So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

Looks like we're all having sleepless nights! I never knew it was a thing to have pregnancy dreams or insomnia but it really is. I just hope I get a good nights sleep soon I'm normally an 8 hour a night kind of girl but those days have gone! I also really struggle with naps so sleeping in the day isn't an option.

The waking up hungry is an issue aswell the exact same happens to me 4am I wake up
Starving like I haven't eaten for two days lol

firstimemumma29 · 09/03/2021 12:02

@mooloop I can't even go down the stairs without having to hold my boobs because of the pain 😂 even have to cover my nipples in the shower as the water pressure feels like little knives on them. I'm hoping it will pass in the next week or so. My nausea has stepped up a level today. Went into a petrol station earlier which had a greggs and it made me really heave - I used to love greggs but now the thought of it makes me want to throw up.

Hi everyone! First time posting but been following for a while! I’m 8 + 1 today & I’m one of those with minimal symptoms! Have had some tailbone pain, boobs were a bit sore and fancied cereal a few times but that’s all! Desperate for the scan to make sure it’s all ok & make it feel real. Never thought I’d actually be wishing to have the sickness 😂 time is passing by so, so slowly 🙈 another month til the scan too. hope everyone is feeling good! X

Jelliestogether · 09/03/2021 14:12

Another one here who has been following but first time posting. I'm around 7+3 today, not really got any symptoms other than tiredness and v occasional nausea. I'm really wanting an early scan for a bit of reassurance but my OH isn't keen, plus it's difficult for childcare for our 18m as she's not allowed in.

Not yet told anyone else. Although I work within the NHS, on annual leave this week, so I'm thinking I'll probably have to tell my manager next week for my safety but really nervous as not had a scan etc. My booking appointment is 1st April and scan isn't until 13th April....feels like forever away!!!

Ola85 · 09/03/2021 14:38

@Jelliestogether @1234Becca welcome and thanks for joining!

I don't know if it's normal but I feel hunger every hour and if I don't eat then nausea hits me so in reality I eat almost all the time! Anyone else with the same problem?
I had a bowl of fruit, then porridge, a piece of cake and soup & toast for lunch and it's only middle of the day!

1234Becca · 09/03/2021 14:44

@Ola85 thanks! I have found that I’m more snacky and can’t be that bothered with big meals. Feeling more like grazing. Been making energy balls which has been good for that.

Jl2020 · 09/03/2021 15:21

@Jelliestogether @1234Becca welcome girlsSmile

@Ola85 I feel constantly hungry at the moment but with no nausea my appetite is just through the roof and can't stop eating, I don't want to gain loads of extra weight so need to try keep it under control 😂

MeltingSnowflake · 09/03/2021 15:23

@Ola85 I’m with you. I have eaten SO much today! At least your fruit and porridge and soup are healthy 😁 I’m just eating bucket loads of carbs - I can’t get enough.

I’m also absolutely knackered and I feel so unproductive 😩

shivawn · 09/03/2021 16:28

Jelliestogether Similar to you, I'm working in healthcare, getting an early scan this week (at 9 weeks) just for extra reassurance in case I need to tell work early. I'm not actually planning on telling anyone until after my 12 week scan but if it happens that I get a patient after a PET scan or whatever then I'll have to say it to the girls.

Kona84 · 09/03/2021 16:34

Hi ladies I’m 8weeks exactly today and not really got many symptoms.
I have been wanting oranges more and yesterday I had no appetite for anything then went to supermarket to pick up some milk and walked out with a quiche and coleslaw that I just had to have.

jellybean13419 · 09/03/2021 16:59

I can't stop eating either guys! It's getting quite out of hand 😂 it's very true that if you don't eat every two hours, you feel sick. Also need to curb this because I have a first degree relative with diabetes, I have to have the tests done on the 28th March. So prob not the best to be eating all of the carbs, but there we are 😄

mooloop · 09/03/2021 17:39

Omg I'm so jealous of all of you that can eat loads!! My nausea is actually hideous, it's all day now but worst in the morning 🤢 I've had to run upstairs to escape the smell of whatever DH is cooking because I can't stand it!

