Congratulations @PeanutButterFalcon @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE fab news xx

PurpleCurtain · 29/06/2021 12:59

Great news on the new arrivals Grin

I now have a first sweep booked for this time next week, for the first time this all feels real and imminent!!!

Gilbertsaurus · 29/06/2021 17:23

Hi all
Bit late to the party but also due in July, baby boy due next week on July 8th! Getting extremely bored as was sent off work at 28weeks due to risk of Covid exposure. Thought it was great at the time but has meant a looooong wait for baby with not much to do.
Sweep booked for next week on my due date

filledeberlin · 29/06/2021 19:09

Congratulations everybody it’s so exciting to hear your wonderful news! I think I lost my mucus plug Sunday, very sticky, clear, snot like - about as big as a £2 coin. I got very excited but not much has happened since although I’m definitely feeling more pressure further down and my boyfriend says my bump has dropped. I’m walking every day and sat on my birthing ball every evening. My sweep will be a week on Friday when I am 39 weeks + 3.

Fartymcfart · 29/06/2021 20:39

Congratulations on all the new babies.

HumunaHey · 29/06/2021 22:05

Congratulations @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE! Hope birth went well. I think I remember you saying you had an anterior placenta. Did baby come out back to back?

@milkshakeandchips5 I also have an anterior placenta and had a quiet period a couple of weeks back. I barely felt kicks across two days. DH felt nothing. On the second day I felt immensely stupid for waiting so long to get checked out. I went to triage and baby was fine. It's quite nerve wracking isn't it. I haven't had a quite period since. You should definitely get checked out if you get worried. Don't let the anterior placenta put you off. Although your DH is probably right about change of position. It can be trickier for posterior babies to get into the optimum birthing position. It's supposedly more comfy for them to be back to back.

Mummy2O · 29/06/2021 23:06

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE Congratulations!! I hope you are doing OK.

Sweetpea12 · 29/06/2021 23:31

Congratulations @THATbasicSNOWFLAKEand @PeanutButterFalcon fantastic news! The more people who have babies the closer it’s getting for us all 😬 I’ll just be over here freaking out 😂

Littlejacksmummy · 30/06/2021 00:09

Hi everyone. This thread has been great for info and seeing that everyone is freaking out as much as me 😂

My second baby (already have an 18 month old) is due on 22nd July but had my first steroid injection today and second one in the morning. Then on Thursday I will be having a planned c section at 37 weeks on the dot! Baby is small and was 5lb 2oz last week. My first was 4lb 8oz after an induced birth so its not entirely unexpected.

Argh! Still have things to wash, busy day tomorrow 😂😂😂

Jane1811 · 30/06/2021 09:27

Congrats on all the babies born recently - how exciting!!

filledeberlin · 30/06/2021 11:56

Is anyone feeling really tired and sick? I have had so much energy last 2 days, been shopping and cleaning and nesting and today it’s like a truck has hit me. Most unusually I have no appetite and no desire other to lie very still and feel sorry for myself and try not to worry about all the stuff I feel I should be doing! I’m so tired but it’s very difficult for me to switch off and sleep but also to focus on reading or watching Tv so lying staring at my phone it is Grin

PurpleCurtain · 30/06/2021 12:56

@filledeberlin yes, but I haven't had the two days full of energy that you talk about! Worried that if baby doesn't come soon, there's no way I'll manage labour as I am so run down and exhausted and it's just accumulating! I literally don't know how to sleep any more no matter how tired I feel.

Sweetpea12 · 30/06/2021 14:05

I have been feeling tired like that too but no nesting has taken place and it really needs to lol can I ask for anyone who knows their baby is engaged how it feels? My babies head was down but towards my inner thigh and the doctor said he hadn't far to go before he would engage and now I’m having cramping on and off. Would this happen before the head engages? I’m thinking it’s braxton hicks

filledeberlin · 30/06/2021 14:31

@PurpleCurtain sorry to hear you’ve been feeling rubbish too, and that’s been my exact worry today also. I feel even if labour was to start today I just wouldn’t be able to do it. Confused

pinkgin8 · 30/06/2021 18:46

Only way I can describe it is a constant pressure feeling? Then feelings of intense pressure when certain movements happen etc
MillyJS · 30/06/2021 20:00

@Sweetpea12 My midwife says mine's 3/5 engaged (I'm 37 weeks), & I've definitely noticed I've been able to breathe a bit deeper the past week or so, but other than that I can't tell a difference.

