Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hope everyone is feeling well in these early days xx

Thank you @JuneySunshine. Aw congrats, how have you been feeling so far? Yes, the age gap will be perfect I think, not too close together not too far apart. I've not done anything yet in regards to midwife, appointments etc. It still feels quite surreal as I've not told anyone yet. But I'm going to pop into the doctors next week and get the ball rolling with the community midwife and will get my booking in appointment through from there which is usually around 8-10 weeks.

Champersandchocolate · 16/07/2021 19:21

@Maui69 Hi! Nice to virtually meet you. Do you have many classic pregnancy symtpoms? I’m 4w+4 days xx

AtomicSquash · 16/07/2021 19:25

I have my second moderna dose booked in for the 17th August. I asked my midwife if I should go ahead with it and she said yes definitely, so I probably will. I feel like cases are going to go sky high with the lifting of restrictions so I want to be as protected as possible.

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 19:31

Hello @Champersandchocolate! Aww congrats, is this your first? How have you been feeling? At the moment I've been really hungry, very tired and I've got sensitive/tender nipples. Got quite a bad headache tonight also. How about yourself? Lovely to talk to you!

ejefferinton · 16/07/2021 19:33

Hi all, and welcome to all the newbies! Started feeling some mild nausea for the first time today which I found slightly reassuring 😀 I’m sure I’ll soon change my mind on that though! I did a self-referral to the midwife last week and haven’t heard anything back - I know it’s not the same everywhere but wondered if that was ‘normal’? I’m only 5w+2

I haven't recieved my letter but I'm signed up to patients know best and I recieved an email through saying I have mine on the 10th August! It let's you know appointments a bit in advance, it's brilliant.
CharlieSassy · 16/07/2021 20:12

@Starmoose thanks for your reply, I'd read a bit and thought I was prepared but given what you've said I probably feel glad it was taken out of my hands! I'm 5+2, 2nd pregnancy but had a miscarriage with the first so I'm stressing about everything this time 😩

CharlieSassy · 16/07/2021 20:15

@ejefferinton I self referred on Monday and nothing yet, I'm not sure how long is normal. I haven't even spoken to anyone yet, it was an online form for the gp, followed by a text with a link to a self referral form. Submitted that and now waiting!

ejefferinton · 16/07/2021 20:19

@CharlieSassy yeah sounds like mine. Got sent a link from the GP receptionist for a self referral, got a confirmation email and it said I'd get a call, but nothing yet.

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 20:21

All of those worrying about not hearing back from the midwife yet, you usually don't until they've booked you in got your booking in appointment, that is normally anywhere between 8 and 10 weeks. You should recieve an appointment in the next couple of weeks. Hope this helps!

CharlieSassy · 16/07/2021 20:21

@Maui69 perfect age gap, my brother is 4 years younger than me and he's my best friend Smile

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 20:24

@CharlieSassy oh that's lovely, so reassuring to hear! Thank you for that. How far along are you? When are you due?

CharlieSassy · 16/07/2021 20:25

@Maui69 thank you, that's useful to know. I never know when to follow up!!

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 20:27

@CharlieSassy if you don't hear anything by time your 8 weeks then chase it up but I'm sure you'd of had an appointment through by then! Glad I could help. I still need to refer myself to the midwife yet!

Fizzyfluff · 16/07/2021 20:27

@Butterscotchseven

We had our scan this morning, and it was confirmed… twins! Both with heartbeats! When the sonographer said “those are two heartbeats” I just exploded into tears! My husband and I have never made it as far as this before, and have never seen heartbeats on a scan. I’m a few days behind what I thought I was. I thought I was 6+1 today, but measuring 5+6. Everyone is happy I’m within the range to be expected this early.

Taking each day as it comes, especially as it is very very very early days, but today is a happy day.

Errrrm snap!! Early scan this afternoon and both measuring 6+2. I thought I was 6+5 so not too far off.
CharlieSassy · 16/07/2021 20:28

@Maui69 I keep crossing you I think :) I'm 5+1 today! I worked out the date to be 17th March using the online calculator. Should be about right I think as my cycles were always pretty textbook around 26-28 days

CharlieSassy · 16/07/2021 20:29

@Fizzyfluff how exciting!!

Champersandchocolate · 16/07/2021 20:31

@Maui69 I don’t have any symptoms, I’m peeing a lot more but I always pee a lot 😂

And I’m usually always tired so no drastic difference.

This is my 4th pregnancy, I was pregnant at the beginning of the year but lost it at 16 weeks. I have 2 living daughters who are 9&7!

So I was hoping to have my usual chronic sickness but nothing as of yet!!

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 20:31

@CharlieSassy aw exciting, I'm 5+5 today so only a few days ahead of you, that's lovely!

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 20:33

@Champersandchocolate I'm so sorry to hear that, extremely sorry for your loss. You must be so strong! Have you told your other children yet or are you waiting a while? I've not told anyone yet!

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 20:35

Oh wow, is there a couple of sets of twins on this thread?! How exciting!

Champersandchocolate · 16/07/2021 20:44

@Maui69 it’s a very odd experience. Time and distraction is a healer. If I get symptoms then I’ll have to tell my children but I’m going to leave it until 14/18 weeks when I’ve had my early anomaly scans.

Things changed very quickly in just two weeks before so I want to be sure. Hopefully this pregnancy stays nice and low risk xxxx

abbs1 · 16/07/2021 20:46

@fizzfluff congratulations hun! Such lovely news! So happy for you.

Maui69 · 16/07/2021 21:04

@Champersandchocolate that's very understandable to wait to tell them. I will keep everything crossed for you that you have a easy, happy pregnancy and a lovely birth!

EnjoyingTheSunshine · 16/07/2021 21:54
@EnjoyingTheSunshine Hello! I’m sorry to hear of your miscarriage, but congratulations on being pregnant again.

I also have an early scan booked privately with a Fetal Medicine Doctor.

I had a loss at 16 weeks in March so I’m thrilled to be pregnant again, but I am very, very nervous.

I have booked a 6 week scan to check everything is in the right place, I then have two nuchal and anomaly scans booked between 14&16weeks, (I want to check everything twice this time!) then a reassurance scan at 22 weeks.

I’ll also have the standard NHS scans in between.

I have made sure my private scans are with a Fetal Medicine Doctor - the NHS scans made me wait an excruciating amount of time in my previous pregnancy last time after a possible anomaly finding, so this time I want Doctors and a definitive answer every time with a specialised Doctor from the get go!

Good luck with everything. It is hard to control my anxiety but I am eating all the right foods, relaxing and taking deep breaths.

Best wishes xxxx
I'm very sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been awful. Congratulations on being pregnant again, very happy for you. 😊 I'm sure this time everything will go well.

I also keep telling myself, at this stage there's hardly anything we can do ( apart from not drinking alcohol, taking our folic acid and vitamins and keeping relatively healthy and active). The rest is up to mother nature. It's scary, but we'll get through it. xx
