Thank you all!

Just got home. Placenta has moved out of the way so I'll be able to give birth in the midwife led unit.

The baby is measuring a little bigger than it should be but only 2 weeks over so not too bad. Next week the consultant will give me a call so I'll try to chat to them about that then as I'd like to be induced before 41 weeks if the baby is going to be another big'un.

Was quite cute that the sonographer showed me that the baby has already got a good head of hair.

Good luck with your scan @Fartymcfart I hope you've got a nice normal sized baby cooking in there.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 03/06/2021 10:46

Great news @Warrickdaviesasplates!

@Warrickdaviesasplates I had mine a few weeks back and I was really nervous - but it was fine and even with having to have the internal scan it wasn’t that bad - let us know how you get on!

@Fartymcfart let us know how you get on as well hopefully your baby isn’t too huge haha 😂

Pinkroseuk · 03/06/2021 16:10

Just catching up on the news
I had my 32 week scan yesterday- they still think baby is measuring small but looking at averages online seems to match so totally confused! The lady doing the scan was in a hurry so didn't show us anything other than her getting the basic measurements. Due to my high bmi they want me back for another scan at 36 weeks too

Fartymcfart · 03/06/2021 17:19

Off the scale huge apparently, not sure I trust the scan as baby doesn't feel huge or heavy, but what do I know?!?!

Makes me very apprehensive though got another scan in 4 weeks.

Fartymcfart · 03/06/2021 17:24

Ops that should say 3 weeks

Warrickdaviesasplates · 03/06/2021 18:19

@Fartymcfart off the scale? Wow. I would have thought you'd feel big though if baby was that huge. Is this your first baby?

Are they doing any other tests or just another scan in a few weeks?

Warrickdaviesasplates · 03/06/2021 18:22

@Pinkroseuk that's a shame that you felt hurried in the scan and confused rather than reassured. Hopefully you'll have a better experience at 36 weeks as you want to have your mind put at ease and feel looked after not rushed through as they've ticked the box they needed to.

CoffeeAndCaramel · 03/06/2021 19:34

I also have growth scans and I don't trust them at all!! My last baby was predicted to be small and she was over 8 pound x

Pinkroseuk · 04/06/2021 12:07

@Warrickdaviesasplates Thankyou yes hopefully. Just seemed like the lady scanning wanted to be somewhere else. Hopefully next time they will have time to explain a little more.

Fartymcfart · 04/06/2021 13:16

Thanks @Warrickdaviesasplates this is my 4th baby, so was expecting a bigger baby but all this has done is make me worried and anxious.

@pinkroseuk I felt very rushed yesterday at my scan, they were running over an hour behind and seemed to just be trying to get people in and out. I know a growth scan isn't for looking really but it would have been nicer if they could have slowed down and said here's your babies face etc it felt really rushed and hurried.

Pinkroseuk · 04/06/2021 14:04

@Fartymcfart sorry you had a bad experience too. Maybe that's what there all like. She said at the start she was going to measure head waist and leg but then didn't talk us through anything. We couldn't tell what was head and what was waist even! Maybe they expected us to know these things

Vie8126 · 04/06/2021 14:33

@Fartymcfart my 28wk scan was like that no this is this or this is that just all measurements done in and out didn't even attempt to show us anything. I am assuming they are all like this and going Monday for my 32 week one prepared for it just to be about measurement, I've even told my other half not to worry about coming this time I'll just go solo and hopefully be back to work within an hour.

Anyone getting seriously low blows on cervix/bladder?! How uncomfortable are they!! Got told by the checkout lady in tesco today that I am absolutely huge always nice when someone has to comment on your bump size!!

Lullabymummy17 · 04/06/2021 16:05

I've had growth scans every 2 weeks since 24 weeks and most of them have just been getting measurements. Most of the sonographers would show me babies faces at the end though if I asked and I could fill an album already with the amount of scan pictures I have of them 😂

When I had DD they said she was going to be big. She was 6.11 so I always take their measurements with a pinch of salt.

@Vie8126 yes. Low blows and constant pressure. Took my breath away a few times and nearly peed myself a few times too 😂 how rude! I hate the "you have a big/small bump" comments. I'm having twins and everyone always says "I can't believe how small your bump is for two! I bet they're tiny!" As if I'm not worried enough without stupid comments like that!

Vie8126 · 04/06/2021 16:08

@Lullabymummy17 it's just unnecessary isn't it! I wouldn't mind but I had on (elasticated waist obv) size small (non maternity) trousers and was feeling quite small today! She gasped and was like oh 8 weeks left you're absolutely huge already.... Thanks!

Lullabymummy17 · 04/06/2021 16:24

@Vie8126 at this point in time I don't think I would have been able to hold my tongue. Its so rude, you wouldn't say to her she looked like a fat cow would you?! 😂

I'm sure your bump is gorgeous, big or small Smile

Vie8126 · 04/06/2021 16:52

@Lullabymummy17 I had my 12 year old with me or I prob would have!! I am sure you are growing perfectly sized twins 😊

Lullabymummy17 · 04/06/2021 21:19

Help! I can't find any of the baby formula with the sterilised teets near me. I need them for Monday.

Tesco has some of the big bottles and the little bottles but none with teets.

Babies are going to be in NICU most likely. I have tommeetipee bottles. Would I take the small bottles of formula and bottles and sterilise whilst I'm there?!

Why can't I get any?

FYI I'm hoping to BF but if my milk doesn't come in I don't want not to have anything to give them!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 04/06/2021 21:30

@Lullabymummy17 do have a specific brand in mind?

Lullabymummy17 · 04/06/2021 21:34

@Warrickdaviesasplates used aptimal for DD but I haven't really researched as I was banking on breast milk. As long as they have food until my milk comes in I'm happy. Dont want them to be hungry 😔

Warrickdaviesasplates · 04/06/2021 21:40

@Lullabymummy17 do you have a local Morrison's? On the Morrison's website they have some and it's showing an option to click and collect or book delivery for Sunday morning (£6 charge but if you're getting other bits could be worth it)

Lullabymummy17 · 04/06/2021 21:44

@Warrickdaviesasplates yes, I can get to a morrisons! I tried tescos, asda and boots. Didn't think of Morrisons. Thank you Smile

Warrickdaviesasplates · 04/06/2021 21:48

@Lullabymummy17 I hope it works for you. Good luck for Monday as well. Xxx

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 05/06/2021 07:22

I know with cow and gate there was a supply issue on liquid formula as they were changing some anti foaming ingredient or something. I did struggle to find some. If you are on FB you could ask locally if anyone knows where they have any in stock? Or phone your hospital / mw and ask what they advise?

Lullabymummy17 · 05/06/2021 07:44

Thank you @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE we are going to try morrisons today and the local pharmacies. Hopefully they will have some stock in, if not I will phone the midwives. Thank you again 💓
