Thanks @ChampooPapi I’m ok- yes drove myself here yesterday and of course haven’t even packed a hospital bag yet! So my husband had to run around packing me all manner of random things and came last night with it. He was able to stay an hour til I was settled so that was good.
I’ve seen the doctor and they’re happy for me to go. I have thrush so they think the amount of discharge when they did the test for preterm labour skewed the results and it was a false positive. My cervix is closed and even though I’m having pains still they aren’t showing on the monitor so they don’t think it’s likely that labour is imminent.
So just waiting for a prescription for iron tablets and they’re letting me go! I’m still in quite a lot of discomfort so a bit concerned- dr said maybe baby engaging is causing the pain but I’m not convinced!

scrumdiddly123 · 23/02/2021 12:07

@SunnySideUp2020 baby is moving ok but I’ve had to be on the monitor lots as they weren’t happy with the trace. She basically wasn’t reactive enough for their liking, so when she was moving her heart rate wasn’t picking up as much as they would have liked. I ended up being monitored for 3 hours yesterday afternoon, another 40 minutes at bedtime and then another 40 minutes this morning! The last two are looking better though again I’m still a bit concerned 😟

MrsB16 · 23/02/2021 13:25

@Fizzl I have the Chico next to me although Emilia only has 3 weeks left in it now! We also have a baby monitor and camera for the evenings as she’s in bed by 7pm. Because I was paranoid we also have the owlet foot monitor. Although expensive (about £250 I think) it’s been worth it’s weight in gold. It actually gives me peace of mind and the ability to sleep without worry something will happen in the night. It gives you oxygen and heart rate readings on your phone but it also gives you a graph of sleep over the night so I know how Emilia has slept which I find quite interesting. It has gone off once (which we think was a false alarm for a high heart rate) the alarm and flashing light was so loud my husband actually broke the bedside lamp as he flew out of bed. All in all I have been super happy with it and it just gives me the peace of mind I needed as an anxious mum!

MrsB16 · 23/02/2021 13:27

This is the data I get from the owlet overnight

@scrumdiddly123 good that you are going home. Hopefully that preterm labor test was really skewed by thrush and she stays put for a few weeks!!!
It looks like you are being looked after properly though. That is good.

Had my scan today. All good. She is still head down.
Estimated now to be 2.425kg (5lbs 5oz) and 44% centile overall. So maybe my size 0 nappies will be a bit small?

Doctor was happy, midwife too and me too. Even though i couldn't see her... the ultrasound looked like white and black patches and despite showing me "the face" i just couldn't make any face or baby limbs.
😅😅

BecsterG · 23/02/2021 20:44

@mlax ooo exciting stuff! Things are defo on the move. I lost my plug with my first a few hours before I had him so definitely a sign he's on his way! I don't think I noticed it at all with Jude.

@scrumdiddly123 what a worry all of those tests. Really hope it was a false positive and you can get home soon.

Fizzl · 23/02/2021 22:12

@mlax good luck I hope your little one makes his appearance soon!

@scrumdiddly123 sounds like you've had an eventful few days! What a worry for you. Fingers crossed all stays well and baby stays where she is. Sounds like they've done a lot of checks and it's good they're happy for you to come home.

@MrsB16 thank you that's really helpful! In honesty I think I'm sold on the owlet, I keep trying to talk myself out of it thinking we don't really need it etc but I think for my own peace of mind we do. Even if I don't attach the crib to the bed, I think the extra reassurance from the owlet might be worth it. I know it's pricey and probably excessive but if I was going to buy a sensor mat it's not that much more and probably worth it - just to convince my husband now who seems to think two tin cans and a piece of string is just as sufficient 😂 🙄

Whiffle77 · 24/02/2021 09:40

Good luck @mlax! Hope all is going well!

Hope you are feeling ok today @scrumdiddly123, thats a worry you could do without!!

@fizzl we have the tutti and really like it, we don't have it attached to the bed though so probably a lot of money for it in that respect! I love the fact it has a mesh side though, as when DS is grizzling i can see easily if he needs me or if he is still asleep and noisy. I decided any monitor would make me more anxious as I would be waiting for the alarm to go off, so can't help there! I do love a good graph though! @MrsB16 does Emilia go to bed before you at night?