MF1981 · 09/03/2021 17:42

I’m also jealous of those of you who can eat loads - I feel nauseous all day but it’s worse in the evenings

Melrose86 · 09/03/2021 17:44

Hi everyone. Congratulations to you all. I had my implant removed in January and got pregnant straight away! Estimated due date is 21st October. I had my booking appointment today which seemed really early as I'm about 7 weeks. I also told my boss today. Wasn't planning too but he was about to hold as meeting about future plans and my pregnancy changes those so that threw him! I've been very nauseous all day every day. Feel better when I eat but I never want what's in the house! This is baby number 2 for me :)

Conundrum12345 · 09/03/2021 20:06

I had an early scan today I'm 7+1 and the little heartbeat was pumping awayGrin

Such a relief to see it.

jellybean13419 · 09/03/2021 20:19

@Conundrum12345 ohhh congratulations, that is lovely news 💗 xxxx

Ola85 · 09/03/2021 21:16

@Conundrum12345 so happy for you! Wonderful news at the end of the day 😍

@Melrose86 hi! It's so good that you got pregnant so quickly, congratulations! Sorry about the all day nausea though...

I just had an email and so next week I have an early scan on Tuesday, midwife interview on Wednesday and booking appointment on Thursday. The latter is in the local birth centre!!

Drumstick1223 · 09/03/2021 21:41

@Conundrum12345 congratulations it's so lovely to see 💕

Drumstick1223 · 09/03/2021 21:43

@MF1981 I'm with you on the nausea. My portion sizes are so small which is not like me haha. Turned off anything tomato sauce based, which is a shame as I love tomato pasta usually lol.
Crackers with butter is my go to. I feel ok when eating them, but then ill afterwards. There's no real rhyme nor reason and was nothing like this in my first pregnancy.

MF1981 · 09/03/2021 22:17

@Drumstick1223 yeah I’ve been snacking on plain crackers. It’s so depressing! And I’m the same - really small portions. But also can’t let myself get hungry as that’s awful too. Interesting that you didn’t have this previously - I guess every pregnancy is different though. I can’t wait for this part to be over and I can move on to trying to enjoy it a bit before my bump becomes so huge that I’m miserable again!

Kona84 · 09/03/2021 22:27

Anyone struggling with their hips?
I am hypermobile and find the comfiest position to sit is with my legs crossed tucked up under me. Never had an issue except getting told off by my partner for damaging my posture.
Well last night I got up off the couch and cannot part my legs. I had no anterior or interior rotation. Can lift up and down fine.
I downplayed it and have spent the day stretching but no matter what I do it feels like my hip is stuck in the socket.
Hip dysplasia was a worry on my mind but no this early on.
I’m dreading having to see a physio I really hate been touched.

Kona84 · 09/03/2021 22:28

Crossed OR tucked up under me. Not both at once lol

poodlepip · 10/03/2021 09:15

@Kona84 sorry your hip is so painful. I also get pain from hypermobility. The hormone changes in pregnancy make everything even looser. Physio sounds a good idea they don't always have to touch you. I would suggest strengthening not stretching as that might not help I'm hypermobility.
I think hip dysplasia is more of a worry for the baby not for the mum?

Jelliestogether · 10/03/2021 09:19

@shivawn unfortunately as soon as I'm back at work I could be allocated a patient with unknown covid status so would have to let them know sooner rather than later. The more I think about it, I'd love an early scan but it's just not going to happen due to childcare.

Sorry lots of people are feeling so sick, I tend to feel a little nauseous if I haven't eaten but that's about all.

@Kona84 I'd recommend you speaking to your gp to be referred to a physio before it gets any worse

shivawn · 10/03/2021 09:26

unfortunately as soon as I'm back at work I could be allocated a patient with unknown covid status so would have to let them know sooner rather than later.

We're the same but we're all fully vaccinated and have to work in full PPE (long gown, googles and FFP3 mask all day, even with negative patients) so I'm not so concerned about the covid risk. I do think the PPE is going to be more and more of a struggle as pregnancy progresses, really hoping that we might be able to go back to regular surgical masks by the end of summer..
