May babies - anyone else due soon?

Hi ladies, I’m due on the 20th but think I will be early. How is everyone doing?

@thefishthatcouldwish my friend had a baby through IVF and was midwifery led. She went over due date so had two sweeps and pessary induction which didn’t work so opted for a c section as oppose to manually breaking waters because they said it would be likely she’d need assisted delivery due to baby’s position. Everyone pregnancy is different but she has a healthy 10 month old even though she went over due date. If you are concerned speak with your midwife. I’m 39 weeks today and dread going overdue as I’ve had 4 episodes of reduced movement, they said they will likely induce if it happens again. I just hope baby decides to spontaneously arrive soon and keeps active.

Yes definite cramps @thefishthatcouldwish and general soreness too. It does seem strange they haven't let up all day, baby's kicks are lower than usual too. The contractions haven't increased in intensity at all and are very manageable and easy to ignore, no other signs of them being the real thing so I'm managing my expectations a bit. Fingers crossed tho🤞🏼

I remember feeling like you ladies too, impatiently waiting for baby’s arrival. My first wanted to have a lay in for 11 whole days 🥴
I was getting so sick and tired of it. Even when it came to pushing her out she refused to come out
40mins of pushing and an episiotomy, she finally came out!

It’s exhausting waiting!

My due date is today, been having slight sporadic cramping the past week but other than that no signs that he's on his way out!

Isn't it! My cramps and contractions disappeared overnight I'm gutted. Back to sitting around waiting for something to happen

These last few weeks are a nightmare! I have protein in my urine waiting for a midwife to ring me to discuss next steps
I'm a high pre eclampsia risk but my blood pressure is perfect
Been on asprin since 12 weeks which has caused no end of problems for me
So I'm pretty annoyed if I've gotten this far 37+ and it's pre eclampsia
Congratulations every who's had their babies already
Keep hanging in there for the rest of us our time will come

Between the waiting and the low-carb diet I have constant rage. Honestly, I could start chucking stuff out of the window. Or murder my colleagues. Or eat the giant bar of chocolate that's sitting in the fridge. And there's still 10 days till my due date, so there could be another couple of weeks of this...

Sounds like we are all in an awful mood today good to know everyone's in the same boat. Hoping one of us gets some movement soon

@lucymagoo all my twinges seem to have gone too, I’m 39 weeks tomorrow. Was hoping to have a sweep today but DD had to have a covid test yesterday for a new cough (pretty sure it’s not covid but following guidelines) so midwife is ringing me instead. Hoping I’ll be booked in over the weekend for sweep.

Everyone is definitely sounding fed up Today!
I with you all there - I'm supposed to be going for a sweep tomorrow (I'll be 41+2!) They examined me on Monday and although I was apparently already at 2cm my cervix hadn't shortened enough so they couldn't physically do a sweep then 😫 I'm hoping something has changed by tomorrow if not they have booked me in for an induction on Monday and I would really prefer not to go down that route if I had a choice.
Quite a few little pains and twinges here and there but nothing serious yet.
Maybe I'm just moody and hormonal but I'm getting so fed up of the constant any news yet messages - although it won't be the first thing we plan to do, do people really think we would keep it a secret when she arrives, the more overdue I am the more I get wound up every time someone messages asking 🙈😂 especially when it's people that I've hardly heard from in the last 9 months but now they seem to want daily updates!!

@99redspottedducks awh I had protein in my urine at a 34 week check im not high risk but my mum having it too with her kids gave me 2 risk factors and i was in maternity outpatients all day. Turned out I had a kidney infection the protein wasnt being processed out of my kidneys properly. At least its been picked up and you can be monitered for it now.

These last few weeks are awful, my iron was so low and had to go for an infusion yesturday and been told I have another UTI . Have an appointment tomorrow and will be offered a sweep, really not feeling up to it just with everything going on!

Congrats everyone thats had their babies and good luck to everyone waiting. The struggle is real.

Good news! I've been signed off work although I'll actually still be doing just as much as if I was in the office! Dr didn't even ask any questions, couldn't wait to hang up on me! Knowing my luck I'll go into labour tomorrow and not be able to enjoy a bit of time off first!

I’m so glad you’ve been signed off @LaMadrilena! My bump has dropped today, it looks much smaller and lower it’s so odd! Pressure down below, achey bump and achey boobs. Just rolling on my ball and can’t concentrate on work. Plus grumpy...

Glad I’m not the only one feeling like utter crap today. Woke up with period pain and got super excited that today might be the day (38+5). Went out for lunch with DH and now no cramps but super sleepy.

Had acupuncture yesterday which relieved my back pain but still horrible pain in my vagina when I walk anywhere.

The thought of going over my due date makes me feel sick today.

Hi ladies, can I join the impatient club!? I'm 38+2 first baby. Bump dropped a couple of days ago, needed to go to the toilet a few times a day this week but other than assuming every twinge is something, nothing is really happening. Bored waiting pfft at least I'm still distracted by work

@Twobecomingthreeplusthedog I’m in the fed up club today too! 38 + 4 and cried after walking my pup because it just hurts so much now. Feeling very sorry for myself 😂

I’m so sorry everyone but I am so glad I’m not the only one feeling down in the dumps today!!! And to top it off husband has taken himself to bed with a banging headache so it will be typical if I do go into labour tonight and he just whinges about how unwell he feels! Second sweep tomorrow.. keeping my fingers crossed that it works!!!

@LittleTiger007 I'm 25th may, crossing my fingers for an early arrival, I'm far too impatient for this!

Well today's the day for me. Baby is now 13 days overdue and showing absolutely no sign of wanting to come anytime soon. I'm booked in for an induction (my first ever one) at 9am this morning. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I don't think I've ever felt this before, my stomach is in knots. I'm gutted I've got to this point as this is what I dreaded the most in all of my pregnancies. But baby needs to come out and I'm at the point I just want he/she to be here now.