Tired today, DS woke up every hour until 3ish. Hes usually such a good sleeper that it is a real shock to the system when he isn't.

Great news about your scan @SunnySideUp2020! I wouldn't worry too much about nappies, DS was 8lb 4 and we were in 0 nappies. I couldn't see the baby in later scans either, it was a real disappointment!! It will fly by until you see her for real though.

Leok83 · 24/02/2021 09:54

@scrumdiddly123 oh that was a scary day for you yesterday, hope you are feeling ok now. When are they seeing you back again? Have the pains eased off? I've been getting period pains too but they aren't too severe and everything hardens with them so I've put it down to BH. They're def ramped up a bit in the last week especially every time I bend over!

@mlax oh very exciting! Hopefully not long now after the show!!

@SunnySideUp2020 that's great your scan went well..head down and all set to go ☺️

@Fizzl aw that's a very tough situation with your dog. It's so hard when they get so old. Would your mum tell you if she would find it too much to look after her for you? Even if it was just for the NB stage and reassess where you are then?
I'd also love to get the owlet too but I think it's 1 battle I'd lose with DH so I'll maybe see when he's here how relaxed or not we are when he's asleep it might be easier to convince him then! Are you looking at any video monitors to go with it? They all have such mixed reviews.

I'd another check on Monday, my BP was a bit high and I mentioned baby was a bit quiet on Saturday and didn't expect them to take it as seriously as they did. Got sent for CTG but all was ok and my Bp came down during the 1/2 hour they did that. Need it checked again tomorrow at GP and have to go back to the hospital again on Monday. Had a mini scan done too. position is good but abdominal circumference (only thing they measured) is the same as my 34 week scan. They never said anything about it but it worried me a little. Will have to ask about it next Monday.

MrsB16 · 24/02/2021 19:55

@Fizzl i genuinely can’t recommend the owlet enough! It’s been my best baby buy!

@Whiffle77 Emilia now goes to bed alone. She stayed with us in the evenings until about 3.5 months but we found we were disturbing her and couldn’t really enjoy our evening either as she’s quite a snuggly baby when awake so we spent the evening trying to soothe her and eating Tea separately. At Christmas my husband had 2 weeks off so we decide to start a solid bedtime routine which we now do religiously every night. She’s has wind down time starting at 6pm watching the bedtime lanterns on the hey bear sensory YouTube channel, then we do bath, books, bottle and then bed. She now goes down between 7:15-7:30pm and sleeps all night until 7:00amish (unless shes teething or the odd unsettled night!) she sleeps much better, we have our evenings back and with the camera and the owlet I feel safe with her being upstairs. The only downside is that we have to sneak into our bedroom like naughty teenagers out past curfew so that we don’t wake her in the next to me but she’s 6 months in 2 weeks so she will be going into her own room then and I can go back to having a cup of tea and watch tv in bed!

Whiffle77 · 25/02/2021 14:18

Thanks @MrsB16, we are getting to the point where DS is getting woken/distracted by the TV in the evening, at some point i can see he will have to go to bed alone. He is only 3 months so probably not for a bit, but the alternative is he is disturbed or I go to bed super early every night! I guess you have the added security of the owlet. I dont think it would be for very long as im hardly a night owl! But its nice to have a little bit of an evening.
We haven't started a solid bedtime routine yet. Was thinking probably around 4 months. He loves the bath so much that he cries when he gets out though! So may not use that! Does she have consistent naps in the day too? Im a bit obsessed with sleep and tracking it at the minute!

Another not great night with DS 😴 i think he may be teething although he's very young for it, we are in a leap this week and he's coming up to four months so trying not to worry too much about it...just really need a bit of a break now, its hard work doing it all on your own in lockdown. I know the end is in sight soon though. Also thinking of starting to combi feed him. I really don't enjoy BF and I miss DH being able to do some feeds. I just don't have the time or inclination to express daily any more!

@Leok83 hope all was ok at the doctors? These last weeks are such a worry but you're nearly there

And thinking of you @mlax!

mlax · 25/02/2021 16:15

Hey ladies, sorry.. I find it so hard to keep track with everyone and find time to actually reply back! But I hope you're all doing well and thank you for all your kind words.

