/07/2021 19:44

@Cuwins

My appointment is in person
I have my EPAC appointment in person next week at 6 weeks.
AtomicSquash · 01/07/2021 19:45

I hadn't even thought that my booking appointment might not be in person. They didn't mention whether it would be on the phone or in practice when I rang up to book. I hope it's in person, I feel so much more relaxed talking in person!

CurlyNo2 · 01/07/2021 20:19

Mine is a telephone appointment. Do they just then send you away for your bloods?

When I had my son, the first meeting with my midwife was so exciting, she was lovely made me feel at ease.

Shiftima · 01/07/2021 23:28

I can’t sleep! Angry
Tits are like rocks(I swear I’ve gone up a size in 2 days!) and are agony. I can’t get comfortable. Couple of glasses of wine would send me to sleep Hmm Guess not!

toadstool32 · 02/07/2021 05:44

Hi all, I'm 4+1. You're all so brave already registering for booking. I'm terrified I'll jinx it all by doing it so early. Ignorance is bliss over here!!

rainfrog21 · 02/07/2021 08:37

@toadstool32 I was feeling the same but I've decided to book a private early scan at 7.5 weeks (17 July for me) and weirdly that has set my mind slightly at rest. It's given me a point in time where I'll have some clear information at least, and it's not so far in the future that it will eat me up - the idea of 12 weeks of uncertainty was too much for me! I filled in the My Pregnancy Notes online but haven't heard anything yet and I'm not planning to contact NHS until after my early scan, somehow the booking appointment feels more of a big step like you say, and also more difficult to undo given how hard it can be to get hold of someone on phone, whereas the private one I can cancel by email if worst happens. Sending you a virtual cuppa x

rainfrog21 · 02/07/2021 08:39

Hi gals I've found a delicious anti nausea snack

Thanks 😊 my booking appointment is in person at a smaller local community hospital rather than the bigger one my scans are going to be at. I think you can ask for a face to face one even if they're doing virtual ones if you want it for your mental health (it's always nicer to see someone I think 😊)

Shiftima · 02/07/2021 10:11

@rainfrog21 they look amazing!!
