@PeanutButterFalcon just as rough by the sounds of it! And I have weird pains in my feet (I guess the equivalent of carpal tunnel but in my feet?) that have just added to the fun - a new pain each day it seems. So pleased I'm on mat leave although can't help but think I'm wasting it - had visions of being super productive / reading lots of books/ perhaps even decorating but all I'm managing is a few naps and mindless internet scrolling!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/06/2021 13:20

I'm feeling frustrated as over 50 hours since sweep and all i have is occasional cramps Sad

I’m not feeling too bad but think I have longer than you ladies to go! I’m only 37 weeks so still got a good few weeks before I’m expecting anything. I’m still working too.

I can’t wait for more baby announcements and names!

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like it’s not actually going to happen, it just doesn’t feel real to me yet! Xx

Bunny2021 · 25/06/2021 13:41

@TiredAlreadyOhDear - yep! Can’t actually think beyond giving birth. We come home, then what?!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 25/06/2021 13:44

@Bunny2021 I know my other half keeps saying to me what will we do when we get home with him/her and I’m like I don’t have a clue!

I just can’t imagine that I’m going to have a baby soon it’s madness! Xx

Mummy2O · 25/06/2021 13:51

3 weeks seems like both forever away and far too soon to me. I still feel like I have loads of sorting out to do.

I have been doing some batch cooking for the freezer this afternoon. We are going to be sick of lasagne quite quickly. Grin

PeanutButterFalcon · 25/06/2021 14:15

@PurpleCurtain definitely a new pain every day, just not the ones we’re wanting! Everyone keeps saying to enjoy may leave before the baby comes, sleeping is the activity I appear to enjoy most currently.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE are you having another sweep?

@TiredAlreadyOhDear definitely not thought further than giving birth and the weeks seem to be getting longer. Hope you’re finding work ok.

@Mummy2O Please send some my way

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/06/2021 14:28

@PeanutButterFalcon i wasn't offered one, mw seemed to think that one would do the trick and having had two sucessful ones in the past so did i Sad

Got my cs date today, so a max of 3 more weeks for me, unless baby makes it's own appearance.

Was quicker than I thought it would be and makes me feel much more relaxed.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I really feel for you thought you'd be on your way by now.

@Flittingaboutagain congratulations

Warrickdaviesasplates · 25/06/2021 18:23

I finally started getting some bits for my hospital bag today. I still need DH to go into the loft and get the actual bag down for me but at least I've now got nappies, pads, wipes, shower gel etc.

I'm taking DD into town this weekend to buy baby a special outfit for when they come home and a comforter/soft toy (and a special big girl lunch with cake) which is something we did before her little brother was born as well so we've been looking forward to it for a while.

Good luck to everyone who is very near the end, I'm due right at the end of July so still have a full month to go (or six weeks if baby is late) so I am feeling a little jealous of those getting things going! Although I expect I will be rethinking my jealousy when I'm at 41 weeks or feeling contractions.

Can you not request a second sweep instead? And if that didn't work in 24/48 hr then have an induction? There's always a chance a first won't work that's why your allowed three x
THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/06/2021 23:05

@pinkgin8 i think thats what i am going to do on monday, if they cant just break my waters ill request a sweep and postpone induction

Hi all. Just want to update you all. Friday 8am my water broke and I think contraction soon after kicked in every 20min or so. Went to hospital at 10am, after an assessment I was informed I'm 2cm dilated and to go home and come back if things get worse. Went home and after 30min back after at the hospital. 1pm now and 5cm dilated. Contractions are every 5min now and longer. Was taken up to a room and preparations were made etc. Had three amazing nurse and my husband with me plus the gas.
Requester an epidural, doctor came and started work, I think a test shot was given before they could get ready for the real shot, pain was increasing and she was ready to come out!
3.55pm and my dear daughter was arrived weighting 5.9lbs. Next day (yesterday) I was discharged at 3pm.

Just want to thank everyone for sharing their journey and wishing you all the best for you x.
