So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

@Mumnttc hope you're doing better today? I hope you've managed to stay at home if you needed to. Definitely worth calling your midwife or doctor if you're not able to keep anything down. I don't have many tips I'm afraid as I just get the nausea not the actual sickness. Sounds awful. Hang in there 💕 sending hugs.

rtz22 · 08/03/2021 15:33

Oh my goodness, all you absolute troopers fighting the fight with morning sickness. It's really no joke, I hope you all feel better soon. Juggling this with work really deserves a medal, even more so for it being International Women's Day today! I have the odd day where the nausea does not leave me and all food disgusts me, but you lot are tough stuff. Well done ladies. Hang in there!

Drumstick1223 · 08/03/2021 16:22

My nausea is still coming and going. Weirdly I'm fine when I eat fresh fruit and veg so getting lots of that in, which also helps the constipation, but sometimes makes tummy worse too. Also dry crackers.

I've had some twinges etc too, quite sore, especially when I sneeze, I forgot how sore that could be in early pregnancy.

Also just exhausted. Constantly. But think my 14 month old has something to do with that as well. Lol.

Has my booking appt, got my bloods booked for Wednesday. I'm on red path way due to bmi, previous emergency section and I've previous high blood loss. So I'll be consultant led.

I booked another private scan for Saturday as my NHS one is a few weeks away and I can't stand the not knowing if everything is ok in there or not.

Hope you're all doing well 💜

Drumstick1223 · 08/03/2021 16:25

My tailbone also REALLY hurts. I have had pain in it since my last pregnancy, normally when I've sat for too long, but even ten mins and it's hurting just now, it's near impossible to stand up at first. I'm like a 100 year old woman! 🙈🤣

pixiedust21 · 08/03/2021 17:16

Hope everyone is managing ok?

No nausea for me still but my goodness I feel like I've been hit by a truck these last few days I am just SO. TIRED.

Struggling to stay awake while working and just collapsing in a bit of a heap after doing anything!!

Generally a bit off food and feeling just.... "off" but I know I have it easy compared to those struggling with sickness, don't know how you're managing :(

MeltingSnowflake · 08/03/2021 17:26

Goodness, I think we all need bloody medals - with the sickness, random pains, tiredness, mood swings, and random cravings - it's insane!

Hope you're both doing ok @AS1188 and @Mumnttc Flowers

I'm seriously considering buying maternity bras already - my cups runneth over and I'm only 6+5! The only bras that fit me now are sports bras - anyone else having this problem??

poodlepip · 08/03/2021 17:55

@MeltingSnowflake yesss just had to buy new sports bras! Need super comfortable like 2 sizes bigger. And some joggers can stand tight waist anything !

I really think they should rebrand morning sickness, it's so much more than nausea and constant. Maternity exhaustion? Growing life and a whole new organ (placenta) is soo hard. Happy women's Day to us 💪♀️

mooloop · 08/03/2021 17:59

Hope everybody's doing ok today!

The sickness is getting worse day on day now 😩 I was actually sick twice this morning before work and I've felt queasy all day. Every other day so far I've not been sick and felt better in the afternoon. What a crazy ride this is gonna be! I've ordered some of those bands for your wrists in case they help, and I've had to tell DH I can't face his cooking and need supernoodles for tea 🙈

AS1188 · 08/03/2021 18:14

@MeltingSnowflake thanks - I called EPU but they said what I thought which was as I've already been scanned early and they ruled out ectopic they wouldn't have me back unless it was heavy red blood. Pains have calmed a lot and spotting is v minimal. I just feel sick with worry that I'm waiting for the inevitable :(

Ronnii · 08/03/2021 18:15

Oh yes my boobs are huge and they were big to start with so it's a bit out of hand lol

Ronnii · 08/03/2021 18:16

Fingers crossed for you @AS1188. I know it's tough not knowing

Garman · 08/03/2021 18:18

Well I had a good run, I made it from finding out at 3+4 to now at 6+3 without being nauseous, but now it's started. Last time I was nauseous literally from 4 weeks so I was delighted this time not to have it.

I finally made a gp appointment and will hopefully get a scan in epu at about 9 weeks to see if it's another mmc or still going at that stage for the time being.

