So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

I have a couple of patches of dry skin @Jl2020, but my skin is always temperamental 😂

Had my bloods taken by the midwife today and handed in my wee sample! The midwife and the student midwife were both lovely Smile I'm irrationally paranoid that they'll check my blood sample and be like umm you're not pregnant, you've imagined it this whole time Shock🙈

Kona84 · 16/03/2021 12:45

Yeah I have a fear that they’ll say I’m not pregnant and the rest has picked up something else

jellybean13419 · 16/03/2021 12:46

@Jl2020 I'm so glad you said this because my skin has been horrendously dry! Everywhere, not just my face. I'm putting body cream and oil on twice a day. Absolutely no spots or oiliness this end. It's the other extreme for me 😂 I'm guessing it's hormones and pregnancy related??

jellybean13419 · 16/03/2021 12:47

@Ola85 good luck for today. Will be thinking of you. Do let us know how you get on. Xx

Jl2020 · 16/03/2021 13:05

@Ola85 good luck for today!💕

I'm so glad I'm the not the only one suffering with my skin. @jellybean13419 I'm also using oils and creams constantly and within 10 minutes it's flaking off again, I also have no spots or oilyness just pure dryness, never had such dry skin in my life lol.

@mooloop mine is the same and after a shower omg my face feels tight and so stretched. it must be the hormones! Iv been using weleda skin food which is usually amazing but right now it does nothing lol.

I haven't been able to wear makeup at all either because it makes the dryness look so much worse, fortunately it's not like I have anywhere to go where I would want to wear makeup anyway atm I suppose 😂

pixiedust21 · 16/03/2021 13:23

@mooloop haha I felt the same with my first midwife appointment. I was just waiting for someone to tell me to stop being silly and to just go home.

Hopefully all my bloods have come back okay - she said they should be back by yesterday and if I don't hear anything it's fine 🤞

I also haven't had a call to say I'm not pregnant so that's good Grin

Fully embracing the "eating like a toddler" today - ritz crackers, an apple and a glass of milk so far. Husband is making a meal with vegetables in later so wish me luck Grin

jellybean13419 · 16/03/2021 14:10

@Jl2020 yes exactly the same, it's never been this dry ever. It doesn't feel like it's actually doing anything as soon as you put it on. Mine is worse on my belly and lower back, feel like my skin is splitting it's so dry! What creams are you using?

@jellybean13419 I know what you mean it's like it just sucks straight into your skin and doesn't moisturise it at all. Iv been using weleda skin food which is normally amazing for dry skin and iv been using my kiehls midnight recovery oil in the evenings but they both seem to be making no difference 🙄

HappyVibesxo · 16/03/2021 17:18

Good luck this evening @Ola85 Smile

Has anyone here previously had LLETZ treatment (removal of pre-cancerous cells in the cervix). I'm being referred to a consultant and will have a cervical length scan but have read some worrying things online and wondered whether this is something that anyone else is going through? I was told by the nurse when I had it done that it may just mean a slightly earlier labour due to weaker cervix and closer monitoring but starting to worry slightly. I know I am a while off that yet as I'm 7+5 and awaiting my appointment letters but I was just interested to know 😊

whitershadeofpale · 16/03/2021 18:42

Good luck @Ola85 Smile

I've had really dry skin too, my lips have been peeling and I feel like I'm constantly applying balm/ moisturiser. I also have also dark circles and look permanently knackered, even though I've been getting plenty of sleep.

Has anyone found that their body temperature is running higher than normal? I'm normally cold but have been kicking the blankets off at night as I get too warm.

Cpr12 · 16/03/2021 19:51

@as1188 I have not had lletz, but incompetent cervix may have caused my previous loss. There is a fb group called incompetent cervix uk, if you go on there there are many women who can talk to you about it.

For me, I am high risk, consultant led and will start getting my cervix measured weekly from 14-24 weeks. I have stopped all exercise and and am only walking the dogs for an hour a day. I am also not carrying anything or doing any household chores, just to be safe. They have also put me on asprin just in case.

If you join that fb group and get info so you can go into any meetings armed with questions, the more info you have the better. It is amazing they are already looking into it for you though, hopefully a sign you will be in good care xx

We saw the baby 👶😀 I got a bit scared because my uterus is really low so she couldn't show us the baby for a minute but she reassured us she saw the heartbeat so we had to be patient and after a short while we could see it, too 😍 the baby measures 7w 6d so a day behind than what I thought, EDD 28.10.2021. I'm happy and quite tearful if I'm honest 🥲🥲 thank you for keeping your fingers crossed 🤞 for us! Xxx

On the other note, she found a cyst on my ovary and that explains the cramping. She reassured me it does not affect the baby and will most probably disappear by the 12th week scan. I promised myself not to google anything about this 😂 🙄 how do I delete google of my phone, please?

Drumstick1223 · 16/03/2021 20:11

@Ola85 I'm so happy for you. 💕

Step away from Google!

Raggeo · 16/03/2021 20:15

@Ola85 Great news! You can relax tonight.

jellybean13419 · 16/03/2021 20:16

@Ola85 so happy for you 💗 wonderful news! I had a cyst at my scan at 7 weeks 6 days too!! The sonographer put cramping and brown discharge down to this too. They said to me the cyst is the rupture sight of the egg that was fertilised. So they can tell which ovary your baby came from, which I found quite interesting 😊

Ola85 · 16/03/2021 20:20

Thank you ladies xxx

@jellybean13419 yes, I was also told this is post ovulation cyst, so maybe they're not lying to us 🤣

whitershadeofpale · 16/03/2021 20:21

@Ola85 I had a scan at 6 weeks after one sided cramping and they found a cyst too (well actually 2 but one was tiny and should disappear).

mooloop · 16/03/2021 20:28

Aww congratulations @Ola85 Smile!

Drumstick1223 · 16/03/2021 20:32

How is everyone doing tonight?

I'm getting sore heads and also sore joints, mostly wrists. I'm sure I didn't get this till around week 20 last time so don't know what my body is playing at lol.

pixiedust21 · 16/03/2021 21:12

I keep getting caught off guard by how exhausted I feel. I'm not getting loads of sleep at night but I just feel literally drained of energy.

I'm still just eating what I fancy and would just love to curl up in a ball and snooze for about a week !!

Drumstick1223 · 17/03/2021 08:36

I hear ya @pixiedust21 struggling big time with the tiredness. Hope you manage to get a rest at the weekend.

My daughter is having midnight parties just now and has separation anxiety so only mum will do, her dad is lava. Really struggling working 5 days but not sure if I can cut down any. I'll need to have a think as not sure I can do 5 days with two under two. Feeling a bit stressed and emotional this morning. There have been tears. Don't know what's up with me, we can blame hormones right? Lol

Cpr12 · 17/03/2021 08:54

@ola85 so glad your scan went well. And as others have said, I had cysts at an early scan too. I had 3 but they just said they will be measured again and were not worried.

@drumstick1223 so sorry to hear you are finding it hard. I have no kids and it is hard enough. Hope your day gets better and vent on here if you need to, i guess that is what it is for 😘 xx

jellybean13419 · 17/03/2021 08:56

Sorry you're struggling at @Drumstick1223. I honestly never comprehended how hard these first months would be. It's like nothing I expected! Definitely the hormones causing all sorts of feelings. Any chance you can chat to work about how you're feeling?
