@Lullabymummy17 congratulations. Have a safe journey home. I can imagine big sis is excited.

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I completely lost all motivation last week I’m now on annual leave it was getting too hot and we weren’t allowed fans in the office.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I thought I had mine done then got told I’m measuring big so added bigger clothes, then told I wouldn’t be in long so took things out and now I have to stay in so need to change it again. Hopefully DH can bring things in each morning I keep showing him where I’ve put things too just in case.

@purbal all my families babies were early too.

We’re starting long walks together tonight and I’ve been bouncing on my ball. Plus frozen pineapple is great in this heat

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/06/2021 10:32

Ok my bags are now on my bed which might make me more inclined to finish them? Tbf i think babies bag is done

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I'm booked in for next Friday . Had a reason under certain circumstances but nothing to do with the actual pregnancy. So they do allow you to have one Smile

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/06/2021 10:42

Ty @pinkgin8! My 38 wk mw app is next weds so fingers crossed 🤞

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I hope it works for you! And me!🤣

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/06/2021 11:15

Me too @pinkgin8, although part of me thinks shit, that is really soon Shock

PurBal · 15/06/2021 14:08

@PeanutButterFalcon how many weeks are you now? I would love to join you for the long walks but the physio stopped me a few weeks ago, ball bouncing I can do though!
@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE it doesn't take long, but you know this! It's not your first rodeo.

PeanutButterFalcon · 15/06/2021 15:57

@PurBal about to turn 37 so almost term. I’m not sure if the ball bouncing does much but it’s definitely my most comfortable. If this baby takes after DH though they’ll be late. Are you ready?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/06/2021 16:06

Is anyone taking raspberry leaf tea capsules? If so how many a day at how many weeks?

OP posts:
pinkgin8 · 15/06/2021 17:33

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I know! It really is soon 😳😳
Better enjoy the sleep whilst we have it 🤣

pinkgin8 · 15/06/2021 17:34

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE have you had one before with your first? This will be my first time having a sweep , is it painful? Hmm

marmilade92 · 15/06/2021 18:55

I'm just wondering if maybe my baby has dropped. I'm FTM and 34+3 and the past couple of days I've felt 'comfier' and less restricted. My pelvis is more sore but my ribs aren't as sore and I can actually bend over to some degree. Baby's been head down since 20 weeks and I don't think they've changed position, the pushes and kicks are still in the same places. Does this sound like the baby has dropped? I have a midwife appointment tomorrow and I'll ask then, but I'd like to know what others have felt or when it happened for them.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/06/2021 20:32

@pinkgin8 i have had sweeps in two previous pregnancies both around due date, one i barely felt the other was extremely painful Sad i think it depends on how ready your body is

OP posts:
pinkgin8 · 15/06/2021 21:34

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE were you 38 weeks each time? Did they work well or did you need more than one?
I am worried it'll be painful but then think to myself if I can't hack a sweep how on earth will I give birth as this will be nothing compared to it!🙄

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/06/2021 22:02

No, the none painful one i was about 39+3, the painful was i think due date (different pregnancies) Both worked though and i had my baby the next day

pinkgin8 · 15/06/2021 22:17

How many cm dilated do you need to be for it to be able to take place?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/06/2021 07:14

I'm not actually sure @pinkgin8, i think if the can get a finger tip in they will have a go

OP posts:
pinkgin8 · 16/06/2021 11:06

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE did you find you had more pain during labour and needed more pain relief intervention? After having a sweep to bring labour on? Am debating whether or not to do it

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/06/2021 11:21

No not at all, this was my fourth and fifth birth. Just gas and air for fourth, 5 hours and baby born back to back. Fifth much longer 15+ hours, gas and air and diamorphine.

OP posts:
pinkgin8 · 16/06/2021 15:40

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE does having the sweep make other things uncomfortable to do? Eg sex or going for a wee? I sound ridiculous but had to ask 🤣

PurBal · 16/06/2021 15:56

@PeanutButterFalcon ready as I'll ever be. My DH was late too. My EDD is 6 July but I swear if the baby doesn't arrive this month I might cry. Everything hurts.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/06/2021 15:56

@pinkgin8 i think it can really vary, my none painful one nothing hurt afterwards although i didnt attempt sex, the painful one even walking hurt Sad

@marmilade92 Just catching up on this thread now. What did your MW say about whether baby has dropped? DS1 never dropped in the lead up to labour and I had my MW appointment today for DC2 and no sign of that either, so I've no idea what it feels like.

@mariebaby3 It's an especially nerve wracking time isn't it. I actually caught some kind of weird bug a few weeks back (not covid) and have recovered. Baby seems fine. Maybe, if anything, has a different bug. It's hard to think of anything other than CV when that's all that's in the papers, but there are lots of other bugs going around and plenty of women are just fine throughout pregnancy picking up a minor bug or two Flowers.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I started drinking loose raspberry leaf tea recently at 34 weeks. Just once a day but I'll up to 3 cups a day at 34 weeks. I don't remember it tasting quite rank. Wish I'd gone for the capsules instead!

I had a different MW at my appointment today and spoke to her about the Badger notes app. I mentioned that I can not see any information and mentioned I had been told by the hospital that MWs need to tick a box to publish the information. She seemed not to believe me but said she would have a look and try. It seems she did try as, lo and behold, all of my information is available for me to see from today's appointment. It seems it was a MW problem rather than an app problem as I suspected. My usual MW was adamant it was a "glitch" causing me not to be able to see anything :|.

marmilade92 · 16/06/2021 16:51

@HumunaHey Just back and she said baby hasn't engaged yet. The head is right above my public bone and the feet are way up on my ribs. So I don't think baby has dropped but I definitely feel a difference and feel more mobile and my appetite has increased but pelvis is still sore and need to pee frequently. I hope it lasts and I'm more comfortable for the last couple of weeks.

HumunaHey · 16/06/2021 20:21

@marmilade92 Oh that's interesting. Well good that you're more comfortable, especially in this heat! Hopefully it lasts.
