Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hi all! I've made a self-referral to the midwife but haven't heard anything back yet. Am keen to have the 12 week scan before going back to school in September as I'm a teacher. Also having the insomnia issue, wide awake needing a wee at about 4 every morning! Other than that mostly just some very faint nausea, tiredness and very sore boobs. Would be much more anxious if I didn't have any symptoms though! Welcome @xxcatcatcatxx how exciting! Congratulations!

Hi all - I went for an early reassurance scan this afternoon due to miscarriage in March. They dated me 6week+1 day and we got to see the heartbeat. How did you go about getting assurances scan through the online form or directly through to EPU ? Just Covid seems to have changed the pathways and I have no idea which way to engage the team

@newomums aw no it was just through a private scan clinic for my own reassurance not through EPU.

Ahhh glad it's not just me @Butterscotchseven .. I've got a facial booked this weekend and I had to tell them too. I'm having an early scan so will probably tell my best friend after that for a bit of moral support, but otherwise was waiting till end of first trimester. You!?!?

I went to the EPU today for a check up and scan due to some spotting for the past few days.
Ended up having a internal scan and everything was fine, baby growing nicely and strong heartbeat already.
No signs found to why I was spotting/bleeding, so put down to some bruising.

After I got home and been to the toilet since having the scan the bleeding is worse and a lot more red (still only when wiping nothing on pants or pad).

Has anyone else had this?

@miaulin that's great you had a scan and they said all was okay. Maybe the bleeding is because of the internal? Perhaps keep an eye on it and see how it is tomorrow morning and if no improvement go back to the EPU just to be doubly sure

I'm having another not very fun night at all. So just as my toddler has got over the whole stomach bug, impetigo and thrush, seems like he's now getting a cold. He woke two hours ago and won't settle to sleep anywhere. He's now in bed with me having refused to sleep with me in his bed or in the spare room. So my other half is now in the spare room as he's got to get up at 4am for work. I have indigestion and feel overtired and still have a toddler wriggling and whinging beside me refusing to sleep. God I love him but finding this all harder at the moment thanks to those bloody hormones!

We had our scan this morning, and it was confirmed… twins! Both with heartbeats! When the sonographer said “those are two heartbeats” I just exploded into tears! My husband and I have never made it as far as this before, and have never seen heartbeats on a scan. I’m a few days behind what I thought I was. I thought I was 6+1 today, but measuring 5+6. Everyone is happy I’m within the range to be expected this early.

Taking each day as it comes, especially as it is very very very early days, but today is a happy day.

@miaulin I’ve read so many of these forums and it seems like bleeding as you described is totally normal and happens to a lot of women. Keep focusing on what you saw on the scan, that’s great news!!!!!!!!! I’m sure everything will be okay

@xxcatcatcatxx gosh your first post is as if I wrote it!! I too have only been with my boyfriend 5 months and found myself in this position! I'm usually a long term planner..together for 3 years,marriage after 2 years and then later kids. Never thought I'd do it this way round but I'm 31 now so...!! Was it scary telling your man? I was terrified and I'm terrified in general about having a baby 😱 from the birth to the responsibility! I'm coming up to 5 weeks now and no symptoms as of yet! Booked a private early scan for when I'm 8 weeks so fingers crossed it'll feel more real then! Xx

@Butterscotchseven congratulations. I am a twin so that is one thing I’m wondering about! We have a scan booked on Sunday, we have had scans booked our previous 2 pregnancies but never got as far as having them so really hoping this time we will.

I have my booking in appointment this morning. Had to go and buy some travel sickness bands last night to see if it helps with the nausea. I'm not being sick, but I feel wishy washy all day unless I eat.

@Lippygoat congrats!!!! My bf was quite chillied, he’s quite care free anyway so I think he’s up for the adventure and the responsibility will probably do him good 🥰 How did your bf take it 🤗

We’re literally the same person!!! I’m 33 now and was like welllll will I get a chance again, possibly but possibly not. How exciting 👏🏻

@H8theW8 ha I like your plan better than mine, maybe I'm thinking about this all wrong!! I'm definitely not looking forward to the bland foods weeks...for me it was ready salted Pringles all the way last time 😆 5+4 today and think the queasies have begun, hope yours holds off for longer...

@miaulin I had this with my second pregnancy and all was fine. It was never explained and mine was bright red like yours, although only for an evening before suddenly stopping. I also wonder if it's coming from the cervix due to the internal...everything crossed for you and don't hesitate to contact the EPU again if you're worried, I've always found them helpful.

@Butterscotchseven, huge congratulations! I must admit, I booked my early scan partly to check if this is a multiple (they run in the family) and if so, I'll try to use your excitement as a guide - with one toddler already, I'm not sure how ready we would be for 3 under 3...

@miaulin, with my first pregnancy i also had unexplained bright red bleeding for an afternoon, at just under 6 weeks. Dashed to A&E where scan showed no cause and a little heartbeat. Now a 20 month old terror... it can be super normal but also always terrifying!

@xxcatcatcatxx I know right! Honestly when you wrote your post I was like what are the chances 🤣🤣
My boyfriend took it really well, he's 40 now so he's getting on abit and like you, early 30s myself so will I get a chance again?! I'm excited but bloody nervous! I know nothing so I'm definetly learning on the job! Have you got plans of when you're gonna tell your family? Where in the UK are you? Xxx

I really feel for you!! There's nothing worse than no sleep with a sick toddler!

I felt so guilty over the weekend as I wasn't feeling great at all I had a terrible headache and my 3 year old just wanted to play and I couldn't 😫 hoping it gets easier xxx

Hello! I got a BFP on Saturday which was a huge shock after years of fertility treatment with an ex-partner. I'm so happy but also pretty nervous, I've never been pregnant before and hadn't ever really allowed myself to think about what it'd be like!

No real symptoms yet except some mega bloating and a very gurgling tummy. Also dizzy quite a lot. According to my last period I'm 4+6 but I think I ovulated later so maybe not.

Is anyone having an early scan?

Can I ask what may be a very stupid question! I've got an early scan booked with my fertility clinic next Wednesday, I'll be 7+2 then, I'm just wondering will that be an internal scan? 🤔

I have one the exact same day with my fertility clinic, will be 7+3, and was told it would be an internal scan.
