Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hope everyone is feeling well in these early days xx

Hello,
Just wondering if I could join found out last Friday that I’m pregnant and due around 1st March, so 6 weeks tomorrow! Just so unbelievably happy right now but also a little anxious, just deciding when to book a early scan as I feel it would help me feel more at ease, has anyone else booked one yet?

Had so many symptoms this time round this is my 3rd but with a 9 year gap so feels like I’m new to all this again, so so tired, been nauseous everyday, sometimes all day, extremely sore boobs, so sensitive to smells and needing to wee all the time didn’t really have many symptoms with my previous pregnancies so this has also been new to me and made it much harder to hide.

rainfrog21 · 05/07/2021 12:12

@Cuwins yes I've also had abdomen pain pretty much constantly (just at 5 weeks now). It's a combination of a dull ache in lower back and lower abdomen, with annoying stabby pains that seem to rove around that whole area, side, middle, back etc at different times. I understand - from people here - that this is generally considered normal. (I had a mc earlier in the year, and if it helps you to know, the pain there was much closer to extreme period cramps, a twisty feeling, and I experienced spotting from 2 days b4 AF was due for a full 9 days before it started heavily, so quite different - but ofc only my personal experience). Xx

rainfrog21 · 05/07/2021 12:17

Hi @Peanut87 I've booked an early private scan for 17 July, when I'll be just about 7 weeks. Everyone has very mixed opinions but I've chosen to get one because I'm on vacation the week after and don't think I'll be able to relax unless I have some more information. The way I look at it is that if good result I can relax and enjoy, if bad/unclear at least I'll be able to use the week to take it in and care for myself. One reason to wait until week 10 or after is that you can then also get your NIPT at the same time if you want to. Do whatever feels right for you!

Cuwins · 05/07/2021 12:19

@rainfrog21 thanks. I had 2 miscarriages last year but actually had no pain at all until after bleeding started (close to 6 weeks both times, I am 5+1 now) but then it was kind of similar to this.
I have had a lot more symptoms this time than I did either of the others so I’m taking that as a good sign.

rainfrog21 · 05/07/2021 12:23

@Cuwins so sorry to hear that, hopefully your different symptoms now mean that you will have a good outcome, the uncertainly is so difficult. Mine was also just past 6wks so I'll be thinking of you, and I feel like I might be able to relax slightly when I hit the 8wk milestone.

Shortmamashortcycles · 05/07/2021 12:38

@Peanut87, I have an early scan booked on 19th July (so v soon after you, @rainfrog21!) I figure I'll be 7+2 then, and wanted some reassurance as I'm now over 35.

Am super on edge this week because this is the stage I had unexplained bleeding last time (baby was fine, just super stressful at the time). It's like I'm in the 2WW again - constantly knicker-checking.

Not helping that I have the toddler's vile cold. Blergggh.

rainfrog21 · 05/07/2021 12:43

@Shortmamashortcycles omg the pants- watch is ridiculous here too! I'm also 37 and this will be my first, so I'm here with you on the anxiety, I feel bad because my partner is thrilled and I'm not not able to feel anything other than anxiety, which is raining on his parade as well as not especially helping me, but can't force the brain to do what it won't! Lucky the weather is finally improving so walks in the sunshine with a good audio book are helping a little, and my Mum has kindly offered to come see me at the weekend to just be nearby and let me be mad with someone other than him Grin

busybee2102 · 05/07/2021 12:56

Hi all. I’m 5+5 today, and although I’ve been having queasiness for a few days, I just nearly lost my lunch. First time I’ve got close to actually throwing up. This is my first (I’m 38!) so it’s all new to me. Thank god I’m a teacher and the majority of the first trimester will fall over the summer hols. A couple of my colleagues know because we did IVF, but how do people cope with covering up feeling really sick, nearly to the point of puking? Particularly in the current climate with so much fear of being sick/ill?!

Shortmamashortcycles · 05/07/2021 12:56

Awww @rainfrog21, at least we can pant-watch together. My OH is insanely busy at work for the next couple of weeks so was pleased we conceived (possibly because we don't have to schedule sex this month!) then has pretty much ignored it since then. He'll get more excited after 12 weeks, I think.

Have you told your mum already or are you going to this weekend?

I was amazingly chill from 12 weeks on with my first, no idea how, then was cripplingly anxious for the first 10 months of her life. (She had colic and reflux and then the pandemic happened.) I'm hoping after 12 weeks I can relax with this one... unless I keep getting DD's bloody colds - maybe I should just buy a hazmat suit.

On the other hand, the cold is helping explain why I'm a bit off at work - great pregnancy cover!

