Thanks for making the new thread @Bubbles1st. The time is starting to fly by... and just as im about to hit the third trimester they've opened hotels over here and i have to go back to work! Dreading it if I'm honest, 6am starts and having to deal with people when I just want to lay in a luke warm bath and stretch my back out all day 😅

RadDarwazeh · 17/05/2021 18:02

Hello everyone! Fell off the bandwagon here but hellooooo 🙂

MJohns0110 · 17/05/2021 18:03

@Bubbles1st could I be added? I’m due 9th with a little boy ❤️

Taybz · 17/05/2021 18:07

@Bubbles1st thanks for the new thread!
@Sceptre86 hope you get better soon x

Re: maternity leave, I'm absolutely torn and need to make a decision soon. I work about an 1.15hrs away part-time. Ideally I'd like to work as long as possible but with the journey and nerve problem in the leg I'm not sure what the best time to take mat leave is!

SP2Bx · 17/05/2021 18:11

Thread 6 goodness me!

Thinking of you @Sceptre86 - hope you get back home soon ❤️

FTEngineerM · 17/05/2021 18:17

❤️ thanks!

Oh my god look at how long that list is now🤭

Squibble84 · 17/05/2021 18:20

Thanks for the new thread @Bubbles1st!

@Sceptre86 hope you’re ok and out home soon! X

AdventuresAwait · 17/05/2021 19:23

Thanks for the new thread @Bubbles1st! Number 6, wow! 🥰

Thinking of you @Sceptre86. Hope you're soon home 💐

Kirky658 · 17/05/2021 19:41

Thank you @bubbles1st! Can't believe it's thread 6 and we are more than halfway 😳

crobo87 · 17/05/2021 19:45

How are we on thread 6 already 🙈

GummyBear91 · 17/05/2021 19:46

Hello all!!!

I've completely forgotten to update you all on scan etc. We had it on the 7th and baby is a little girl ❤️ She is doing well and very healthy.

Last week I had my cervix scan following a LLETZ a couple of years ago and that's all come back as normal.

I hope you are all well. How am I over 21 weeks already?!?

bewitchingnight · 17/05/2021 19:50

Thanks @Bubbles1st

Hope you're back home and better soon @Sceptre86

marshmallowmode · 17/05/2021 19:51

Thanks for the new thread. 😊
Boys and girls have almost evened out now!

I've been researching cloth nappies this last week, definitely going to be going with them. Is anyone else?

Kirky658 · 17/05/2021 20:05

@gummybear91 great news!

CobleCloud · 17/05/2021 20:13

Thank you for the new thread @Bubbles1st 🥰

GummyBear91 · 17/05/2021 20:22

@marshmallowmode We have been gifted some cloth nappies from DHs older brothers kids. Some barely used as they had three children in nappies at the time and it was a bit too much to handle.

My SIL says the Blueberry Simplex all in ones are the best they have used. Longest lasting and really good as well. Motherease all in one are also good but the edging wears fairly quickly (need replacing by second child).

Yet to try any for ourselves and plan on doing a bit of cloth and disposables.

I've already got reusable wipes from Cheeky Wipes but again may mix it up with some disposable wipes such as waterwipes.

It's going to be trial and error!!

unicornpower · 17/05/2021 20:45

Wooohoooo new thread! Bear

Hope you're okay @sceptre86- lots of love xxxxx

Holly91 · 17/05/2021 21:00

Heyyy everyone wooow thread 6 already! Although I haven’t written much it’s been very reassuring reading all of your comments on the other threads. @Bubbles1st I found out Friday we are having a boy 💙 xx

Bubbles1st · 17/05/2021 21:02

You're all welcome ladies, I'll update and add on me people down the line.

@marshmallowmode all my nappies bought and washed and ready! I found the options very over whelming and decided to go with a recommendation from someone I know who was really helpful. I chose baba and boo pocket nappies. Going to start part time and work up to full time once I've got a routine going.

@marshmallowmode, I really want to try cloth nappies but there was so many options and such varied reviews, I wasn't sure which to go with! Have you seen any you particularly like?

Great to hear other's suggestions... I'll be looking into them.

SillyBry · 17/05/2021 21:30

Loving all the cloth nappies on the line! I’ve not committed to cloth - I found it all too overwhelming. But my cheeky wipes package turned up yesterday with my new breast pads and wet wipes. I have to say, for anyone planning to breastfeed, buy reusable pads. They are SO much nicer. You can even buy cheap ones in Asda, so much nicer than plastic pads on your boobs!

@sceptre86 hope you’re allowed home tomorrow xx

marshmallowmode · 17/05/2021 21:38

@GummyBear91 that's good to know! I already get my own sanitary stuff from cheeky wipes so I was looking at their baby wipes the other day and will probably get some.

@Bubbles1st oh look at those pretty nappies on the line! Yeah we're definitely going to get some disposables too to take any pressure off at the beginning while we get used to it.

@AdventuresAwait Have you done the nappy lady questionnaire? I did it the other day and got a fantastically helpful personalised response. We're looking at the bumble nappies (it's a really simple, absorbant cloth nappy that you use a nice colourful wrap on top of) as they're a fair bit cheaper than the other options and I like the simplicity. Also considering trying out folded muslins /Terry cloths. Sounds complicated but I watched some of the nappy lady videos and actually found the folding ones less daunting than some of the fancy shaped nappy ones haha.

AdventuresAwait · 17/05/2021 22:16

@marshmallowmode, no I haven't done the questionnaire... I will have a look, thanks!
I just looked up the Motherease ones that's @GummyBear91 mentioned and liked that they're elasticated at the front. Will look at ones that others mentioned too.
It will be interesting to see what the questionnaire says.

Very organised @Bubbles1st!

SP2Bx · 18/05/2021 07:48

Does anybody else wake up in the night with really bad period cramps that make you feel like you need to go to the toilet?! It happened the other night and then twice last night! It's a bit scary but there's nothing else "untoward", and baby is wriggling like a good'un this morning (and right before I went to sleep last night)! 😕

unicornpower · 18/05/2021 08:09

@sillybry this might be a daft question but what do you use breast pads for? is it to stop the pain of BF or is it for something else?

@SP2Bx I have definitely had some cramps but i am super constipated at the moment so thats probably why, if baby is moving about then i wouldn't worry. I think at this point things start getting a bit squished so it sounds like a joyful symptom due to everything having less room xxx
