Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hope everyone is feeling well in these early days xx

@hopesprings22 congratulations! I'm the opposite, I'm trying to cram in all the goodies (chocolate, pizza, etc.) before nausea hits as last time I couldn't really eat anything from weeks 6-9 and then only toast bland stuff until the nausea subsided at 17 weeks.

I'm only 4+2 (from ovulation), 5+5 from LMP. Hoping I've got another 2 weeks before it all kicks off 🤞🏼 all hell broke loose at 6+3 last time 😖

JuneySunshine · 13/07/2021 15:36

Hi everyone,

Joining the crew. Congratulations to all of you Flowers

I'm 32 and pregnant for the first time.
Based on my LMP I'm 6w+2 (ridiculous long cycle!) but based on when I ovulated b I think I'm more like 4w+2 (am I doing this right!?)

So far I've had light spotting, cramping and waves of nausea that thankfully pass quickly. I'm gassy and so bloated- I feel like I have a bump already and really hoping this passes.

I don't know why but I'm dawdling on the medical side- planning to call my GP beginning of next week all being well. Think I'm just scared to make this 'official' as I know there's a lot of risk early on.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone is getting along x

CurlyNo2 · 13/07/2021 15:38

I'm 6+1 and I got a call from my midwife to bring my booking appointment forward to tomorrow. Exciting times 🥰

I registered my pregnancy on 'my pregnancy notes' and appointment card through 2 days later x

ballanj · 13/07/2021 15:39

how are people finding wait times for their booking in appointment....? The midwife came back quickly after I completed a self referral form on Friday but my appointment isn't until the 11th August which would be my 11th week. So not expecting nuchal scan until post 12 weeks!

AtomicSquash · 13/07/2021 15:57

I had my booking appointment today at 7+6, very exciting to have all the official paperwork etc.. 11 weeks sounds quite late @ballanj. Did they say anything about why it was so late when they arranged the appointment?

firstimemamma · 13/07/2021 16:01

@ballanj did my self-referral a week ago and still nothing but they did say it can take up to 3 weeks to hear anything.

I'm only 5+5 and my jeans definitely felt tighter today, especially around the thigh area! 🙈It was like this with my first pregnancy though and that was healthy so I find the similarity reassuring!

ballanj · 13/07/2021 16:10

@AtomicSquash no I didn't ask but I think I will do given the wait time. If the scan happens the following week that's fine albeit we are on holiday which would mean having to travel there/back in the day just for the scan. I was expecting the booking in to be around the 8 week mark

AtomicSquash · 13/07/2021 16:18

Yes @ballanj I think I would ask too. The NHS website says it should be before 10weeks because they have to do tests that need to be done before then.

Cuwins · 13/07/2021 16:33

My booking appointment is at 9 weeks.

KayL1988 · 13/07/2021 16:52

I've not got mine yet but they said it would be 7/8 weeks when I sent my self referral... so should hopefully hear in the next week I'd hope!

@firstimemamma I can't fit into my jeans without an elastic band now. My belly is so swollen (don't think it helps that I'm having a slice of white bread every morning to stave off sickness). How is everyone else finding clothes? I've been digging floaty dresses out of my wardrobe too!

GingerKombucha · 13/07/2021 16:58

I self referred about a week ago, got a text message today with a date for my first scan (will be 12 weeks 2 days) but nothing yet from the midwives on my booking appointment. I want it soon as I need a referral to the pre-term clinic for a shortened cervix and supposedly I'll be referred at my booking appointment.

CurlyNo2 · 13/07/2021 17:00

Mine is tomorrow at 6+2.

I think it was around the same time when I had my appointment with my son 5 tears ago. Maybe it's the area, we have a major hospital for women in our area, maybe why we get seen so quick?

My jeans are very tight and I very much look pregnant! How I'm going to hide this got another 6 weeks, I don't know!!

CurlyNo2 · 13/07/2021 17:02

I forgot to ask, I anybody else suffering from insomnia since they've been pregnant? Mine is horrendous, I'm going to sleep terrible, and then waking up after 1-2 hours and then I'm wide awake. I was so annoyed with myself as night when I woke up, I was thrashing around, its a wonder my husband didn't lash me out of the bed! If it was him, he would have been pushed out 😂

ballanj · 13/07/2021 17:03

I have emailed the community midwife team to see if I can get an earlier date. Just seems a long time to wait! Was different when I was expecting my son 3 years ago, was simply a case of calling up the GP and they arranged it there and then. I certainly didn't wait that long, was probably around 6 - 8 weeks from memory. Obviously some kind of baby boom!

firstimemamma · 13/07/2021 17:05

@KayL1988 hope u hear something soon. I'm not at the elastic band stage yet but didn't need to wear my belt! How far along are you?