Peanut87 · 05/07/2021 13:05

Thank you for your replies, they are similar to the date I was thinking of booking one for, I think I’m just going to go for it today and book one.
I suppose now is the right time to ring your GP?
Not really sure what I’ve been waiting for but feeling now I’m 6 weeks near enough might be the best time, how is everyone else feeling? I just have zero energy today didn’t sleep well last night so really need to take it easy today and relax, hope your all well?

hellointhere · 05/07/2021 13:16

I called GP and have my midwife appointment booked beginning of August. I also got one of those tests that tell you how many weeks and it said 1-2 weeks! I'm shocked, I thought it would be 3 weeks and that's also what I said on the phone to my GP. I'm wondering whether I should wait and test again, whether I should call my GP back?
I'm still in a pretty good mood even though the test has freaked me out a bit.

maisiedaisy64 · 05/07/2021 13:32

@Elune no I’m not U.K. based, and midwife led care is the exception here, it’s normally all consultant led! I don’t know anyone who went midwife led, but I’ll have to ask around!

Peanut87 · 05/07/2021 13:35

@hellointhere I’ll ring mine up today then no point in putting it off any longer, I’ve had the same problems with these weeks tests I should be seeing 3+ now but still says 2-3 googled as I was so worried and apparently it’s quite common and they’re not very accurate, who knows but I’ve decided not to do anymore just causing me unnecessary stress, I’d keep your appointment and not worry at all about the weeks on the test

Elune · 05/07/2021 13:44

Remember that 1-2, etc is from conception, not LMP. So when it says 1-2, you're 3-4 weeks pregnant in the 'traditional' dating method (so around the time your period would have come otherwise). Likewise 2-3 means 4-5 weeks, and 3+ weeks means 5+ weeks. But they have a massive range and shouldn't be relied on solely as an indication of whether things are going well or not (although a lot of people use them this way to confirm things are progressing - that their HcG is rising).

hellointhere · 05/07/2021 13:54

Thank you both for replying it puts me at ease! Sorry I don't know how to tag on here. How do I tag on here?! I'm on the app. I am quite new to mumsnet.

Is anyone else doing couch to 5k by any chance? I'm about to start week 8 tomorrow, and I think I'm going to wear two sports bras at once.

Shortmamashortcycles · 05/07/2021 14:01

@hellointhere, I don't do couch to 5k but I'm a regular runner and ran through to about 30 weeks with my last pregnancy.

Just a heads-up that you may find you get breathless a lot faster even though the pregnancy is still early, so please take it easy and don't push too hard! I found running in my first trimester was so much harder than in my second!

(But yeah, if your boobs are acting up then two sports bras it is! 🤣)

hellointhere · 05/07/2021 14:38

@shortmamashortcycles thank you! I definitely will take it slow. Running has been so good for my mood, I want to keep it going for as long as possible.
I am guessing this is how you tag, hope it works.

redandwhite1 · 05/07/2021 16:14

Congratulations everyone!
Took a test today and I got a BFP so due early March!

Shortmamashortcycles · 05/07/2021 16:17

@hellointhere, yup successful tag! I totally agree - I don't run to keep fit really, I run to clear my head. Hopefully you can keep going until super late - or at least switch to some good walks right near the end.

Milly238 · 05/07/2021 16:29

@redandwhite1 yay congrats!!

Hope everyone is feeling good today! I’ve had strange uncomfortable twinges (I’d say cramps but they aren’t painful) in different places in my abdomen all day today and feel like I need to pee constantly but when I get to the loo, I find I don’t really need to - anyone else feeling the same? I’m also getting quite a bit of CM and am concerned that’s not normal as I thought you dried up once pregnant?

toadstool32 · 05/07/2021 16:42

Woop 21dpo and got my 3+ today. I am therefore officially done with testing!

busybee2102 · 05/07/2021 17:24

@toadstool32 yay! I got my 3+ today as well, last did a digital on Friday and was 2-3 still. Not sure when it would have ‘ticked over’ between Friday and today! I’m equivalent of 26dpo - had IVF so it was egg collection rather than ovulation! I’m going to try not to keep testing. Costing me a fortune 🤦🏼‍♀️

toadstool32 · 05/07/2021 17:44

Fab @busybee2102! I got a 2-3 at 12dpo and not tried since so like you, it may have "ticked over" to 3+ before today. Still symptomless though!

I'm a teacher too and it seems we're due to same time. I have had to ask for a toilet key as all our toilets are locked due to Covid and the one that is open is at the other end of the school. Work knows because I have an EPAC appointment on Wednesday. I'm glad the first trimester is in the holidays as I'm using all my energy to remain calm and I'm so tired in general. I also feel dizzy at times.

I know about the knicker checking. I'm still doing it despite getting past both dates that I miscarried last time (5+2 and 4+2).
