Just that really.

Think on Friday I will be about 6 weeks pregnant. I've been feeling SO thirsty all the time for a few weeks now. Never had that with other pregnancies. Also got loads of stretching feelings going on in my uterus often throughout the day. Also it is uncomfortable leaning forwards, I already feel like there is something in there and I tho k my stomach looks bigger already too.

I am still breastfeeding a 1 Yr old so I know that increases chances by 9 times, and my dad is a fraternal twin.

Feeling sick already although only one morning so far has it felt absolutely awful.

Anyone else feeling similar?

That's funny @mummytomylittlegirl I can definitely feel something there and haven't felt that in other pregnncies. It's making me nervous!

Thanks for the advice!! I have a high bmi and I was nearly 40 when I fell pregnant, but no other things so unlikely then. Probably for the best tbh, I'll come back in a few weeks if it is!!

ChikiTIKI · 03/06/2021 11:01

Yes please do @thelovelychebbymcgee! Hope everything goes well xxx

My husband is convinced we will have twins. I've tried explaining that my being an identical twin doesn't make a difference to the chances and that we are blessed if we end up with 1 healthy baby nevermind 2. He agrees with me when I say it but I'm sure he secretly still believes it's going to be 2... Xx

dopeyduck · 03/06/2021 12:34

@ChikiTIKI - a bit off topic but I never knew breastfeeding increased your chances of twins!
I am still feeding my 18 month old and trying for #2. I intend to keep feeding him until he wants to naturally wean and I hope a pregnancy doesn't ruin my supply and end it for us!
I'd love to hear how it goes if you are too keen to keep feeding through pregnancy and beyond. I know people manage it but it seems to be a mixed bag.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and hope it all goes smoothly for you

ChikiTIKI · 03/06/2021 12:42

Thanks @dopeyduck 🙂 DD is 14 months and just feeding once a day now in the morning. I'm expecting it to phase out sometime soon, but don't really mind at the moment. I did drop the evening feed a few weeks ago because I just didn't want to do it any more, and she didnt mind, goes off to sleep with no problems.

I realised yesterday I don't really have sore boobs like I usually would in pregnancy and wonder if that's to do with bf.

@ChikiTIKI my DS only really takes three feeds in the day, morning, nap time and bedtime. He wakes in the night for some milk anywhere between once and 4 times usually. He is on and off like a yo-yo every time he’s injured / bumped / sad / anything else. But I don’t mind it.
He sleeps fine when I work and obviously doesn’t have milk then (varies as I’m a shift worker) but he shows no signs of stopping or cutting down any more than this.
Tbh he’s a happy little boy generally and doesn’t cause too much drama really so I don’t mind it.
He’s mastered the art of not waking me up too much in the night to feed as he co - sleeps with me so I let him get on with it

I'm 9+5 today and found out it was triplets at 5+6 at the EPU but at 7+6 we found out one of the embyros never developed. Luckily, the fraternal twin embryos had strong heartbeats.

This is my first pregnancy so I have nothing to compare it to, but I felt super nauseas - like motion sickness - from 4 weeks. I also had a lot of pelvic pain early on but the doctor said she thinks thats because by uterus was quickly stretching to accommodate for the extra babies!

EssentialHummus · 03/06/2021 15:52

I’m expecting twins and yes, severe nausea, thirst, tiredness - just basically all the symptoms cranked right up - were there right from the start. I’m in the second trimester now and it’s slowly gotten better - except now I look full term Confused. Congrats to everyone.

ChikiTIKI · 03/06/2021 18:13

That's good @dopeyduck
I can never get my periods to return until I reduce down to 2 feeds a day. Must be just the way I am I suppose! 🙂

Congrats @penny92 on the twins, I'm sorry the third little buddy didn't make it xx

Glad you're feeling better now @essentialhummus and congrats to you too!

Starting to feel increasingly sick each day, but I had breakfast before even getting out of bed this morning which helped.

Is there any point in mentioning my twin suspicions at my booking in appointment? I'm assuming not... 12 week scan seems so long away, if we get that far 🙏🏻 think I'm 6 weeks and 1 day now.

Hi, me again. I'm kind of updating for the person who finds this thread in 6 years time and is wondering about twins too..

I still don't know obviously, but am feeling soooo sick and completely exhausted. I did get my covid jab end of last week though so it may be caused by that I'm not sure. I'm exhausted all day rather than just from about 8pm like with other pregnancies.

Ogwen · 08/06/2021 15:32

Hi @ChikiTIKI, I’m still here. Just woken up from a nap Grin Can’t make it through the day without one at the moment. I know what you mean about being exhausted all day- I feel really spaced out and clumsy too.

Having done some reading about pregnancy and IBS though, I think it’s more likely my enormous belly is wind rather than a second baby, but who knows?

I’m 8 weeks tomorrow. Booking in appointment next week. I had the very unexpected but very happy news at the weekend that my brother’s partner is pregnant! She’s 12 weeks. It took every drop of willpower not to squeal ‘me too!!!!’ when she told me! Now I’m just trying to get through the next 4 weeks….

Twinmammaplusone · 08/06/2021 15:37

@ChikiTIKI are you having an early scan?!

I have twins and definitely didn’t know early on. However, I did have a dream the year before that I would have twins. I also didn’t know that bf increases the chance of twins! I think the fraternal twins being hereditary is only on the maternal side. But let us know when you know.

ChikiTIKI · 08/06/2021 16:49

Aww that's lovely @Ogwen!! Even if you have a singleton, the cousins could be born on the same day and be twin cousins!! 😀

Probably won't have an early scan @twimammaplusone if I have to pay... Had an early scan in hospital with dd2 but thats because we thought I was having a miscarriage again, so would rather avoid that scenario! I ended up paying £400 for NIPT last time after nhs tests came back close to the high chance boundary for a couple of things... I'm kind of thinking of saving my money until I know those results. Also about 14 weeks turned out to be a great time for a private scan... Small enough that you can see the whole baby at once, but developed enough that they really look like a real baby 🙂😍

Woke up to brown tinged ewcm this morning... Feeling worried 😔

OP posts:
Ogwen · 09/06/2021 09:57

Sorry to hear that @ChikiTIKI. Fingers crossed for you it turns out to be nothing. I know it’s silly to say, but try not to worry Flowers

ChikiTIKI · 09/06/2021 10:25

Thanks @ogwen
Not had anything more since first thing this morning. I'm back to being a full-time pants checker again!! Feeling worried and a bit helpless. Also having the "javelin arse" feeling often mentioned here in mumsnet... Not sure what that's about.

ChikiTIKI · 09/06/2021 10:42

I also feel even more sick today 😑

Pardon?! Not familiar with this one!

ChikiTIKI · 09/06/2021 11:25

Haha! I must sound like a right weirdo then! It's a sort of stabby pain in the bum that normally comes along when people have their period.

OP posts:
Ogwen · 09/06/2021 12:23

Well. You learn something new every day! Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

ChikiTIKI · 09/06/2021 18:45

Thanks @ogwen 🙂 had clear cm all day since this morning. Hoping it was a one off. If it happens again from Friday or beyond, I will be past 7 weeks then so I suppose I will go to the EGU for a scan.

ChikiTIKI · 10/06/2021 19:02

I've realised as my nausea has got increasingly worse over the last few days, I have been drinking less water out of fear of having too much at once and being sick. I don't think I ever felt this sick in the afternoons and evenings in my other pregnancies. I'm sure it's either a boy or twins, as I already have 2 girls.
