Oh @Leok83 what a story, you have really been through the mill!! Its hard when they seem really poorly when they are first born, but they bounce back so quickly. I hope he is still doing well and you gave had a cuddle now. How did you sleep? Hope all is ok!

Thanks ladies! He's doing great, he'll be in SCBU until tomorrow I think but I've been in for feeding so should get to spend a lot of time with him today ☺️. got a really good sleep last night too which was great! Some pics of the little man here. Name still in progress as waiting to get home to Daddy to decide on a name from our shortlist!

I'm still at home, still waiting. On and off the birthing ball, wishing she would make an appearance. Induction starts on Weds lunchtime if she hasn't arrived by then.

Hes so yummy @Leok83! Glad you have had some cuddles and a good night's sleep, that helps everything! How are you getting on with feeding?

Oh my goodness @Leok83 what a story!! But huge congratulations to you and well done!!! He is here and absolutely perfect 😍 I'm sorry he had to go to SCBU but the work they do there is incredible. He is in very safe hands and of course you can visit as often as you like and stay as long as you want. Is your partner able to stay as well? Hopefully it won't be long until you can all come home and start your life as a family of 3 together ❤️.

Morning ladies. Woke up on Tuesday morning to some waters leaked and a lost mucus plug. Contractions started about 1 every 15 mins. Progressed throughout the day until we got to 3 in 10mins at about 9pm. Phoned the hospital and they sent out the midwives.

When they arrived I'd already got in the pool and everything went to plan.

Baby Mabel Rose was born at 3.05am on 17th March, weighing 9lb 5oz. Our little girl has the luck of the Irish, being born on St Patrick's Day, and was almost born en caul, but burst out of her sac on the last push.

Thanks so much for all your lovely congrats messages everyone! Baby Keelan (who eventually got named!) got out of SCBU on Monday and we both got home on Tuesday😊 Just loving his cuddles and our NB bubble!!

@Whiffle77 we actually ended up being advised to combi feed (well they aimed at it and I said I was happy and they were happy!) as he was in SCBU and has jaundice too so they really don't want to chance him getting dehydrated so we would top up all feeds with a bottle of formula. And my god he loves his bottle😄 he's really good for BF..no issues to latch from the offset but he would get cranky as it wouldn't come as fast as from the bottle..he's more settled now especially as I've more milk. So I've dropped the formula at the end of some feeds but mostly he's still getting a top up at the end of at least every second feed. My friend is posting me her breast pump so I'll try and express to top up some feeds now too. I'm just winging it but seems that's what you do with combi..just whatever works!!

@Ejb86 congratulations! Mabel is beautiful and sounds like a really positive birth! Glad to hear you're both doing well.

@Leok83 ahh he looks so chilled and content! Really good to hear you're both now home and doing well too. I'm really interested to hear about your combi feeding success too! I want to give breastfeeding a go (not sure I quite have the mindset/determination needed if it becomes tricky but willing to give it a shot) but also don't want to be the only person feeding her as I'd like my husband to do his fair share at nights sometimes if possible 😂. I got a really good deal on a breast pump at the weekend so thought I'd buy it so I'm prepared - might be a complete waste of money when I don't know how things are going to pan out yet but if breastfeeding works I'm hoping to express so we can sometimes bottle feed too
