Did any of you NOT vomit?

I'm 6 weeks with my first and I'm absolutely petrified of vomiting so much so I almost decided against having children. I've had awful nausea and been given cyclizine but I just see so many stories of women who had vomiting or even HG. My anxiety is so bad I'm starting to regret getting pregnant. Did any of you have nausea and not vomit!? Is it inevitable that I will?

4 pregnancies and not once been sick.

RokosBasilDish · 09/02/2021 12:13

I only threw up twice in my whole pregnancy and both times were after eating oily food. Try not to worry about it, the anxiety will make everything worse.

Toomuchleopard · 09/02/2021 12:18

I've had three pregnancies and not felt sick at all with any of them.

SpiceRat · 09/02/2021 12:18

12 weeks and still nauseous only been sick a few times and all but one of those times I’ve physically made myself be sick to try and feel better. My mw said it usually goes around 14 weeks but can last until a lot longer depending on the person. You say you don’t notice it at work so much so it really seems like a mind over matter thing. When you find yourself doom scrolling about worst case scenarios actively stand up and walk away from your phone. Do something else to take your mind off a problem that may never happen and focus on something else, read, learn a new language you could do loads lol.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 09/02/2021 12:20

One boy and never even had nausea.

minchinfin · 09/02/2021 12:21

I have 4 children and never actually threw up during the pregancies - few episodes of nausea but no throwing up - don't think it's inevitable.

brunetteonthebus · 09/02/2021 12:23

I had zero nausea or sickness in either of my pregnancies. Both resulted in healthy full term babies.

I did vomit once in labour the first time due to the drugs I was given in theatre, and I felt very sick during my ELCS second time but they gave me a quick jab of something that stopped it quickly.

Not everyone gets sick!

DillyDallyDoodle · 09/02/2021 12:25

I never felt sick with any of mine. 4 pregnancies including twins. I was constantly hungry though, craved carbs, so got pretty fat. I also suffered badly from SPD with the last two.

Swings and roundabouts I supposeGrin.

I threw up twice in my pregnancy. I found ginger biscuits helped.

catsrus · 09/02/2021 13:24

Three pregnancies, no vomiting. I just felt a bit like I was car sick - eating cheese and gherkin sandwiches usually fixed it WinkBlush

With my first, a girl, I was out of commission for the first trimester due to vomiting. Second and third were boys. Slightly nauseated for the first, no nausea at all for the second.

Beamur · 09/02/2021 13:47

No vomiting at all.
Vaguely nauseous brushing my teeth.

No vomiting for me. I had three healthy babies and an easy pregnancy.

OP, just very quickly (in a rush so can't rtft).

I am completely phobic about vomiting - almost decided against having dc in case of sickness (my mum had HG with all her children).

In the event, I felt a bit sick for some weeks at first. A couple of scary moments when I felt really nauseous - but I was never sick. Had children of both sexes, and there was no difference in the pregnancy non-sickness. I also refused pain relief in case it made me sick, but ended up having to have it for an emergency delivery. That didn't make me sick, either.

So there is hope for you.

Good luck!

tonystarksrighthand · 09/02/2021 14:10

I didn't. Not one bad pregnancy symptom. I'd never felt so good!

BringMeThatHorizon · 09/02/2021 14:12

I didn't. I didn't feel sick at all, basically zero pregnancy symptoms in the early days.

MarshaBradyo · 09/02/2021 14:14

Highly nauseous but not actually sick - all three pg

lalaandpoh · 09/02/2021 14:18

Hello! Congratulations. I had a similar fear of vomit and when I was expecting DS I had plenty of nausea but I was never physically sick.

Twobrews · 09/02/2021 14:32

Four pregnancies, first and third I was very sick and second and fourth I wasn't although certain things made me feel sick and tasted and smelled horrible.

Beyondfedupnow · 09/02/2021 14:39

2 full term pregnancies, didn’t feel nauseous in either, didn’t have any sickness in labour either. I consider myself very lucky.
I have heard that sickness in pregnancy can be hereditary. Neither my mother or maternal grandmother suffered either.

Shelby30 · 09/02/2021 15:26

In my first pregnancy never at all felt sick or was. In my second I had dizzy spells felt sick but wasn't sick and kept fainting. Was awful went in from about 12-20wks. Although for me the feeling is just as bad as being sick, u usually feel better once Uv bn sick.

Gemmaemilyx · 09/02/2021 15:39

With my first I was never sick. Just felt a little sick until about 18 weeks.

This baby I was never sick but felt horrendously sick up until 9 weeks. I'm 13 weeks now and have had some odd spells of nausea but nothing long lasting - I used the cyclizine and travel bands which helped. I think pregnacare which I was taking was the culprit!!! As soon as I came off of them the nausea stopped. Hope you feel better soon xx

ChancesWhatChances · 09/02/2021 15:41

The only pregnancy I didn’t get morning sickness with was when I was having an ectopic pregnancy. I was mildly nauseous with DD, only threw up a couple of times, and extremely ill with DS.

If it helps, not every woman experiences morning sickness (and not every woman experiences severe morning sickness). I wish you an extremely easy first trimester, and congratulations! Flowers

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 09/02/2021 15:43

Felt slightly nauseous for a few weeks in each pregnancy

I was never physically sick

Paperyfish · 09/02/2021 15:44

I’m on my fourth pregnancy ( third girl) and never puked with any of them. I have a stomach of steel! However- if that sounds a bit smug I did have gestational diabetes, blood thinning jabs, no energy and in this one raging eczema!