Unfortunately, nothing has yet progressed and would appear he is being stubborn like his mama. I've definitely dropped a lot in the space of a couple of days. More mucus plug is coming away but not as much as the past 2 days so I'm sure it's almost at the end of coming away.

Walks and inclines are what I'm doing to try and hopefully get things moving. If all else fails, on my due date on the 3rd I'm having another sweep 🙄 hoping it doesn't get to that but all I can do is wait!

Leok83 · 25/02/2021 20:32

@Whiffle77 all good today thank god 😊 BP back to normal! I've never had a high BP reading ever before so it was very odd and I wasn't even rushing for that appt!
The BF and expressing sounds like hard work.I do think I'll be trying to do combi feeding too altho it just seems hard to get good information on it. I'd be interested to see how you get on if you do it. Hope you get some good sleep tonight😴

@mlax oh no that's disappointing but hopefully you won't have too much longer to wait now!
Love this post I saw a few days ago..so true!!

@Ejb86 how are you getting on? Anything stirring yet!?

scrumdiddly123 · 25/02/2021 21:53

@SunnySideUp2020 great your scan went well! Size 0 nappies will be fine for the first few weeks definitely!
Thanks ladies @Fizzl @Whiffle77 @Leok83 it’s been a rubbish week! To top it off today I’ve been diagnosed with gestational diabetes! Can’t believe it 😞 so straight back to the hospital tomorrow (4th day this week!) to pick up a blood sugar monitor, and then phone appts with the consultant and dietician next week. It’s going to change everything for me now regarding my birth choices so absolutely gutted! Just hope it can be controlled through diet and I won’t need any drugs x

Ejb86 · 26/02/2021 06:43

@Leok83 I think we might be just at the very beginnings of some progress. Hit and miss contractions in the night, nothing regular yet. Haven't lost any plug or anything though. 39w today!

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/02/2021 08:43

@scrumdiddly123 aw that sucks.
But would explain the big baby...
Do you have to give birth in hospital now? Or how does it work?
Are you on a special diet?
X

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/02/2021 08:43

I am so donnnneeee being pregnant lol

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/02/2021 08:48

@Whiffle77 i think you have done really well at EBF up until now. It sounds like so much work!
Do you have anyone to help you at all? Family? Husband?
I guess with combi feeding you will get a break and maybe start enjoying your BF time more...

@SunnySideUp2020 still no sign of baby coming 🙄 getting so impatient but what will be, will be I guess! Can't rush him anymore than I am already trying 😂🤞🤦‍♀️ how are you doing?

scrumdiddly123 · 27/02/2021 08:58

@SunnySideUp2020 yes I will need to be induced early more than likely (meeting my diabetic consultant next week when I have my growth scan so will no doubt find out more then. Baby will need to be continuously monitored, I’ll need a cannula and to stay in for 24 hours to monitor baby’s blood sugars after birth. Basically everything I didn’t want!
Yeah I’ve had to cut all sugars basically, eat a small amount of carbs with every meal alongside some protein and a load of veg! Fruit is limited to 3 pieces per day due to the sugar. It’s all a big crap but at least I know now and can hopefully keep on top of my blood sugars, testing them 4 times a day from now til birth

Leok83 · 27/02/2021 09:51

@scrumdiddly123 oh that's just so crap especially when it impacts your birth preferences so much. You poor thing😔 but I suppose better spotted now at least and should only be a few weeks left of controlling diet.

@Ejb86 oh hopefully that was the starts of some thing and baby will be here soon!!

@mlax hopefully things start to move on for you too!

@SunnySideUp2020 my DH told someone few days ago we had a month left and I was like do not say that..it's 4 weeks😂 and even 4 weeks seems like a lifetime away! I've been trying to eat 6 of those medjool dates a day and I detest them, the raspberry leaf tea (I do like that), sitting on the ball, doing 5K walks nearly every other day weather permitting so if I go late it will be proof none of these things work!! Oh ya and booked in for accupuncture next Thursday too!
Thanks for the updated list by the way!! Can't believe how far along everyone is now.

SunnySideUp2020 · 03/03/2021 07:19

How is everyone doing???

@mlax hope you are ok!
@Ejb86 any progression on your side?

@scrumdiddly123 @Leok83 we are almost there 😉😉 🥳

Anyone has dreams about baby/birth/bf??
I keep having them and it's soooo weird!!