KayL1988 · 13/07/2021 17:55

Only 6+3 @firstimemamma so should definitely be bloat as opposed to bump. My jeans are a bit higher waisted though which probably doesn't help.

Butterscotchseven · 13/07/2021 18:31

@GingerKombucha I’m the same as you … approx 6+2 and my symptoms come and go. I’ll have little waves of mild nausea sometimes and then other times feel absolutely fine! It’s such a mind game 😩 I’m constantly overthinking every little symptom and wondering if I’m feeling it strong enough too.

I’d love to feel a bit more nausea just for reassurance 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Wish time would hurry up, feels like it’s dragging 😭

Butterscotchseven · 13/07/2021 18:34

@KayL1988 it does feel weird! I told my Pilates instructor and had a similar thing with a hair appointment too! I haven’t told any friends or family and I feel a little guilty. Not sure why!! When do you plan on telling anyone?

Butterscotchseven · 13/07/2021 18:36

@H8theW8 lol love the username!! Just wondering when nausea kicked in for you, was it all of a sudden or a slow progression?

I’ll have moments where I feel a little nauseous if I haven’t eaten but it’s not bad at all. Wondering what morning sickness should feel like as I’ve never made of far enough in my previous pregnancies to experience it. I’m hoping it just catches me out, I know I’ll regret saying that, but for me it will be a new reassuring milestone to have hit.

Butterscotchseven · 13/07/2021 18:41

@CurlyNo2 I’m struggling with the insomnia!! I’m awake approx 3-4 times a night to pee, and then wide awake at 4-5am. Sometimes I can fall back asleep again an hour later, other times I can’t! It’s so weird having this symptom 🙃

Some advice I read about it is if you’re struggling to fall back asleep get up and go and do something to distract yourself. Maybe get up and go read somewhere? Have a hot drink? And then come back to bed after you’re tired again.

Otherwise I’ve tried some of the guided sleep meditations on the calm app that have relaxed me again.

Apparently lying in bed and stressing about trying to get back asleep only makes things worse. Hopefully you get a better nights sleep soon!

H8theW8 · 13/07/2021 18:50

@Butterscotchseven Nausea kicked in at 6+3 for me in my last pregnancy. I felt slightly nauseous for a couple of days and then BAM!! I had intense, unrelenting, 24/7 nausea coupled with an inhuman sense of smell which made things 10 times worse 🤢 it was so bad I went to the docs at 7 weeks begging for something to make it stop (I was prescribed antiemetics but they did nothing). I just had to ride it out for 11 full weeks! The relief when I woke up one day feeling fine was immense.

That said, there is no way you 'should' feel. Everyone is different and has different symptoms/experiences, symptoms (or lack of) don't mean anything really, some people are just luckier than others. I totally understand your desire for reassurance having had losses (sorry to hear that) but you will rue the day you asked for morning sickness 🙈

I'm hoping to have a nausea free pregnancy this time (or at least less severe than last time) but i'm not holding my breath.

I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months x

xxcatcatcatxx · 13/07/2021 18:56

Hi guys 🥰

Making my way through this post. Hello to everyone 👋🏻 Nice to meet you all!

Just trying to figure out dates etc but judging by my period I think I’ll be a March mummi bear.

No idea what I’m doing, we weren’t trying as we’ve only been together about 5 months so no idea about anything pregnancy related but very nervous, very shocked and super excited!

I did think I came on a couple of weeks ago but it was so light and then stopped. Went to London at the weekend with friends and I wore a new dress and was like “omg this dress makes my boobs look amazing” 😬Then still hadn’t come on and felt super weird and feint in the shower this morning so was like hold onnnnnn and it was positive!

Sending lots of love to you allll and exciting times ahead💕

@xxcatcatcatxx Congratulations on your pregnancy 🤩

The bleed you had a couple of weeks ago was likely implantation bleeding. Have you had a chance to arrange your booking appointment with a midwife yet? I booked mine today - 10th August x

xxcatcatcatxx · 13/07/2021 19:10

@H8theW8 Ohhh thank you 🥰 You too!!!
I phoned my GP and they’ve sent me a link to sign up/ register so Hopefulli will confirm a date soon 👏🏻

Got my booking appointment for exactly 8 weeks- I’m in Wiltshire where it’s all still a bit old school, I had to ring the birthing centre to get myself booked in.
We’ve booked an early viability scan for 7+5 as we have our wedding party (covid wedding delayed a year, finally managed a small ceremony last month- my LMP date as AF was an unexpected wedding guest) at 8 weeks and I’m not sure I will be able to hide it from family members. As soon as I don’t drink they will be onto me!! Also got 3 other weddings to go to in the next few weeks and am dreading it with how nauseous I am feeling. My friend has said ginger sweets and haribo tangfastics helped her nausea so I have been to get some today- fingers crossed!
