Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hope everyone is feeling well in these early days xx

PurpleCat88 · 09/07/2021 10:18

Morning ladies - can I join please? Got my BFP over a week ago and I’m now 5 weeks. First baby for me - excited and nervous! ☺️

PurpleCat88 · 09/07/2021 10:19

Oops forgot to say - I think I’ll be due around the 11th March

KayL1988 · 09/07/2021 10:57

@PurpleCat88 you are here 🦥 yayyyy

KayL1988 · 09/07/2021 10:59

Also I'm 5+6 and just sat for a few minutes dry heaving. Is that normal at this stage?? I thought the sickness might come later, but I've now had to position an empty bin next to my desk because I'm worried it'll happen again. 🤢

intheheights · 09/07/2021 11:07

@KayL1988 I'm 6 weeks and yesterday and today I keep throwing up my meals. Sickness is very normal at this stage (but also not having sickness is normal too)

Coco456 · 09/07/2021 11:14

Hi ladies can I join? Just found out a few days ago that I’m pregnant!! Still feels weird to say haha I’m 6+1 I think but the test lines haven’t became super strong, definitely there though hope everyone else is doing good!

Coco456 · 09/07/2021 11:15

Forgot to mention I’m due March 5th

Mwilliams31 · 09/07/2021 11:20

@KayL1988 do you actually feel sick? I am dry heaving loads too but not feeling overly nauseous (just a tiny bit) xx

PurpleCat88 · 09/07/2021 11:30

@KayL1988 - hey TTC buddy! 👋🦥

KayL1988 · 09/07/2021 11:31

Thanks @intheheights seems early!

Not too sickly at the moment @Mwilliams31 but yes lots of dry heaving. Even after I've drank water... makes zero sense!

Shortmamashortcycles · 09/07/2021 11:32

@KayL1988, yup nausea usually starts around 6 weeks but I've been feeling rubbish for the last few days.

It's not much fun - I'm just counting the days until the second trimester. Last time I had pretty much all-day nausea from about 6 to 14 weeks, looks like I'll be treated to the same this time.

Eating little and often helps, and whatever you feel like. I cannot emphasise this enough - whatever you can cope with, eat that. Don't worry about nutrition right now, you and the baby will be fine!

firstimemamma · 09/07/2021 11:34

No sickness but very tired and hormones all over the place. Makes me snap at my toddler then I go and have a secret cry due to the guilt. Also worry about whether everything is ok.

firstimemamma · 09/07/2021 11:39

Also does anyone tell anyone at this early stage? I'm seriously considering telling one close friend. We see each other most days due to being neighbours as well as friends so I'm wondering how long I'm going to be able to hide it from her. For example before I got pregnant I used to run 10k a week but now I'm breathless doing simple things! I could also do with someone to talk to.

Lexber · 09/07/2021 11:50

Hey all.

I got my BFP this morning and it's not sunk in yet I don't think - we've only been ttc 2/3minths after a coil removal..
I'm either 3+6 (lmp) or 4+1 with ov so looking to be due 17th or 19th March...

It doesn't feel real!

Mwilliams31 · 09/07/2021 11:54

@firstimemamma we have told quite a few people. Personally I don’t like the 12 week wait because I feel like you need support whether things go well or not, that’s just my opinion though and I do understand why people do it but we have already told a fair few! Xx

hellointhere · 09/07/2021 11:57

Hey @firstimemama ! It's my first too. When I found out a week ago, I only kept it a secret between my husband and I for two days. Then I told my whole family! I know it's a risk because of miscarriage but I figured I'd want those around me to know either way. I think it's up to you entirely.

I feel a little silly for this question, but do irregular cycles impact the due date? On the nhs due date calculator it asks for your average cycle length. I'm curious why? I had only been tracking my period since December and they were all over the place.

hellointhere · 09/07/2021 12:00

Oops not only assumed wrong that you were having your first, but I tagged you incorrectly. I'm new here. @firstimemamma

Lexber · 09/07/2021 12:05

I've also got a reduced appetite and finding I'm not tasting things the same - it was my youngest birthday yesterday (11) and we went maccys and I hardly touched it and didn't enjoy it at all. Then I had some cake at home and it made me feel sick and I usually love cake!

I've just really fancied cereals with cold milk and had one mouthful and it tasted awful?
Yet I enjoyed eating fresh fruit 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

I've been wiped out for a couple of days now too

KayL1988 · 09/07/2021 12:08

Thanks for tips @Shortmamashortcycles I wasn't expecting the dry heaving. Will definitely stick with what I can manage and smaller food.

@firstimemamma we've told our parents because we've got a few big family events and it would be weird not drinking (easier if we can sneakily order non alcoholic drinks and they can cover for me). I don't think we'd have told anyone otherwise. What are you doing???

orangemumx · 09/07/2021 12:25

@firstimemamma

I've told a quite few people, I can't hide how tired and sick I am from people I see often haha Smile
toadstool32 · 09/07/2021 12:31

Nope only my husband. If I make it to 16 weeks I'll tell people then

abbs1 · 09/07/2021 12:40

Ive told several people close family/friends as i suffered hyperemesis last time so as soon as the sickness starts they will know anyway so id rather they know in advance.

Kaytay · 09/07/2021 12:50

We have only told my parents as others have said see them nearly everyday so they would have guessed, not sure when to tell anyone else, made it to almost 20 weeks last time without telling people. When does everyone tell their other children, I was thinking maybe after the 12 week scan, it's a long time for them he is only 3 so it will seem forever away x

ballanj · 09/07/2021 13:15

So far we have only told my sister (she's suffered two miscarriages and has an 8 year old daughter and I always said to me she would want to know first so she could come to terms/process etc). We also told my mum and dad last night. We are telling my other half's parents tonight when they bring back our toddler after work. It's been lovely to deliver some happy news to family after what has been a tough few months, even though it is very early days still. Fortunately I'm still working from home and not having bad symptoms so anyone I do see before week 12, we hope to wing it.
