34 weeks this week... and I can't stop eating! 🙈 I'm so hungry! Anyone else the same?

HumunaHey · 26/05/2021 09:55

@Julybaby2021 I'd say it's a bit early in to lose your mucus plug. Was there alot? My discharge varies throughout pregnancy. If it wasn't very much, I wouldn't think anytof it but best to mention to your midwife.

Luckyelephant1 · 26/05/2021 10:39

@Lullabymummy17 I'm a few days behind you but same! But the hunger is not really for full meals, it's always for snacks, porridge or cereal, my stomach seems to have a bottomless pit for things like that Cake

Foxglovesandlilacs · 26/05/2021 11:49

@Julybaby2021 it’s possible but it would be quite early. Tbh losing the mucous plug doesn’t always mean much, It does renew itself if you don’t go into labour within a certain amount of time after losing it. I remember losing mine over and over again for the last 3 or 4 weeks of my last pregnancy. Did it have blood in it? That’s usually a sign that things might be happening.

I googled it last time to see what it was supposed to look like as I’d never noticed losing it before, I wouldn’t recommend doing this if you have a delicate stomach Grin

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/05/2021 13:32

Fwiw in my previous 5 pregnancies i have only noticed myself loosing my plug once! And that was after a pretty violent sweep!

34+3 and yes my appetite is definitley ramping up

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I’m in two minds about having my vaccine while still pregnant I asked my midwife about it last week and she didn’t fill me with confidence about having it and didn’t really offer much advice.

Glad you’re feeling ok though after yours - we’re you advised to have it by your midwife?

PurpleCurtain · 26/05/2021 15:00

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE

Morning all

Just wanted to let you all know i had the pfizer jab yesterday at 34+2. Feel fine so far except i have a dead arm!

Just booked in for mine for next week - very excited and feeling grateful for the opportunity to give baby some antibodies. Did they just know to give you pfizer? I had expected the booking thing to ask me whether I was pregnant (though I guess I'm also under 40 where they'd be offering Pfizer or Moderna anyway!).

For anyone unsure - do also think about how long it will be until you are fully vaccinated (and therefore fully protected from eg indian variant which requires both doses to protect from it) if you wait until after baby is here!

PurpleCurtain · 26/05/2021 15:16

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I would take a look at the RCOG guidance - my midwife said that's what they've been told to signpost people to!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 26/05/2021 15:21

Thanks @PurpleCurtain I’ll take a look - I just don’t know what to do for the best.

I just think do they know the long term effects on the babies - cos it’s not been put long enough to know.

I’m 100% happy to get mine once the baby is here I just don’t want risk anything when I only have 7 weeks to go before the baby is here anyway.....but I’ll take a read and make some decisions. X

Pinkroseuk · 26/05/2021 15:34

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I'm waiting to get mine after baby is born. I will probably book in for it second week after baby is born so hubby is still about on paternity leave in case I feel awful!
There just hasn't been enough research done yet for my liking to have it with baby still inside. I'm happy to stay in/just out for walks for another 12 weeks after if the Indian variant takes off!

PurpleCurtain · 26/05/2021 15:35

@TiredAlreadyOhDear you're right, but they don't know anything about the long term impact on adults, either!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 26/05/2021 15:40

@Pinkroseuk @PurpleCurtain it’s such a hard decision to make isn’t it! I’m on the fence I need to properly read up tonight as I got my text saying I’m in the bracket for my vaccine now.

I said to my partner - I bet which ever decision I make will the be wrong one haha it’s just my luck - I’ll have it and it will have bad side effects or I won’t and all the babies who had it will be like genius when they get older hahaha!

My first decision as a mum and I’m
On the fence - this doesn’t bode well for things to come poor baby! X

Lullabymummy17 · 26/05/2021 15:41

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE @Luckyelephant1 I'm glad it's not just me! I'm definitely eating for three this week 😂 yes, cereal, cheese and ice lollies/ice cream are firm favourites this week 😋

Julybaby2021 · 26/05/2021 18:34

@HumunaHey @Foxglovesandlilacs thanks for your replies. I ended up having to go to EOU.. i have had bad period like cramps and i was hunched over with them. They checked me & baby - all fine there.. the only thing they found was a urine infection. Which im now on antibiotics for. Glad i went & got checked over. The d/c was just abit extra and they weren't concerned for it at all. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in. Im still alittle hunched over with it being sore but not as bad as last night ☺️🙏 xxx

Foxglovesandlilacs · 26/05/2021 20:54

@Julybaby2021 oh no you poor thing! Urine infections are the worst! And can be so painful. I remember going in with my second thinking g I might be having contractions and it turned out to be a uti, it was horrible I really do feel for you! Xx

HumunaHey · 26/05/2021 23:07

@Julybaby2021 Glad you got checked out and the UTI was discovered. Good to know baby is fine too! I'm sure the antibiotics will kick in soon enough and the suffering will stop soon. Period like cramps whilst pregnant does not sound fun at all!

Foxglovesandlilacs · 27/05/2021 08:38

I woke up this morning with a horrible cough and bad chest, scared myself thinking it was COVID! Just done a test and it’s negative, but it’s made my mind up for me about the vaccine, I’m going to have it.

On the upside, I finished my cupboard! I dont have a before pic, and I can’t quite reach the back of the top shelf to paint it so DH will do that at the weekend, @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE

July 2021 (thread 4) maybe there will be more babies?
TiredAlreadyOhDear · 27/05/2021 09:15

@Foxglovesandlilacs love the cupboard! It looks fab! And so organised!

Foxglovesandlilacs · 27/05/2021 10:59

Whoops didn’t mean to @ you snowflake!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 27/05/2021 12:45

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 27/05/2021 18:38

OP posts:
Mummy2O · 27/05/2021 19:30

I have had my ECS booked for the 15th July - two days before my due date. 7 weeks to go (or sooner Grin).

Foxglovesandlilacs · 27/05/2021 20:35

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE lol thanks! I’m planning another one now, it’s made all my other cupboards look rubbish!

@Mummy2O how exciting! Must be nice knowing the date you will meet your baby.

It’s been hot here today. I think I’m going to struggle if/when it gets hotter than this. Going to have to get an air con unit or something!
