Congratulations new mums! Lovely to hear!

cem90 · 15/05/2021 11:11

Sorry if TMI information- but has anyone else had their bloody show?
I've been losing my plug all week then last night it had blood in it, (which I know can be normal after my sweep too) but it still had blood during the night and this morning every time I wipe there is a fresh streak of blood (again sorry if it's TMI) - it's just a lot more blood then I expected ( but not sure what to expect really as with my first I didn't lose my plug or anything until my waters broke and I was in labour)
I just rung my maternity day care unit for advice who told me to put in a pad and if I soak through that with blood in a hour then ring back? I know they are the experts but that advice just seems a little off to me?

PFin · 15/05/2021 12:01

@cem90 i had a sweep yday too and have been bleeding every since. Its defo no my mucus plug, could be a bloody show or just bloody discharge but I think small amounts arw relatively normal. Every time i wupe there is.also fresh blood on the tissue and im having to wear a pad. Im nowhere near soaking a pad through. I had a sweep with my first and remember it being pretty similar to this.

cem90 · 15/05/2021 12:07

@PFin thank you for replying, you've actually put my mind at ease more then the maternity unit did.
Luckily it's just when I wipe still (no blood on the pad I'm wearing) but thank you for reassuring me! It may be my second baby but this side of things is completely new to me.
Really hope that the sweep has worked for both of us and we meet our babies soon Xx

CarryOnParenting · 15/05/2021 13:11

@HaNNaHC92 congratulations!!! ☺️

LittleTiger007 · 15/05/2021 13:13

Huge congratulations @HaNNaHC92! I’m so glad you didn’t have to wait any longer and what a lovely birthday gift! Happy birthday! Flowers I love his names too! I meant to say that to @OldFirstTimeMum lovely names ladies. Enjoy your babies.
I hope you don’t have long anxious waits @cem90 and @PFin and anyone else who’s overdue or had sweeps.
I was having quite painful contractions last night but that all stopped and I slept well - which makes a nice change as I’ve been sleeping horribly. This morning trying all the things to get baby moving 😉

HollyWell · 15/05/2021 13:25

Congratulations to all the lovely mums who have welcomed their babies!!! All such lovely names, too!
Sending love to everyone is who, like me, is (im)patiently waiting! Had my second sweep yesterday but doesn’t appear to have spurred things along! Still losing my mucous plug after my first sweep on Monday - seriously how much can there be?!
Wishing everyone the best of luck over the weekend, more birth announcements please!! Grin

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 15/05/2021 13:45

I’ve woken up the last three mornings with bad period style cramps, this morning was 6 hours worth and really quite bad so was optimistic but now nothing again. Getting so frustrated and what feels like now such a drawn out process!!

Bouncing on my ball, drinking raspberry leaf tea by the gallon and scheduling sex in for 4pm to get this baby boy out!

lucymagoo · 15/05/2021 14:07

@Twobecomingthreeplusthedog I'm the same! Strong braxton hicks since Wednesday and woken up today with them much more intense. Also 30 mins apart but they were doing that in the week so I'm not optimistic.

I'm keeping distracted by baking a birthday cake for my husband instead and hoping these bloody contractions actually turn into something soon.

LittleTiger007 · 15/05/2021 14:43

amen to that @lucymagoo & @Twobecomingthreeplusthedog
I’m walking, bouncing and drinking gallons of raspberry leaf tea. My husband isn’t surprised that nothing’s happened yet as he’s convinced it will all happen during the FA cup final... Grin

thefishthatcouldwish · 15/05/2021 14:55

@HaNNaHC92 congratulations.

All quiet here except have odd sort of pre - period cramping which maybe a sign?!

Not holding out much hope and certainly won’t tell DH.

Am nowhere near going over yet but the idea of going over and having an induction terrifies me.

