Did any of you NOT vomit?

I'm 6 weeks with my first and I'm absolutely petrified of vomiting so much so I almost decided against having children. I've had awful nausea and been given cyclizine but I just see so many stories of women who had vomiting or even HG. My anxiety is so bad I'm starting to regret getting pregnant. Did any of you have nausea and not vomit!? Is it inevitable that I will?

Op. Not eating is likely going to make you more nauseous.

I was never sick, you need to stop focusing on it. When you’re tempted to read something, force yourself not to snd keep your mind on other things.

Newmumtobeee · 09/02/2021 16:26

26 weeks pregnant this week and I wasn’t sick at all. I had the worst feeling of sickness but my body never actually wanted to throw up. However, sometimes that’s the worst thing because you never get relief!!

Chwaraeteg · 09/02/2021 16:32

I had no nausea or sickness with my second. Actually, no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever until my 3rd trimester. With my first I was horrendously nauseous constantly for the first 11 weeks and thrww up most days.

The only thing I did differently was that I didn't take folic acid supplements in my 2nd pregnancy (because I had no idea I was pregnant until 14 weeks). I winder id that made a difference?

mistletoeandsigh · 09/02/2021 16:33

Yeah, no vomiting in any of my pregnancies ( x4). Felt nauseated from weeks 7 through to 13 though and hated lots of smells

eliseyBen · 09/02/2021 16:35

Im almost at my 3rd trimester, i only vomitted once.

littlebillie · 09/02/2021 16:38

No vomiting, had breadsticks with me to curb it.

grey12 · 09/02/2021 16:42

I felt a bit uncomfortable but usually was of hunger. Keep some snacks with you at all times

Echobelly · 09/02/2021 16:45

Each time I had only very brief mild nausea, and each pregnancy I threw up once at the precise same stage - more or less on edge of 1st and 2nd trimester. I reckon it must have been a side-effect of when the placenta kicked in (as it does at that stage, which is why normally nausea clears up at that point IIRC). Throwing up, let alone lots, is by no means inevitable with pregnancy.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 09/02/2021 16:47

Felt nauseous but didnt vomit. It was more like being hungover, I just ate my way through it lol

nitsandwormsdodger · 09/02/2021 16:49

I never did
But now is a good time to get help for your extreme phobia

apric0t · 09/02/2021 20:18

I have emetophobia, I'm 20 weeks into my second pregnancy and didn't vomit in either of my pregnancies.

I felt very sick for most of the day from 7-18 weeks in both pregnancies but wasn't sick once.

I found when I was feeling really unwell drinking a can of coke really helped as it gets rid of loads of gas buildup in my tummy and instantly made me feel heaps better.

I also did hypnobirthing to learn techniques to keep calm in labour because I knew lots of women also vomit during labour, and it really helped loads.

You will get through x

No nausea or sickness at all. I didn't even know I was pregnant for the first ten weeks, I wasn't planning to get pregnant and at 42 assumed my lack of periods was due to the start of the menopause Grin & I had no other symptoms. I had a perfectly easy, healthy pregnancy.

feelingverylazytoday · 09/02/2021 20:24

I've had 3 pregnancies and didn't vomit once. I felt nauseous sometimes. I couldn't eat meat at all after a few weeks.

drumst1ck · 09/02/2021 20:39

First pregnancy- medium level nausea from about week 6-9. Sick maybe a handful of times but not a lot.
Second pregnancy - barely noticed the nausea and not sick at all.

Every pregnancy is different and every person finds ways to cope. I would suggest stopping yourself reading and focussing on it too much. I know easier said than done but it will help!

tigerbread20 · 09/02/2021 20:40

HG with first 2 pregnancies from 5 weeks. Currently 10 weeks with DC3 and no vomit yet!

PurpleFlower1983 · 09/02/2021 20:43

I never did but I wish I had! I felt sick every bit of the day instead both times.

Horehound · 09/02/2021 20:44

I wasn't sick in my first pregnancy. I think I am pregnant now so we will see what happens this time!!

oohmyback · 09/02/2021 20:53

Me! I am also vomit phobic so was great for me! The only time I threw up during 3 pregnancies was after I drank a litre of juice in one go lol. It tasted sooo good but clearly was way too much lol.

Changechangychange · 09/02/2021 20:57

5 pregnancies no vomiting. I did get very constipated in the first trimester, and permanently felt really bloated and queasy like I’d eaten a ten-course meal, but no vomiting or anything close to it. Just couldn’t face food.

JaninaDuszejko · 09/02/2021 21:03

3DC no morning sickness. I ate constantly. Luckily I lost weight very quickly after giving birth.

clto2021 · 09/02/2021 21:08

No vomiting or nausea in either of my pregnancies x

mamakoukla · 09/02/2021 21:14

No vomiting, no nausea, no cravings but was cripplingly tired weeks 5-10 and also developed gestational diabetes

AegonT · 09/02/2021 21:25

I didn't ever vomit. Awful 24/7 nausea in the first trimester of both pregnancies - some days I only ate plain home-made chips and ice-pops! I took no medication in my first pregnancy but tried cyclizine and stemetil this time. I was only prescribed a low dose so it didn't do a lot (I know stemetil works at higher doses as I've taken it for norovirus in the past). I'm also emetaphobic. There are stronger medications available. Both times I felt so down when it started but then I almost got used to it as the weeks went on. It peaked at 8/9 weeks, was lots better at 12 weeks and I felt normal again at 15/16 weeks.

BaggoMcoys · 09/02/2021 21:28

I had no sickness or vomiting until I went into labour when I vomitted once. They forced me to drink milk for energy after I'd kept telling them I really couldn't eat or drink anything. I knew it wouldn't go down well. I am slightly ashamed to admit that I was pleased in an "I told you so" kind of way when it came straight back out of me. Blush

AegonT · 09/02/2021 21:31

I agree working from home makes it seem worse as you focus on it more. In my first pregnancy I was working and on holiday in America and I think didn't focus on it/obsess over it as much. Eat whatever you feel like at the time as it's worse when you're hungry.
