Anyone else wondering if they are pregnant with twins?

Just that really.

Think on Friday I will be about 6 weeks pregnant. I've been feeling SO thirsty all the time for a few weeks now. Never had that with other pregnancies. Also got loads of stretching feelings going on in my uterus often throughout the day. Also it is uncomfortable leaning forwards, I already feel like there is something in there and I tho k my stomach looks bigger already too.

I am still breastfeeding a 1 Yr old so I know that increases chances by 9 times, and my dad is a fraternal twin.

Feeling sick already although only one morning so far has it felt absolutely awful.

Anyone else feeling similar?

@RBundy absolutely if you've got a good clinic. Yep both pregnancies, for weeks in the first trimester. Good luck for the scan

RBundy · 14/06/2021 19:05

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you. How are you? Did you book a private scan?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/06/2021 19:08

@RBundy I'm okay thanks. I think I will be booking one, but haven't yet. I didn't realise my pregnancy wasn't progressing last time, so just want to check in occasionally and see.

How're you?

Yes that totally makes sense to ease your worries.
I'm ok thanks, just trying to carry on and not think about too much until I know what's going on. Confused

isurvived3under2 · 14/06/2021 19:59

@WeCameToDance I have a picture of a double yolker my mum found and sent me the day of my first scan (with twins). I've not seen one since (or before) Confused

ChikiTIKI · 14/06/2021 20:32

Ooh that's interesting to know @isurvived3under2 maybe it really is a reliable sign then!!!

I'll be thinking of you as you navigate the first trimester anxieties @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 and @RBundy.

When I had a miscarriage it was around 8 or 9 weeks, and I just dont feel like I can tell anyone until I see a good scan at 10 weeks+ out of fear I will have to un-tell them if it goes wrong. I am definitely flitting between the hope of twins and the fear that it doesn't work out at all xx

Thanks @RBundy. I've woken up with brown spotting again but not sure whether it's enough to call the EGU 😔

Hey hun, try not to worry. If you want to ease your mind it's always worth speaking to someone, but from my experience spotting is normal in early pregnancy, if it gets heavier and red then that's when you should speak to someone. Take it easy and let us know how you get on. X
A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2021 07:40

@ChikiTIKI sorry lovely, always worrying to see. Do you have cramping with it or just a little spotting? If it were me I would monitor it this morning and give GP a call. They'll most likely say it's very normal (if not red and no cramping) but given you've had a previous loss they might offer something to put your mind at rest. Do what will make you feel most comfortable

ChikiTIKI · 15/06/2021 11:26

Thanks ladies. It was the same as what happened last Wednesday, just there when I woke up, lots of (sorry tmi) clear egg white type stuff with a slight brownish tinge to it, very light colour. After that was wiped away there's been nothing else so far today. I think I'm going to wait and see if it happens again. That said, I don't really want to sit through my booking in appointment at 10 weeks if I don't know whether I am still pregnant or not. I might call the EGU either end of this week or next week and see what they advise-if it's worth checking for a missed miscarriage or not.

Some more positive news... I have felt a bit less sick today as I have trialled not taking my pregnancy vitamin in the morning. I am going to take it with my evening meal instead. At least I hope that's why I am feeling a bit less sick, and hope its not a sign of something more worrying.

Hope you're both doing well today xx

That's good it seems to have stopped now. And that's great that your sickness isn't so bad today either Grin I'm ok thanks, trying to keep busy until next tuesdays scan. Confused I hope you have a lovely day!
A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2021 14:00

@ChikiTIKI good it's stopped. I know it's meant to be very common, but it's scary to see. Worth giving them a call if you're worried, if only to set your mind at rest.

My vitamin is five pills a day, to be spread out, I'm not sure why 🤷‍♀️ I don't think it makes me sick yet but tbh I'm feeling absolutely fine at six weeks. Prob too early for it all to kick in

ChikiTIKI · 15/06/2021 14:54

@RBundy only a week to go 🙂 the waiting is awful isn't it. Twice today I've felt like I might burst in to tears.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 wow that's a lot of vitamin doses! The huge pregnancy multivitamins can make people feel quite sick, so I will avoid in the mornings now. I took the test at a couple of days before 5 weeks, and was already getting very thirsty. The tiredness and sickness has gone from nothing to about as much as I can bear in the last 2 weeks. I did have my covid jab about 1.5 weeks ago though which made me SO exhausted for nearly a week.

I don't know if I'm getting a dull ache feeling or if it's just phychological because I'm worrying. Hoping an early night will do me some good.

@ChikiTIKI horrible to be feeling so tearful and worried. Have you contacted anyone, would you consider an earlier scan than you planned to put your mind at rest?

It's stressful, so much of this process seems to be waiting around to see how things go

ChikiTIKI · 16/06/2021 10:23

I haven't yet @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 but I haven't had any spotting this morning. I may call on Friday if I am still feeling worried. Its a bit tricky to go to the hospital for childcare reasons unless I tell extended family I am pregnant which I don't want to do yet.

@ChikiTIKI that sounds positive that it's stopped. Hope you're well for the rest of the day. Can't be fun feeling rough and looking after a child

ChikiTIKI · 16/06/2021 19:18

Thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 🙂 I'm feeling like going to bed already!! Haha. Might have a mug cake first though 😀

Have you had any sickness yet? Maybe you will have one of those pregnancies where you don't feel sick. I would be very happy for you and a little it jealous 😅

Nearly made it to the weekend now @RBundy hope the days are whizzing by for you xx

Ooh I love a mug cake! Enjoy it!! I'm feeling tired today too, this heat doesn't help though does it.

This week is luckily going quite fast thank god! Hump day is almost over so the count down is on for my scan! Grin

Hope you're sickness isn't too bad today, anymore spotting?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/06/2021 19:36

OMG a mug cake, I just googled it, looks amazing but I don't have a microwave 😭

No no sickness here yet, although I'm so bloated I'm feeling a little queasy right now. Sorry you're feeling crappy.

@RBundy are you sick?

ChikiTIKI · 16/06/2021 20:01

Another day with having vitamins in the evening and although I've felt very sick at times, I've not felt extremely sick the whole time so I think it's a bit better. Still not actually vomited yet and to be honest I think I would feel better if I did. I'll probably take that comment back when I actually am sick!! Yes not long til the scan now @RBundy hope the days continue to fly by.

Not had any more spotting at all today 🙂

Sorry about the bloating @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 if it makes you feel any better about lack of mug cake, I don't think it would help with bloating. I will probably look like I'm pregnant with quads by the time I've finished this thing. Maybe I'll have to start a "quads or cake" thread 😅

OP posts:
RBundy · 16/06/2021 20:26

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7
I'm afraid I'm one of the lucky ones, well so far anyway. I didn't have any symptoms with my first at all other than getting fat. And I'm hoping for the same this time round too but we shall see.

@ChikiTIKI love the "quads or cake" thread idea 🤣
Glad you're finding the vitamins eases things if taken in the evening.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/06/2021 10:43

@ChikiTIKI eat as much mug cake as you can if it keeps the sickness away!! Can sort the 'quads' out later when you feel better 😂
@RBundy you're so lucky no sickness really at all! I'm six and a half and nothing yet, feel really well. A bit tired, and digestion's slowed down. But don't want to jinx it

RBundy · 17/06/2021 10:54

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 glad you're feeling well so far, long may that continue for you! Honestly nothing! Towards the end my ankles swelled up. But I had no ill effects. I think I'm 7+1 now and no side effects yet so far.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/06/2021 11:56

@RBundy I think a lot of pregnant ladies will hate you 😂😂😂 ThAts amazing that you were (and are this time too) so well
