Did any of you NOT vomit?

I'm 6 weeks with my first and I'm absolutely petrified of vomiting so much so I almost decided against having children. I've had awful nausea and been given cyclizine but I just see so many stories of women who had vomiting or even HG. My anxiety is so bad I'm starting to regret getting pregnant. Did any of you have nausea and not vomit!? Is it inevitable that I will?

I also never had ‘morning’ sickness - it kicked in at about 11am and went on until dinner time.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 08/02/2021 22:47

I have 8 dc, not even the slightest bit of morning sickness with any of them

shivermetimbers77 · 08/02/2021 22:48

No never felt sick or vomited.. just hungry all the time! I’m curious OP have you had any therapy for vomit phobia? CBT and EMDR can be helpful therapies.

Pixilicious · 08/02/2021 22:48

Never. Not even nauseous

ufucoffee · 08/02/2021 22:49

I felt sick every day for ages but never vomited. Even though I really wanted to in the hope it would make me feel better.

Youarewithme · 08/02/2021 22:49

Nope. No vomiting with either pregnancy. I felt sick, like hangover sick where you need to eat or you'll throw up but never got sick, just kept digestives in my desk drawer. No sickness during elcs's either, I was TERRIFIED of that. The anaesthetist said it's very unusual (not impossible) and that he was standing right there with an anti sickness drug that'd knock nausea on it's arse if needed and that as it was intravenous it'd work in seconds. I love that guy, he put me so at ease.

ScouseSenorita · 08/02/2021 22:49

@giantwaterbottle

I didn't vomit with either of mine. The nausea was awful for the first trimester though, so much so that I also regretted getting pregnant at the time!

It sounds like you have a real phobia OP. I used to have a phobia of vomiting. Are you able to access any CBT? X

I do have a quite severe phobia. It's so bad my parents actually can't understand why I would put myself through this but I didn't want to let it win. I've tried CBT and bought the cure your emetophobia and thrive course but nothing has helped. How did you overcome it? x

I wasn’t sick and didn’t feel at all nauseous with either of my DC. My mum didn’t either.

Biscusting · 08/02/2021 22:50

I think I would focus on the anxiety itself and not dwell on the what ifs. I’m sure the stress of that is way worse that a bit of pregnancy related nausea.

Can you get some help? Calming app, plenty of rest, family and friends for support.

meeeeh · 08/02/2021 22:50

Wasn't sick once, felt a bit nauseous a handful of times but wasn't too bad!

Didn’t vomit at all, no nausea either throughout.

FusionChefGeoff · 08/02/2021 22:51

Never felt sick, never vomited. God knows why!

turnitonagain · 08/02/2021 22:51

Two pregnancies, never vomited. A LOT
OF nausea and food aversion but I wasn’t actually ever sick.

Cotswoldmama · 08/02/2021 22:51

With my first I was sick only once but the nausea was really bad for the first 6-10 weeks. I could only stomach full sugar coke and ketchup crisps! And so many smells made me feel sick and brushing my teeth made me feel sick. But it eased from 10 weeks and by 12 weeks I was fine. With my second I have no sickness or nausea at all.

squeekums · 08/02/2021 22:52

Nope, never

Apileofballyhoo · 08/02/2021 22:54

Nausea, no vomiting.

loubieloo4 · 08/02/2021 22:54

Slight nausea in the first few weeks of all mine, then odd reactions to the smell of some foods so I avoided them! The exhaustion was the worst for me in those early months.

FingersXssd83 · 08/02/2021 22:54

No nausea or sickness. Puked like a trooper during the birth though (I was induced)

katiemumma20 · 08/02/2021 22:54

I didn’t vomit x

midnightstar66 · 08/02/2021 22:54

No not with either, felt queasy a few days with dd1 and maybe 2 days max with dd2 but never sick or came close.

My partner and parents think I am maybe making it worse by focusing on it. I'm part furloughed and only working 1 day a week and do notice it lessens when I'm at work but not sure if it's coincidence or not. I'm just spending the rest of my time reading horror stories about HG. I only found out 2 weeks back and I've lost 1/2 a stone as I feel too sick to eat. I've tried calming apps and ASMR which do help me sleep but then as soon as I wake the nausea and anxiety starts again. Especially now I'm 6 weeks I'm a mess to be honest.

Quite a lot of nausea (both pregnancies) but never vomited (and I'm the total opposite of you - having suffered common migraine practically from birth I love being sick because it means I'm going to feel better now Grin).

Ate quite a lot of crystallised ginger, and drank peppermint tea. Can't remember what stage it was (younger is almost 18).

spaceghetto · 08/02/2021 22:56

I never did with either pregnancies (2 boys)

MummyNWife · 08/02/2021 22:56

I had no sickness with my first two but I had full on hg with my third. It was horrible
