i m also 6 week and they see the sac in internal ultrasound but didn't see anything else and have onther appointment in 2 week
Winterfellismyhome · 16/06/2021 07:58

Anyone else really struggling with hayfever. Want to rip my eyes out atm 😭

Huffthepuff · 16/06/2021 08:11

@choccrumpet I was able to self refer to the early pregnancy unit as I've had an ectopic before so they like to do an early scan to check it's in the right place xx

SBfern · 16/06/2021 08:11

Is anyone else having tiny bits of spotting after a bowel movement?

It's the only time I notice pink discharge!

lovelly · 16/06/2021 08:15

yes before missed period have pinkinsh tiny spotting then next day brown third gone but first day of spotting got rhoghum shot because i m o negative .
Huffthepuff · 16/06/2021 08:16

@lovelly oh wow! Was the surgery in the UK? How was it? Thanks for sharing, I didn't know if that was possible

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/06/2021 08:18

@SBfern I only had this once at 4+4 or something, and I was constipated. No bleeding materialised, just faint pink discharge, no cramps. Has it been happening for long? If you're worried may be worth asking GP.

Has anyone's boobs stopped hurting completely? Woke up this morning and they're totally pain free. Still look heavy and bigger nipples, but strange they don't ache at all after how painful they've been recently

Yes me!!! It is so debilitating! I could of scratched my face off on the way home from work this morning. I tried saline make spray at the weekend and it did sweet fa 😫
Amy00 · 16/06/2021 08:23

@Huffthepuff congratulations on your scan yesterday! So pleased for you

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks. I hope this week whizzes by for you - and all of us! I know we shouldn't be wishing our lives away and should be enjoying being pregnant but I just want to skip out this first trimester!

Thanks @choccrumpet just 10 days to go! 😬 that's really interesting about your uterus. I hope they take you seriously and do extra scans etc

@MrsBlue1986 aww look at the little bean on your scan! That's great they've done all those tests. Did they find anything out? I've just had the NHS RMC tests and have the diagnoses of "unexplained recurrent miscarriages" which is super helpful. If this one doesn't work out I'm going private. I'd be up for Facebook, I'll join now!

@swiggles my private scan is allowing partners and so is my EPU now thankfully. Last year they weren't allowing partners in the building so my OH had to stay outside for hours while I was in there for my mc 😥
Wow I'd never heard of that issue with the bile before! Can you get tested for it early or just have to wait and see with everything crossed?

@Sophiederuges oh what a pain having to travel 40 mins for the drugs! I must be lucky it was in stock at my local pharmacy though I'm on a lower dose of 200mg twice a day.

@Miller2021 I started a diary last time but I went on to have a mmc and now I can't stand the sight of the diary but also can't bring myself to Chuck it so personally I won't be starting one until I'm further along and probably close to 12 weeks! But it was nice doing it while it lasted and odds are you will have a successful pregnancy so if you want to then go for it!

@Winterfellismyhome omg yes my eyes are SO itchy!!! It's horrendous. So annoying I think we aren't supposed to take antihistamines 😩

choccrumpet · 16/06/2021 08:24

@lovelly that's brilliant that you got it sorted out with surgery. Did you have a septum going down the middle or was it a severe heart shape?

@Huffthepuff thanks that's good to know, hopefully I'll be able to find out more about being seen soon.

Tiredandobsessed · 16/06/2021 08:25

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Mine have done this a couple of times, stayed heavy and bigger but not painful then 24hrs later they woke me up with the pain. Assuming it's the fluctuating HCG but every little symptom or non-symptom is such a mind game isn't it?

SBfern · 16/06/2021 08:29

No it's only happened twice and each time it's after I've not been able to go for a couple days. No cramps just the pink discharge so I was curious if anyone else had this before

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/06/2021 08:51

Thanks @Tiredandobsessed hope mine comes back too then soon!

@SBfern I had an early check up and mentioned this and she didn't seem too concerned. I have read that if you're constipated it can irritate the cervix which is swollen with blood at this stage, but tinted discharge is barely any blood

MgW1 · 16/06/2021 08:53

@Winterfellismyhome
Yes me! I get a good nasal spray from G.P its called avamys , seems to be helping x

Psmith83 · 16/06/2021 09:12

Hi everyone! I have been lurking and read the whole thread. It is a great comfort to know so many of you are going through the same things: I am 5 weeks today (due mid Feb) and feeling tired, light headed, hay feverish, constant backache like period and very guilty for not being able to pay much attention to work. It has been a balmy reading all of your stories and not feeling quite so alone.

Last week the day after my period was due I had some light spotting for two days and I can feel so many twinges and pulling which I'm hoping is my uterus making space for the baby. My job is very active so I am trying to take it slow and pay attention when I feel a sharp jab or like something is straining. Trying to look after myself and not put too much pressure.