AS1188 · 08/03/2021 18:21

@Ronnii thank you! Will know more on Saturday at my private scan unless something happens before. Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx

Jl2020 · 08/03/2021 18:23

I hope the sickness manages to ease up for you allSmile
I'm 6+5 and have no nausea or tiredness or anything I am wishing for the sickness to come just so I know something is happening! I did do another test this morning just to be sure I'm actually still pregnant lol (stupid I know) as it doesn't really mean anything but just wanted to be sure there was still some hcg in my body. Hoping I'm just one of the lucky ones that isn't going to suffer this time round

mooloop · 08/03/2021 18:44

@AS1188 wishing you all the best, hopefully it's just annoying spotting. I know a girl who didn't realise she was pregnant until she was already 5 months gone because she'd had regular period-level bleeds, so I'm sure it doesn't always mean the worst ❤️

pixiedust21 · 08/03/2021 18:54

@Jl2020 I've had no nausea at all either and I'm 8+6, I've taken a few tests too just to be sure. I have started feeling a bit "off" and very tired but no sickness so hopefully we are just lucky :) Icknow what you mean about wanting a symptom just to know something is happening but equally if you do get something you'll probably wish you felt like you do now so it's a vicious circle Grin

Jl2020 · 08/03/2021 19:43

@pixiedust21 I'm glad I'm not the only one with no nausea and I definitely think we must be the lucky ones and should just be grateful we aren't feeling awful. I hope it continues that way for you :)

hopefully it doesn't hit me too hard later on as like you said if the nausea does come I'm sure I will be wishing I didn't have it lol. I'm one of 7 and my mum never had any sickness or really any symptoms in any of her pregnancies so maybe I'm just following after her Smile I have also heard nausea can be worse if your carrying a girl, definitely not sure how true that is though! X

pixiedust21 · 08/03/2021 20:01

@Jl2020 yes could definitely be just luck so fingers crossed. I've heard that too about boy/girl babies so will be interesting to find out!

Ola85 · 08/03/2021 20:09

I spent yesterday curled up on the sofa as my tummy feels weird. It a weird uncomfortable feeling but I can't really say if it's cramps, bloating, trapped wind or things stretching. I definitely didn't had similar pains in my previous pregnancy. They're mild but constant and I can't help but worry somethings not right. I have 8 days till my early scan.
I am also super tired, I nap everyday and I generally wake up exhausted. Everything seems a big task and I do things very slowly...
another thing is eating - I need to eat something every hour, otherwise I feel sick 😷 not good for my weight so I hope this won't last long ...

I admire all mums with toddlers to look after, seriously you're heroes 🦸‍♀️

Jl2020 · 08/03/2021 20:30

@pixiedust21 will definitely be interesting to find out :)

Has anyone noticed they just can't get a good nights sleep and have the most crazy dreams? That's one thing I have noticed in the last week, even when I'm dreaming it's like I'm not actually properly asleep, it's hard to explain but I feel like I'm awake all night!

poodlepip · 08/03/2021 21:40

@Ola85 defintely sounds like same I had weird cramping and everything was fine on the scan. Could they bring it forward to ease your worry?

I had a bleed at 5-6 weeks before knew was pregnant and thought it was a period, only checked after having pain. Was quite funny really as bought new period pants and just thought they were REALLY effective but was probably just super light 😆

My mum didn't find out she was pregnancy with my brother for 6 months! So defintely possible to have no symptoms at all and bleeding! (He is a totally normal human too 🙂)

jellybean13419 · 09/03/2021 08:01

@Jl2020 YES. Oh my goodness. It's the most frustrating things isn't it? I've had it all the way along since about 3 weeks. I'm now 10+4. It also gives me insomnia cos sometimes the dreams are so vivid I find it impossible to get back to sleep again. Just makes the tiredness even worse 😴

Drumstick1223 · 09/03/2021 10:53

Yes to the sleeps. My little girl had her best sleep ever last night and I couldn't sleep past 4am 😩😩 also waking up hungry at 4am 🙈🤣

rtz22 · 09/03/2021 11:34

@Jl2020 Yes, the dreams these days are vivid and strange!! ... did not know insomnia was a potential side effect of this adventure 😳 !

shivawn · 09/03/2021 11:47

Around 9 weeks now, have an early scan booked for Thursday. My breasts were super sore around week 5 and I had a few days of exhaustion and fatigue at week 6 that I put down to pregnancy but in retrospect was probably a bug. For the last few weeks I've had nothing at all, I rarely even think about the pregnancy it feels so abstract to me. Scan might help make things a bit more real.
