So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

Ugh my smugness at my lack of sickness is officially over. It’s 2:30am and I’ve just woken up with the most hideous sick feeling. It’s horrid!! 🤢

whitershadeofpale · 28/02/2021 02:56

I’m with you @MeltingSnowflake I haven’t been sick yet, but can’t sleep due to sickness and am sure it’s imminent.

Ola85 · 28/02/2021 07:07

Congrats to all nauseous ladies just got what you asked for lol

I did the digital this morning and it says 3+ so I'm happy 😃

Ola85 · 28/02/2021 07:11

@WiltshireSteph that's so nice you saw the gummy bear!
I plan to have my baby in a local hospital but in my previous pregnancies the midwife never really asked me that question I think she just presumed this would be my choice 🤷‍♀️

firsttimemumma29 · 28/02/2021 07:46

Just came across this thread and wanted to join. Found out I was pregnant on the 22nd Feb, currently tracking 5+2 and due October 30th (also my husbands birthday)! Have first midwife appointment booked 20th March but I'm meant to be moving house, to a completely new area at the end of March. Has anyone ever moved during pregnancy and can recommend whether I should cancel my current midwife appointment and set one up for the area I'm moving to? Xx

Ronnii · 28/02/2021 08:15

@WiltshireSteph midwife asked where I wanted to give birth on the call to arrange booking. I assumed the nearest hospital.

@firsttimemumma29 I've got no experience but I'd let the midwife know it's going to happen

MeltingSnowflake · 28/02/2021 08:30

@whitershadeofpale I had no idea it would strike in the middle of the night! It was awful, so much worse than I’d expected, I could barely move. But now fine! Did you manage to get back to sleep? And how are you feeling now?

@Ola85 really did get what I asked for! 🙈🤢

MeltingSnowflake · 28/02/2021 08:32

Congrats on your scans @Jessica86Shropshire and @WiltshireSteph 🥳 It must have been amazing to see them!!!

MeltingSnowflake · 28/02/2021 08:34

Hi @AmberellaM and @firsttimemumma29 👋🏻 Welcome!

cooper96 · 28/02/2021 09:29

@Jessica86Shropshire

I've just had my first early scan (at 7+1) and would really recommend it to put your minds at ease. I've been worrying like a lot of you as have had only very mild nausea, a bit of bloating and sore boobs as my only symptoms so far. Beyond measuring baby and checking there's a heart beat they also make sure everything (your ovaries etc) look as it should which is also super helpful and reassuring!
What a lovely scan!! Do you mind me asking if this was internal or an abdomen scan? Xx

Jessica86Shropshire · 28/02/2021 09:34

@cooper96 thank you. It was an abdominal scan but the lady doing the scan did warn me before we started that it an abdominal scan doesn't work for everyone so she may have to do an internal scan if she couldn't see anything from an abdominal scan. Luckily she could!

Raggeo · 28/02/2021 09:39

@firsttimemumma29 Not exactly the same but I moved country when I was 8 weeks pregnant last year.Unfortunately I miscarried soon after but this is what I did before then. I got as much done as possible at my previous address, just in case there would be some delay getting registered again in the UK. I did phone ahead to the midwives at my new address and ask them what I should do. They reassured me that it was fine to contact them once I had arrived and they would have enough time to organise a booking appointment and 12 week scan.if you can find contact details it might be worth phoning to see what yours say. Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck with the move.

Mumnttc · 28/02/2021 12:16

I had my scan yesterday and I measured at 8 weeks! So now due 9th October 😊 it was amazing to see the little bean and the heartbeat! Hopefully I'll hear from the midwife this week about my booking appointment and NHS scan 😊

Ola85 · 28/02/2021 14:02

@Mumnttc beautiful bean!! How long did it last (the scan) and what do they tell you apart from there is one baby? 😀

Mumnttc · 28/02/2021 14:31

Thank you @ola85!

It was about 15 mins, go in and they turn the tvs off just in case, then once they find baby they turn them on. They had a good look around and made sure there is just the 1! Then she did the measurements and dated the pregnancy. She showed us the heartbeat and then checked my ovaries and uterus. I had a very full bladder which she showed me too 😂 and her pressing on it didn't help matters haha. We got 2 images and a little pack which has a pregnancy journal and a little MAM bottle in which is cute! Not bad for £55!

whitershadeofpale · 28/02/2021 15:13

@MeltingSnowflake My sickness did go off and I got some sleep but I’ve had horrendous trapped wind today. So painful!

Ola85 · 28/02/2021 15:20

@Mumnttc this is so lovely that they actually make an effort to make it a memorable experience! Fantastic news!

@whitershadeofpale this sounds fun 🤩 poor you!
I just came back from a lovely family walk - walking makes me feel nauseous 🤷‍♀️ now resting sipping cranberry juice and feeling better!

whitershadeofpale · 28/02/2021 16:47

I’m resting and nibbling on ginger nuts, they do help!

OnceUponAThread · 28/02/2021 17:00

All these scan results are so lovely. Partly really excited for tomorrow, partly terrified.

Still no nausea here and very few symptoms at all which isn't helping. Paranoid something is wrong. 😔

8dpwoah · 28/02/2021 17:32

Has anybody got a horrible lingering sweet taste in their mouth? Having sweet things makes it worse but I've gone off them anyway. People seem to get a metallic taste but this is sugary rather than coppery!

M392 · 28/02/2021 18:27

Heyy mammas let me just start by saying congratulations
Sorry if this has already been asked im new to this and its my first pregnancy very anxious im around 6+5 and already experiencing some worrying signs had an early scan at epu as a self referral at 5 weeks but to early to tell got another scan on Wednesday at 7 weeks just wondering when when your symptoms started as im not really experiencing any and also when does the midwife get in touch i been in contact with the gp when i first found out and got told i would get a phone call that week its now been nearly 5 weeks and ive still not heard or had any information off gp/ midwife and i really dont like to mither with covid i know they are really busy but just feel abit let down and very anxious epu have been great scanning but not really been informative about anything else ive resorted to googling most things which was great as i have come across this group but not so great but not so great about other things Flowerstyi x

Ola85 · 28/02/2021 19:09

@M392 welcome and congratulations!
It's completely normal to feel anxious and scared, we're all here worrying everyday about every little symptom or no symptom!
I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby but feel completely lost 🤷‍♀️ it's been 10 years since I was last pregnant and you do forget things!

As for the symptoms - when I got pregnant with my 2ds I had none. I remember I called my mum who is a nurse and I sobbed that my baby is probably not developing because I don't feel sick and nauseous. I was very naive! He's a healthy boy and trust me I was sick numerous times just a bit later on.
If you're not bleeding, not having strong pains, than there is a big possibility you're just one of the few lucky girls that get it easy (for now)
How old are you? Can you talk to your partner and have his support? Time will drag now, I know, there's not much we can do...just take care of ourselves and hope for the best. 🥰

M392 · 28/02/2021 19:24

congratulations on your 3rd and thankyou for for your reply had slight bleeding at 5wks (no pain) just hoping it was implantation trying not to worry until the scan on Wednesday my partner has been amazing we haven't told anyone yet and not planning on doing untill 14wk just hard trying to to worry and worrying if im eating the right foods etc this group is great though its good to hear from other mums to be and their experiencesx