In the past I have had one molar pregnancy, then a miscarriage, then my son who is now 6 then another miscarriage when he was 2 or 3 and thought I didn't have the mental space to deal with trying to conceive or being pregnant and made my peace with an only child. Fast forward to this year and suddenly at 37 I was like ok, let's try again. So here I am.

I am trying to manage my worry and obsession with journaling and mindfulness. The insomnia is rife this time around: when I wake up at 5 am I do some really gentle breathing and yoga (very slow and gentle) and a bit of writing. I think it is helping. I can feel myself tensing up and wanting to control everything and it's a relief when I remember I can't and all I can do is send breath and good vibes to the baby and hope for the best.
I have contacted the midwife and my booking in is next week. I have also contacted the EPAU for the 8 week scan- I had one with my son because of previous molar and it was such a relief to see his heartbeat. All of my losses have been in the 6-8 week mark so the next few weeks I'm going to try and breathe. I keep thinking about how much vigil (I'm Catholic) there is in early pregnancy. Just waiting and hoping in the dark.
I will continue to lurk and probably won't interact much, but will take great strength in knowing that there are lots of women going through the same thing.

Sleepyquest · 16/06/2021 09:29

I feel absolutely terrible today. Tired and extremely bloated, not giving work the attention required as I'm feeling so sorry for myself Sad

Winterfellismyhome · 16/06/2021 09:39

Thanks for that! @MgW1 i spoke to a pharmacist who said i could take an antihistamine but not a nose spray 😥

MgW1 · 16/06/2021 09:55

@Winterfellismyhome
Please call your G.P and tell them over counter stuff not helping. Ayamys is safe in pregnancy , iv used it for years and in previous pregnancy xx

Sycamore89 · 16/06/2021 11:25

@Sleepyquest I know what you mean, definitely not doing the best at work at the moment! It’s so hard when you’re tired and distracted.

@Psmith83 Congratulations! And thanks for sharing tips for how you cope with the insomnia. I’ll give the writing a try.

I’m 6+1 today… am alternating between being exceptionally hungry, and then feeling mildly queasy and like I never want to eat ever again. Quite the rollercoaster. Does anyone have any tips on how to manage this?

Sleepyquest · 16/06/2021 11:56

@Sycamore89 eat little and often, plain crackers and toast and what you fancy when you can!

Sophiederuges · 16/06/2021 13:01

I’m the same @Sycamore89

Don’t do what I did which is to keep to your usual meal times. I got full on nausea when I was hungry and then full on nausea when I ate! So now I eat a little bit when I’m hungry. I’m very partial to fold chicken and strawberries at the moment!

Bells3032 · 16/06/2021 13:06

@Sycamore89 I am having the same....veering between starving and nausea!! no tips i am afraid. just trying to eat less acidic and healthy things that will keep me full.

I am finding it so hard to focus at work atm. just got back from 2 weeks leave - the last day of which i found out i am pregnant. We think i am around 6 weeks. not sure though - waiting til Monday for a scan.

Between the heat and the nerves and the shock I am finding it so hard to focus on anything.

Tiredandobsessed · 16/06/2021 13:45

@Winterfellismyhome

Thanks for that! *@MgW1* i spoke to a pharmacist who said i could take an antihistamine but not a nose spray 😥
I'd maybe get a second opinion on that as 2 pharmacists were very adamant I couldn't take an antihistamine and Dr Google says that the doc has to prescribe them if really struggling, it's something to do with the decongestant element. I know each situation is different but just wanted you to know what I've been told x
MgW1 · 16/06/2021 13:54

@Tiredandobsessed
Its on NHS website says safe. The prescribing name is Fluticasone Furoate. Im a nurse practitioner and there are antihistamines safe to use. Severe hayfever is terrible ans really gets you down!!

LG93 · 16/06/2021 14:14

I'm another who took antihistamines through first pregnancy, will second avamys! Some studies suggest that the decongestant element could be harmful, but there's no real evidence to back it up, and a nasal spray would be preferable to a tablet as the effects are localised rather than systemic. It's all a game of risk/benefit and it wasn't an option for me to suffer for 9 months as my allergies are awful!

Just catching up on everyone's posts, have been AWOL as my hyperemesis kicked in last week. After lots of back and forth with a GP who appeared to be in the 'its just normal pregnancy' camp banding about some scary stats eventually got some antiemetics yesterday, and he gave me the ones that disolve under your tongue so they're easier to keep down. Still fill nauseous but at least I'm not being sick so that's a win I guess! I'm grateful this is my 2nd pregnancy as if it was my first I could see me being put off by what he said and ending up being admitted, so was glad I had the strength and knowledge from last time to advocate for myself!

Have also joined the Facebook group 😊
