@PurBal every slight stomach twinge I’m getting excited and then nothing! The ball definitely intensified them last night.
I can sympathise with you there, I keep getting stuck in positions where my hip gives out. So ready to feel more mobile again

Is everyone taking full length baby grows for their baby’s in hospital? Or should we maybe be taking the ones with the shirt sleeves and short legs (rompers?). Or a mixture? Xx

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 17/06/2021 08:08

Short*

PeanutButterFalcon · 17/06/2021 08:20

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I’ve got vests and baby grows. If it’s hot then baby can wear the vest. Also got a cardigan incase it’s late at night/cold.

I had the strangest feeling in my bottom last night, that woke me up. Hopefully it’s baby getting closer to the exit!

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 17/06/2021 08:22

I've got a mainly full sleep suits based on what friends have taken but it just feels strange when its so hot to be putting them in a full length sleep suit!
37 weeks now and feel ready for baby to arrive. I really hope I dont go massively overdue as I think my pain from my pelvis will really start to get me down!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 17/06/2021 08:30

Thanks @PeanutButterFalcon and @FirstTimeMummy2021 I’ll just pack sleepsuits and vests then won’t bother with rompers or anything…..hopefully we won’t be in long anyway!

I was 36 weeks yesterday and weighed myself today I’ve put on 29lb so far - really don’t want to gain too much more so want this baby out as close to 37 weeks as possible - but I bet I go over my the full 2 weeks!

Bunny2021 · 17/06/2021 09:23

Hi everyone - I've got my 34 week appointment later today and the notes say 'birth place discussion' - what does this involve?

All my appointments to date have been really routine, bp, pee on a stick etc so not sure what to expect for this one!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 17/06/2021 10:02

Birth place discussion would be ideally where would you like to have your baby. At home / labour ward / birthing center etc

Im just taking vests and sleepsuits for in the hospital, i have a pack of 3 rompers but keeping them at home

PurpleCurtain · 17/06/2021 10:31

I didn't intend to buy any rompers - is there actually a need for them/ a time they come into their own? In fact, I didn't intend to buy anything that wasn't either a short sleeved vest or a full length sleepsuit, unless of course we happen to be gifted anything! I've packed 3 x newborm sized (pairs of vests and sleepsuits) and 2 x 0-3 month sized. I've only had one additional scan (3 weeks ago at 34w) but he was slap bang average size then so here's hoping newborn size fits just fine.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 17/06/2021 10:36

Rompers can just be handy i think as tend to be looser fit than a vest for hot days

Baby is measuring off the charts here, i hope he fits in the upto 10lb things!

Luckyelephant1 · 17/06/2021 11:48

I did intend on just packing sleepsuits and short sleeved vests (3 of each in newborn and 0-3) but I've been given a couple of gorgeous newborn rompers which I'll put in there as well.

How many baby blankets is it worth taking?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 17/06/2021 11:59

Our hospital discourage taking own blankets as they may end up in the hospital wash and are a pain to locate. I would just take one for the journey home.

OP posts:
Luckyelephant1 · 17/06/2021 12:28

Oh really! They're on most lists I see online so I just assumed you need them. I'll check with my midwife.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 17/06/2021 12:37

Yep i think our hospital view it as they dont need the hassel of trying to find anyones particular blanket!

I was going to take 3 baby grows 3 three vests all first size then maybe one 0-3 month of each - then I might put in one romper outfit then at least if he/she is big they can go in that as no arm or leg restrictions hahaha 🤣

Anyone on here been diagnosed with cholestasis?

Mummy2O · 17/06/2021 22:45

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I haven't dared weighing myself. I've put our scales away to stop myself. I feel massive!

Bunny2021 · 17/06/2021 23:12

@hkp288 - I’m borderline. They’ve taken more bloods to see what the latest reading is but waiting to hear back. I’ve got the itchy feet and hands though - so annoying!

Luckyelephant1 · 18/06/2021 08:35

Anyone tested/planning to test themselves for GBS yet?

PeanutButterFalcon · 18/06/2021 09:09

@Luckyelephant1 I had a swab after some bleedin and I’ve got it so have to have antibiotics. I know it’s not routine here.

Mummy2O · 18/06/2021 09:49

@Luckyelephant1 I am going to do a home test. My mum saw something on This Morning about it when my sister in law was expecting her first. She sent away for a kit and found out she had it in the third trimester. It can't hurt to check.
