So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

Wow @shivawn I do admire you for wearing all that gear in pregnancy!!! You're amazing. I wouldn't have coped...

I feel so exhausted today I can't even describe it. I went to bed really early again last night and woke up absolutely drained. All I can think of is going back home and sleep. Yet I'm at my desk until 3pm, the. I have to do school pick up and serve dinner. I don't have the will to live at this point 😫😫

pixiedust21 · 10/03/2021 12:00

Definitely wish I hadn't complained about no symptoms..... Grin though I still haven't been sick and I wouldn't say I have nausea, I just feel completely wiped out. Thought of food - any food - makes me feel yucky. I might try and have some weetabix.

It's such a strange feeling as I can't really pinpoint one thing that's wrong I just feel URGHHHHG.

Jelliestogether · 10/03/2021 14:25

We wear full PPE too but when pregnant you can only be allocated 'green' patients basically clean.

Definitely feeling that it'll be tricky as the pregnancy progresses!

@pixiedust21 feeling wiped out today too. Don't think the weather is helping, it's miserable out.

Drumstick1223 · 10/03/2021 15:14

@MF1981 it's such a fine balance isn't it? Eating just enough so you don't feel instantly sick but also not letting yourself get hungry.

The 4am hunger is REAL! I can't cope lol. 4am is when my girl decides to wake up for a breastfeed and a snuggle and I'm lying there with my tummy rumbling and can't get back to sleep. Then when it's wake up time I'm so over hungry that I feel sick instantly upon eating. I just cannot take a snack to bed though, I can't let myself do that lol.

I'm hearing everyone on the exhaustion, it gets to 3pm and I can't keep my eyes open.

Had my blood tests today. So things are progressing. So nervous for my scan on Saturday.

rtz22 · 10/03/2021 15:53

Oh my days, 3pm is my new bed time 🤣 very grateful for home working allowing me to sneak in naps... I am dead 🥱

1234Becca · 10/03/2021 17:34

@Drumstick1223 I’m waking up like clockwork at 4am this week!! But do eventually manage to get back to sleep. I’m not sure if it’s because of hunger, probably is 🤣

mooloop · 10/03/2021 17:48

Just had some anti sickness bands delivered (like the ones you wear for car sickness) - I'll try anything at this point 😂 I haven't even had a cup of tea in days, which is SO not like me! The thought of it turns my stomach Sad

firstimemumma29 · 10/03/2021 17:51

I thought I had it bad a few days ago but wow... the nausea is non stop now. All I've stomached today is a ham sandwich and salt and vinegar crisps. I can't even open the fridge as the thought of food is making me feel really unwell. I keep thinking I crave something and then I think again and the craving turns into my feeling sick. I'm also about to get showered and into bed before 6pm 😂 I described it to my husband earlier as feeling constantly hungover

Youllbeoldertoo · 10/03/2021 18:26

Those in your first pregnancy enjoy
It! You don’t get to rest in your second or third! You’re exhausted and sick and have a toddler it’s so much worse!

MF1981 · 10/03/2021 18:50

@firstimemumma29 I’m exactly the same!

@Youllbeoldertoo no way am I doing this again! I’m 40 in a couple of weeks so these 2 I’m growing now are it!

Youllbeoldertoo · 10/03/2021 18:53

@MF1981 aww hope it’s not too much of a rough ride! Will be worth it.

mooloop · 10/03/2021 19:03

@firstimemumma29 yep constant hangover is how I'd describe it too!

whitershadeofpale · 10/03/2021 19:04

@mooloop me too! Been wearing my bands on and off all day and I do think they’re helping to ease it a bit.

mooloop · 10/03/2021 19:06

Oo thanks @whitershadeofpale I hope they help then! My sickness is at it's worst first thing in the morning so I'm gonna try popping them on just before I get out of bed 🤞🏻

Kona84 · 10/03/2021 19:59

Can I join the 4am hunger club and the 3pm nap club.

Felt super bloated today, thankfully my hip is settling down and I think a few more days of stretching and mobility exercises will have it back to normal. I’m going to start some strengthening once I recover.

whitershadeofpale · 10/03/2021 21:40

Is anyone considering buying any new clothes yet? Obviously it’s too soon for maternity but I’m normally an hourglass shape that suits fitted things to the waist and just feel so bloated and self conscious, plus waistbands on jeans etc are really uncomfortable.

I was thinking of maybe one stretchy pair of jeans and a few longline/ tunic style T-shirt’s that will last a good few months and probably post-partum.

Ola85 · 10/03/2021 21:52

@whitershadeofpale i cant stand jeans anymore too! Sooo uncomfortable 🥵 I try and wear tights and a skirt/dress to work and just leggings at home.

mooloop · 10/03/2021 22:02

@whitershadeofpale totally! My jeans and work pants are too uncomfortable now, I'm having to wear dresses every day to work and joggers at the weekends. I'm just so bloated. I don't really want to buy anything so early though until at least my 12 week scan.

Kona84 · 10/03/2021 22:07

When wfh I work in leggings.
Had to go in the office today and wore stretch fit jeans but had to have button open.

pinkpig381 · 11/03/2021 06:26

I totally took this for granted in my first pregnancy, now pregnant with number two and my 18 month old is going through a sleep regression! I just keep telling myself it will get better!
jellybean13419 · 11/03/2021 08:15

@whitershadeofpale I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and the bloat is seriously out of hand now. So I sized up in a few new pairs of leggings and am now opting for any kind of long top or floaty dress until it's maternity close time. The jeans are put away for good I feel 😂

yellowspot · 11/03/2021 08:19

@pinkpig381 I totally feel you. My 18 month old has only just started sleeping through this last month and now has all four fangs cutting at once, a cold and serious attachment issues with DP. 😭

Ola85 · 11/03/2021 10:14

Good morning! How are you all feeling today?

I'm wondering if I should tell my midwife about the private scan or should I keep it hmmm private?

2021WillBeGreat · 11/03/2021 10:38

@Ola85 I wondered this too, I have my appointment on Monday.

8dpwoah · 11/03/2021 10:56

Mine asked me at booking if I'd had a private scan and I think she was all geared up to ask me dates and how many til I said I hadn't so I wouldn't worry about keeping it secret.

Hope everyone is ticking along and finding coping strategies for all the grotty things we're experiencing at the mo. My nausea seems to have handed over the baton to tiredness for now (yes to the 3pm nap!!) but I'm glad, tiredness is a lot easier to manage. When the horrible taste in the mouth goes too I'll be a happy lady I think!
