Ah right OK, I think I thought you meant they would refuse even if overdue.

Devonfirsttimemum93 · 24/06/2021 08:49

Been a bit of a lurker here but so exciting that it’s nearly time for a lot of us!
After doing everything I could possible do to turn baby around, looks like I will be booked in for a c-section around 39 weeks, currently 36 weeks so feels very close now! Anyone else having a csection for whatever reason? ☺️

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 24/06/2021 09:28

In my case the mw did double check that the consultant had requested i have the sweep. I don't think she would have just done it on my request (at 38+3)

@Devonfirsttimemum93 I'm booked in for a section in 3 weeks (Ekk that seems soon now! ). This will be my second - I had an emergency one the first time around. My baby is currently breech so I would probably be having one even if I hadn't chosen to. How are you feeling about it?

Flittingaboutagain · 24/06/2021 10:13

Hi ladies some of you will have seen on another thread but for those who remember me from the June bus and testing pond threads last year, I lost my first baby in the second trimester last year and miraculously got pregnant again straight away after.

And I want to update that little one came on father's day as a huge surprise at just 36 weeks with a spontaneous vaginal delivery. Home now after a few days of extra care and my heart is bursting. It has taken 3 years to get her and I never imagined I could feel so much all at once. The relief is immense.

Good luck to you all. However baby comes, I hope you are both safe and well and the last few weeks go by as smoothly as possible!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 24/06/2021 10:16

@Flittingaboutagain Congratulations!! That is wonderful news.

pinkgin8 · 24/06/2021 11:34

Back from the hospital, 37 weeks was still a bit to early for the sweep, so I'm booked in for next Wednesday to have it done, midwife said my chances of it working will have increased a lot by then too with the way things are already progressing 🤞🤞

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 24/06/2021 12:12

Aww @pinkgin8 hope your not too disapointed! Next weds will soon come around i bet!

@Flittingaboutagain such amazing news - so happy for you! Enjoy every second of it! Xx

pinkgin8 · 24/06/2021 12:30

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I don't mind waiting 6 days! Also increases the chance of it working I guess! Feels like everything is going fast now.
How are you getting on? Any signs?xx

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 24/06/2021 12:35

A few random cramps here and there but nothing else!

Does anyone else feel really nauseous with braxton hicks?

Every time I noticeably get them I feel so sick with it. Also might explain why my nausea has returned as according to my monitoring the other day, I’m having them more frequently than I realised!

Flittingaboutagain · 24/06/2021 13:41

Thank you.

I can't wait for you to have your babies!

Yep! Mine make me feel sick, my heart rate speeds up & I get a bit hot. Midwife said it was completely normal (the joys!) but it's not pleasant as I'm getting them all evening most days now 🙈
filledeberlin · 24/06/2021 17:50

@pinkgin8

I think sometimes some midwifes don't do a sweep unless there is a medical reason with your or baby / the pregnancy. That's just how some are, they won't offer until your 40 weeks, because they don't want to "interfere" making the baby come early if they don't have a "proper reason" which is why it's good places offer them privately if that happens. Where as some from 37 weeks onwards are ok referring you for a sweep for whatever your reason (within reason)

I didn't even know what a sweep was until maybe three weeks ago if that! Didn't even know they existed 🤣

I didn’t know they existed either until I read about it in the positive birth book then I asked my midwife and she said it would be offered on my next appointment which is in 2 weeks.
THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 24/06/2021 18:08

I'm feeling really rough, sick and headachey 🤢 can't wait to put the dc to bed, have a bath and fall asleep

Mummy2O · 24/06/2021 19:56

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Had another growth scan today, baby is still off the scale apparently, so I've opted for a c-section rather than induction so am just waiting for a date now.

Everything else is looks really good with the baby. Really need to get sorted now

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 24/06/2021 22:22

Roll on a few weeks and hopefully we’ll all have our babies and be feeling so much lighter and more mobile!

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 25/06/2021 06:58

I've finally started maternity leave and am looking forward to hopefully getting some rest before baby arrives. My pelvis is so sore now, I just hope the pain eases once baby is here!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/06/2021 09:53

Welcome to mat leave @FirstTimeMummy2021!

Congratulations! Hope you're all settled in at home with your little princess. Did you do anything to help encourage your body for birth. I had a c section with my DD and am praying for a vaginal birth so I've been eating dates & have some herbal tea.

Anyone got any encourage natural labour tips?

PeanutButterFalcon · 25/06/2021 12:56

@grace1989x I’m walking and bouncing on my ball but no luck so far! Well I’m trying to I’m still stupidly tired, struggling to move with groin pain, and have what feels like a stitch today in my side. So ready for this to be over.

How’s everyone else feeling?