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 15/05/2021 15:10

@LittleTiger007 @lucymagoo

This morning the cramps were so much worse than the previous two days that I was convinced it was going to progress into something, now I’m just annoyed and frustrated and DH breathing is just infuriating me. He’s already been off work a week and his cricket match got called off today which I was desperately hoping to have him out the house for Grin. I think my oxytocin levels are indirectly proportional to his presence Hmm

Bu2014 · 15/05/2021 15:31

Congrats to all the new mummies and babies 😊😘
Sorry not been keeping up recently, still stuck in our garden building watching a very empty building site (aka our house) and hoping this one will stay in until the 24th, I'm in no hurry. Going back to read all the news now!

PFin · 15/05/2021 17:11

Oh its all very busy on here, lots of weekend babies heres hoping 🤞

@cem90 yeah some midwifes dont do the best of jobs reassuring you. But the doctor told me to defo expect some blood. I actually took a pic to show my partner as he was working, you know keep him included in it all lol not sure if you want to see it but mine has been looking a lot like this since yday when I wipe, blood has maybe gotten a bit darker last few trips to the loo.

@LittleTiger007 he sounds an awful lot like my partner Grin sure I will go when Liverpool is playing lol! Hope they make an appearance soon.

PlanBea · 15/05/2021 17:34

Congratulations to all the other new mums! Hope we see a few more baby announcements coming soon.

We're now home and being seen by the breastfeeding team in my home CCG hospital. They sorted out his tongue tie the next day after we got in touch with them, the hospital he was born at just sent us an appointment to get it sorted - 3 weeks later! Crazy waits considering it was affecting his eating. They've also loaned me a hospital grade pump and are helping with latch/positioning, seeing them again next week - there's so much support available which has really helped!

cem90 · 15/05/2021 18:22

@PFin that's exactly what mine has been like, sometimes a bit more blood sometimes a bit less.
My DH has been lucky enough to be here with me so I've made him look himself every time I've been to the toilet just to get his opinion on it lol

The period type pains I've been having have definitely increased in intensity and although they are quite far apart they are definitely coming with some regularity , so hoping the sweep has worked and this is the start of things (please)

@PlanBea glad you are home and getting help! Breastfeeding can be really tough (I only managed a month with my first) so pleased to hear you are getting the support that you need to help you on your journey xx

cem90 · 16/05/2021 05:25

Our little girl was born at 2:21 this morning weighing 7lbs 9oz.
We started off with a nice natural labour in a birthing pool but as things progressed her heartrate dropped with every contraction and they were getting very concerned.
I Ended up with an epidural, they then broke my waters and I then went from 7 to 9 1/2 cm in 10 minutes but as they were getting more and more concerned about her vitals they didn't want to wait any longer and we needed an episiotomy and forceps (if that didn't work then it was going to be an emergency c section) luckily she came out in a few big pushes.
We're being kept in for extra observations because of it all but she's beautiful and so worth every minute of it.
Still no name but sure we will decide soon, hubby and her are having a nap- but I'm on too much of a high right now!

Good luck to anyone else waiting etc fingers crossed for you all xx

Sparksflyxo · 16/05/2021 10:18

Congrats to those new mummies with babies that have arrived. Our little boy arrived 7:55 yesterday weighing 7lb 12oz, very fast labour went to hospital at 4:30am with strong contractions. Turns out I was 9cm dilated, had hoped for water birth but no pools available. Ended up being quite a traumatic labour in the end with artificial membrane rupture, episiotomy and forceps due to heart rate dropping. Just glad he’s here now and managed to get discharged same day.

LaMadrilena · 16/05/2021 11:33

Congratulations @cem90 and @Sparksflyxo! Sorry you both had a stressful time though. Hope you're both recovered and enjoying your babies!

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 16/05/2021 12:26

Congratulations @cem90 and @Sparksflyxo wishing you both a super speedy recovery and lots of newborn love!!!

I’ve had my bloody show this morning but no contractions or anything to go with it so still thinking he’s keeping me waiting a little longer!!

LittleTiger007 · 16/05/2021 14:37

Huge congratulations to @cem90 and @Sparksflyxo! So sorry for the traumatic births that you both had. Hoping that all is calm now and that you are enjoying your little ones.
I’m on my third day of period pains. Feeling sick with an achey lower back right now too but no contractions yet.