Is anyone else expecting baby number one and completely freaking out about giving birth in the next few weeks?! I've been a bit blasé about it up until now but it's all feeling very real & I won't lie - I'm terrified! 😬

onanadventure · 30/06/2021 22:31

Did anyone else feel sad to give up work?
Due to due date, I'm mid way through a project cycle and it feels weird to be stopping mid cycle and that I'm not leaving things in a good state - even tho work and I have a plan to cover my part of it. (I did try really hard to get it so that the timings lined up but then the project dates changed).

I'm also kinda sad to be stopping and I'll miss it.

Mentally it's definitely time as I can feel my brain slowing down and baby could turn up at any point - but I kinda wish I could stay!

Is that weird?

Sweetpea12 · 30/06/2021 22:45

@MillyJS I’m still getting out of breath now and approaching 38 weeks on Monday I feel like my baby won’t engage until the very last minute it’s like he doesn’t know where to go lol I’m freaking out about labour soon because I feel like being pregnant dragged in and now the birth it’s 2/3 weeks away possibly and I can’t believe it. Are you all prepared hospital bags etc?

Lexi21 · 30/06/2021 23:16

Hi Guys!

Hope you don’t mind me joining, Ive pretty much missed the boat for the June thread as my due date was yesterday (29th) and there’s still no sign of baby boy (DC1) and ive tried EVERYTHING to get things moving so it looks like he’s going to be a July baby!

Ive had a pretty straight forward pregnancy but i’ve really struggled from about 36 weeks with the horrific pressure in my pelvis, killer heartburn/acid reflux and carpel tunnel in my hands!

This waiting game is sending me stir crazy to be honest as i just want to get the birth out the way now, everyone keeps telling me to relax which im really trying to do but im so uncomfortable i feel like i have a toddler inside me at this point & i can’t stop thinking about when things finally kick off! I have been having a few cramps here and there but nothing major and alot of watery discharge which im hoping means things might be progressing (sorry TMI) Ive got a midwife app tomorrow at 40+2 for a sweep which i hope this time is successful 🤞Sorry for the rant, hope you’re all doing ok!

MillyJS · 01/07/2021 06:26

@Sweetpea12 Same! I've got my bags packed (only just!) but feeling totally unprepared otherwise. How about you? I feel like I've been pregnant forever and now, like you, it's all happening in the next few weeks & I'm thinking 'what have I got myself into?!' 😂 I've also convinced myself my baby engaged a bit earlier as he's got a massive head & gravity took over... 😳😂

Pinkroseuk · 01/07/2021 08:26

@MillyJS yes I'm expecting the first and terrified too! Would like to just get it over with now!
I'm not too worried about the birth but more about the needles and if I have to stay in overnight. The thought of being on a ward without hubby is making me go crazy which sounds ridiculous I know!
Are your bags packed and things? I have written down notes on what we have to do to get into the hospital too so I'm not flapping when we get there!

Mummy2O · 01/07/2021 09:31

I am starting to panic about the baby coming early now (not due for another 2 weeks). I do not feel prepared at all this time around. I am hoping it all comes back to me pretty quickly. Confused

saamantha19881 · 01/07/2021 09:48

My little man (Edward) arrived last night at 11:40 pm… probably one of the last June babies 👶

Mummy2O · 01/07/2021 09:50

@saamantha19881 Congratulations!! Lovely name choice. Hope you are both doing OK.

MillyJS · 01/07/2021 10:10

@Pinkroseuk Ahh that's sensible, I should probably do the same! Yep bags are packed but guarantee I've forgotten something essential 😂 Are yours packed?

I don't like the unexpected, so the thought of birth sends my anxiety crazy as you can only plan so much. Even just knowing when it's going to happen would help!

@saamantha19881 Congratulations on your new arrival!
