Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hope everyone is feeling well in these early days xx

@Mwilliams31

Does anyone know if it’s possible to contact a midwife to discuss your worries in early pregnancy? X
Do you have an EPAU near you that you could call or visit? I know our one won't see you until you are 6 weeks.
Fiep · 07/07/2021 21:27

@Mwilliams31 I contacted the midwife today to ask something about work - is it safe for me to do a self-defence course with rolling on the floor (required for my risky job). She listened to all the detail, asked questions and made a considered judgment which I really appreciated. So depending on the issue I’m sure you could contact the midwife too.

I ended up telling my manager so he can arrange a less intense course for me. Feels scary telling people this early but I knew I’d never forgive myself if I mc after the course and could’ve avoided it, even if the risk is low.

Thanks @Sorbfsiabs just requested to join the Facebook group. Thanks for setting it up 😀

Congrats to everyone, so exciting!

Mwilliams31 · 07/07/2021 21:34

@Fiep how did you contact them, was it via your doctors surgery? Xx

Mwilliams31 · 07/07/2021 21:37

@CurlyNo2 yes I have an EPAU at my local hospital but they won’t do any every reassurance scans at the moment, due to covid x

Fiep · 07/07/2021 22:03

@Mwilliams31 I contacted my GP via their online contact form to say I was pregnant and what do I do next. Today they messaged back saying I need to call the midwife and included her number. I phoned her, she answered, and told me to self refer to the local maternity unit online. She also went through a few things with me. But I basically won’t see her until 16w - I’m to just contact her after the 12w scan! I think the other appointments are at the maternity unit if I remember right.

treesall · 07/07/2021 22:07

Sorry you're feeling so poorly @Shortmamashortcycles, it is a good sign though. I do remember how awful the sickness is though, it's horrendous.

Congratulations @ballanj!

I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go @Mwilliams31 but I know it's super worrying and stressful. Hopefully you will have reassurance soon.

Great news on the heartbeat @MissL85! Woohoo! I'm on progesterone too. I didn't have low progesterone levels but I think it's prescribed as a precaution to anyone who has had multiple miscarriages. The pessaries are horrible, arent they!?

@Justanotherlondonmum I'm on the Surrey / London borders.

Fiep · 07/07/2021 22:07

@EmCEmC I requested to join the fb group, thanks for setting it up :)

MissL85 · 07/07/2021 22:24

@treesall have you been to your local EPAC and they gave it to you from there? Have you had a scan? How did you find the side effects? I haven't used it yet, as I want to speak to them about migraines I had in the past.

Goldi321 · 07/07/2021 22:43

@Fiep what about your booking appointment at 8-10 weeks?

toadstool32 · 07/07/2021 22:52

I'm also London/Surrey border Smile

treesall · 07/07/2021 23:04

@MissL85 no, I'm being treated privately for recurrent miscarriage so taking that in addition to some other drugs. I don't normally take anything ever, except a painkiller if I'm desperate, so this is all a bit of a leap of faith for me! I've taken it since ovulation and no side effects so far. Way too early for a scan, I'm only just 4 weeks. Will have one at 6+2 if I make it that far...

Ooo @toadstool32 we must be pretty close then!

intheheights · 07/07/2021 23:20

@Goldi321 congrats! Oooh we're very similar! It's a first baby for us in the first month of trying so we were shocked too! I had period pains so totally expected my period and it never came so I just did a test on a whim!
We also had a Covid wedding but are having our big party next year so should be fine by then. I hope you have a lovely time at yours! I've been feeling so so tired and having period like pains which were particularly bad today so I hope all is ok. I can't wait until my early scan, just over two weeks to go!

Lya4 · 07/07/2021 23:34

Yay just got a 3+ on CBD at 5+3. I can finally start to relax now!

Another positive is the pregnancy rhinitis has done one today too giving me some much needed relief! It's been awful and have barely been getting any sleep so hopefully will get a good night sleep now 🤞🏼

Hope everyone is doing ok!

Morning Guys! I am 5 weeks pregnant now and really struggling with sciatica in my lower back, struggling to sleep and get comfortable! Anyone else having this problem? Any solution? Sad

Dumbler · 08/07/2021 09:35

I’m 5+3 I think. Had some very light pink/pale brown when I wiped last night and this morning. Feel sick as a dog too. Hating this already. Such a worrying time

toadstool32 · 08/07/2021 10:18

I'm 5weeks and not enjoying these cramps

rainfrog21 · 08/07/2021 11:50

Hi ladies, I had to make a call to the EPAU today and just wanted to let you know if you are worried about calling them they were very kind and helpful. I've been having a throbbing pain in one side (ovary area) in addition to all the usual symptoms and they've booked me in today for an appt. I'm 5+3 so was quite surprised they wanted me to come in, but have had mc earlier in the year. I've not had any spotting this time and my CB digi showed 3+ today so I'm going to just hope it's a cyst rather than anything more sinister. I'll post an update later tonight as I'm guessing it's helpful for others to hear about issues and what the outcomes are. Xx

Mwilliams31 · 08/07/2021 12:25

@rainfrog21 hope everything goes ok later 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Xx

Shortmamashortcycles · 08/07/2021 13:06

🤞🤞 it's nothing serious @rainfrog21.

So pleased they're taking you seriously and investigating. Do let us know how it goes - will be thinking of you!

Justanotherlondonmum · 08/07/2021 13:15

@treesall super close!

Justanotherlondonmum · 08/07/2021 13:16

@rainfrog21 🤞

treesall · 08/07/2021 13:32

Hope all is ok @rainfrog21

CurlyNo2 · 08/07/2021 15:34

Hope everything is OK @rainfrog21

rainfrog21 · 08/07/2021 18:44

Hi girls - thank you so much for the kind words this afternoon, it really helped. I had a scan and it turns out I have a cyst on both ovaries both of which are inflamed and getting buffeted by the changes and the hormones, so there's nothing to worry about but it's just going to be painful. Turns out my period app was bang on with dates 5+3 exactly. The Midwife says I was right to come in due to the particular pain on one side being a sign of ectopic so just to reassure anyone like me who is paranoid about wasting NHS time. Xxx
