Hi,

I’m due in February according to online calculators. I wonder if anyone has received their nhs scan date, and how many weeks would you be when you get your scan?

I’ve not had any contact from my midwife yet, expecting it soon!

ReignsMummyX · 29/06/2021 06:48

@stellaglamski it's so hard to pass the time without googling everything constantly, which we all know only ever tells you the worst and you should never do it lol.
@CNizzle yeah it's so scary, I've actually found myself wishing for a bit of sicknessGrinGrincrazy I know!

Hope2022 · 29/06/2021 07:16

@SR092 welcome 🤗

I’ve just had my nhs scan date, I’ll be 12 weeks exactly if all calculations are correct!

Hope2022 · 29/06/2021 07:19

So I’m having a private scan today and today is the first time I have woken up and not felt absolutely terrible.. these bloody symptoms are a pain aren’t they!

I had a mmc and didn’t find out until 12 weeks but I had allllll the symptoms so I don’t think not having symptoms is necessarily a bad thing?! I have friends who have had no sickness and had multiple healthy babies!! 😊 Don’t panic ladies! Im sure the sickness will come your way very soon 🤢

glasspaw · 29/06/2021 07:34

@Neom87 there are actually two vloggers I watch who have emetophobia and are currently pregnant. Zoe Sugg & The Anna Edit. They both did great first trimester roundup videos which could be useful for you given you have the same :)

LKB89 · 29/06/2021 08:05

I'm the same!
From ovulation I'm about 6 weeks 1 day today.

My boobs are bigger, like ski slopes, and sometimes either really throbbing or not so much, I don't have sickness yet apart from one morning last week I immediately felt sick when I opened my eyes but then it tailed off. Just not a lot of symptoms at all!

I had a gynae appointment on Friday, unrelated to pregnancy, to check on the ovarian cyst I have, but she scanned me to check anyway and could only find a sac, nothing else, so has asked be back in 2 weeks to check it's viable, in that case will decide on surgery for me for the cyst.

I'm so scared 😭 I've read a lot of stuff online like 5 weeks is too early to see much more than the sac, but also read a few posts where they could see the yolk too!

They also found I have a tilted uterus which I've also read can make it harder to see a baby! Don't know if I'm clutching at straws here!

Has anyone else had this? X

@Neom87 I hate hate vomiting also. I'm 8 weeks and haven't been sick or felt very sick yet. Almost one third of women don't feel sick, and only half of the 70% that do feel sick actually vomit. Plus I read that those that hate being sick can control it better during pregnancy because we are so used to not vomiting. Hopefully you'll be in the lucky third that don't get pregnancy nausea and sickness 🤞

Neom87 · 29/06/2021 09:22

Thanks @glasspaw I will look them up, interested to hear their experiences!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 those statistics make me feel hopeful! I wasn't actually sick for about 15 years, and then around christmas 2018 time I got two bugs within a couple of months of each other and the inevitable happened. In a way, I do feel that helped as obviously I lived to tell the tale!

Hope2022 · 29/06/2021 09:53

Had my private scan this morning, measuring 7wk3days and really strong heart beat 🥳😬

overtherainbo · 29/06/2021 10:01

Congratulations @Hope2022 I'm also 7+3 today too!

Hope2022 · 29/06/2021 10:13

Thank you @overtherainbo 😊 Yay twins 😂

Sometimes the dates can be miscalculated or it really is too early to see. Perhaps an internal scan may help?

Give it some time & hopefully by 7 weeks you'll see everything along with a heartbeat too!

Wishing you luckkkk x

rz2022 · 29/06/2021 11:57

Hi just wondering were they able to do an abdominal ultrasound?

rz2022 · 29/06/2021 11:58

@buttercupBlue

Hope2022 · 29/06/2021 12:32

@rz2022 I had an abdominal scan, just need to make sure I had a full bladder!

Hope2022 · 29/06/2021 12:34

@LKB89 definitely give it a week or two! I’ve read early scans are best 7 weeks on, just to ensure you can see everything!

Positive thinking and take care! Hopefully these weeks pass quickly for you and you can get an answer xxxx

choccrumpet · 29/06/2021 12:39

I'm 6 weeks (from ovulation) today and the nausea has ramped up, feeling on the verge of 🤮 but still surprisingly hungry and am managing to eat something for and between meals, just feeling really nauseous before and afterwards.

Have my first scan booked for 7 weeks, according to google that's the best earliest time to hopefully see something 🤞🏼

feb2022 · 29/06/2021 12:48

@choccrumpet I've been feeling really sickly today too 🤢
I'm ravenously hungry all the time but when I eat if I have that 1 bite too many urgh that's it I feel like it's going to re-emerge at any second

Winnie87 · 29/06/2021 12:50

Just had an appointment with my midwife and being referred to consultant. My first baby was heavy 9lb 12!! The delivery wasn't good either. Hoping this baby won't be as big as I have a feeling they'll offer a c section or early induction.. have dating scan 2 weeks time so I'm focusing on that for now 🙂

Also my sickness is awful but they are reluctant to give me repeat anti sickness tablets but it the only way I'm managing to keep things down some of the time

choccrumpet · 29/06/2021 12:52

@feb2022 I feel the exact same! I'm cutting down the sizes of my meals so I'm probably not eating enough but I'm afraid it'll come back up if I eat more. I'm probably trying to have something more often though.

Also wfh and staring at computer screens & talking in calls is making me feel so much worse. I don't know how people deal with this in a physical job or an office environment, you are incredible if you can 🙃

ButtercupBlue · 29/06/2021 12:59
@buttercupBlue
It was @Hope2022 who had the scan :)

But fwiw, I've had lots and lots of scans across my 7 previous pregnancies, with NHS scans I've always had to have internal before 8 weeks but with private scans they've always been abdominal and the earliest I've seen the heartbeat on scan was at 6w2d and that was an abdominal, private scan). I think some of it is equipment, some technique and some biology! I've got a retoverted uterus and a bit of a pudgy tum even when not pregnant (it's where I carry all my weight) so probably not ideal to scan!

Hth.

Hope2022 · 29/06/2021 14:08

Midwife called earlier to book me all in and complete my book 😊 it’s all getting a little
More real now 😬

Nausea and lack of energy are my main symptoms at the moment, I’ve found but about 5/6pm nausea subsides generally. I’ve definitely found eating helps but I’ve noticed I need to rest during bigger meals 🙈

Hope sickness gets better for those who are really struggling with it!!

Lcj80 · 29/06/2021 14:18

Hi everyone! I’m also expecting in February. 4th baby and this one was a bit of a surprise. I was really unsure of dates so had an early dating scan on Friday and they said I was approx 5+4 so 6+2 now with an EDD of 20th Feb. However I started spotting yesterday which ramped up into full heavy bleeding my this morning. Just been for a scan at EPAU and unbelievably all looks ok. Measurement is fine, heart beat seen and no bleeding around the sac so just been told to come home and rest. Still feel absolutely terrified as the bleeding is like a heavy period which I can feel coming away 😢 (sorry tmi). They’ve booked me another scan in a couple of weeks but need to try and stay calm and positive until then. Never had a MC before. Look forward to chatting with you all xx
