So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

@whitershadeofpale i totally get what your saying I’m over analysing everything at the moment.

Currently 4+6 and woke up at 5.30 today to awful nausea /diorehhea (sorry not sure how you spell it), painful gas like tummy pains (sorry TMI) surely it’s too early?! Has anyone else experienced this yet?

I’m constantly worried it’s something wrong with the baby and expect to see blood when I wee.

Jl2020 · 27/02/2021 07:56

My nausea is only bad first thing in the morning at the moment. I did have a tiny bit of spotting last night so trying not to freak out and over analyse it. I really wish pregnancy didn’t come with all the constant fear of something going wrong x

Upupupintheair · 27/02/2021 08:20

@Jl2020 hopefully you’re able to relax a bit today. Pregnancy is so difficult mentally isn’t it - much harder than I thought it would be.

Jl2020 · 27/02/2021 08:26

@Upupupintheair thankyou, I’m going to go for a walk in the sun and try clear my head a little bit today. It definitely does take a toll on your mental health, but I guess even after you have a baby you probably constantly worry about them even as they grow up so maybe it’s just nature’s way of preparing us for what’s to come in life with a child lol x

MeltingSnowflake · 27/02/2021 08:59

@Mumnttc good luck at your scan!!

@whitershadeofpale that does sound scary - it’s great you were able to go straight to EPU and get that reassurance, but I know you won’t stop worrying until you’ve had your scan. Good luck!!!

jellybean13419 · 27/02/2021 09:43

@Upupupintheair I remember having this around 5 weeks too. Really really awful trapped wind pains. And like you, constantly going to the loo expecting blood. The pharmacist advised me to take Rennie Deflatine as it's safe in pregnancy, changed everything digestive wise. And haven't had any issues since. Might be worth a trip to the pharmacist if it continues xx
@Jl2020 hope you're doing ok this morning. Has the spotting stopped now? It's so easy to assume everything you feel is wrong and bad in some way isn't it? 😣

Jl2020 · 27/02/2021 11:23

@jellybean13419 thankyou, it seems to have stopped today just but now paranoid every time I go to the toilet, I know it’s silly to be so worried all the time but I had spotting about this time in the pregnancy last year when I had an mmc and everyone told me not to worry it was normal and it didn’t end well so just trying to keep positive but also not to get my hopes up. Hope you’re doing ok x

mooloop · 27/02/2021 12:47

Omg my scan letter arrived today! It feels a bit more real now 🤯

It's on the 12th April, seems like forever away! Dreading asking work for the time off 🙈

33Carr · 27/02/2021 13:38

@mooloop Ahhh that's so exciting!!! I've had a letter come through to make an appointment at the gynecology department 🤔 I have no idea if that's for a scan or wether it's to do with fertility scans :s

Jessica86Shropshire · 27/02/2021 14:10

I've just had my first early scan (at 7+1) and would really recommend it to put your minds at ease. I've been worrying like a lot of you as have had only very mild nausea, a bit of bloating and sore boobs as my only symptoms so far. Beyond measuring baby and checking there's a heart beat they also make sure everything (your ovaries etc) look as it should which is also super helpful and reassuring!

mooloop · 27/02/2021 14:42

Awww how lovely @Jessica86Shropshire!! Smile

Jl2020 · 27/02/2021 14:50

@Jessica86Shropshire awww congratulations! :)

Jessica86Shropshire · 27/02/2021 14:53

Thank you everyone for your very kind words Smile

Just wanted to share here as it's instantly made me feel so much more relaxed as someone who was very worried (only having very mild symptoms and it being my first pregnancy).

Ola85 · 27/02/2021 15:19

@Jessica86Shropshire this is lovely 😍😍 thank you for posting, it helps a lot to read a happy positive news :)

I have to admit I bought two more tests 🤷‍♀️ the digital ones that tell you how many weeks. I'm so stressed this is ridiculous 😕 Have you all stopped testing at this point?

Yes! I ordered more tests earlier this week as I was so worried. They just kept telling me pregnant 3+ weeks of course Smile. I would book a scan - DH and I feel a bit more like we can be positive and hopeful about things now.

Raggeo · 27/02/2021 15:34

@jessica86Shropshire Thanks for sharing. Must be a relief for you now. So exciting!

@Ola85 I'm not testing anymore but I have only taken 2 tests... 1 to find out then a double check.

poodlepip · 27/02/2021 16:15

Aw - great early scan! Peace of mind.
I haven't thought about more testing... I think it would make me feel more worried than less :-s
I got my booking appointment for March 8th when will be nearly 9w

Feeling totally exhausted is anyone else? I have just needed to nap constantly - feeling very lazy!

poodlepip · 27/02/2021 16:18

Also I told my manager at work as was feeling ill last week and for health and safety as it's a medical centre. she was lovely and keeping am eye out for me which is nice. I am trying to be very "breezy " about everything
Anyone else told work?

Ola85 · 27/02/2021 16:44

@poodlepip I haven't told anyone except my husband. I'm not even thinking about telling at work at the moment. Definitely not before the scan

Ola85 · 27/02/2021 16:45

@Jessica86Shropshire I have booked a test for 16th March - I will be 8 weeks exactly then. 17 more days! X

Jessica86Shropshire · 27/02/2021 18:30

@Ola85 so exciting - suddenly makes it very real!

AmberellaM · 27/02/2021 21:07

Hi all hope you don’t mind me joining...

I’m five weeks and due 26th October. Suffering from some cramps and super sensitive boobs! I am contemplating just living in my bra because taking it off feels the worst!

This is my first pregnancy and more anxious about the changes at the moment rather than the little bundle at the end... I’m sure that will change though.

Hope everyone is doing well x

Ola85 · 27/02/2021 22:18

Welcome @AmberellaM and congratulations!
I know exactly how it hurts when taking off a bra! I'm 34D and they feel so bruised! And this is just the beginning 😀
When did you get your positive? Have you told friends and family yet?

WiltshireSteph · 27/02/2021 23:24

Sorry ladies missed the thread for a couple of days.
@jellybean13419 I have also stopped feeling nauseous these last couple of days. At the after of the week I felt really sick all day and have done all week but yesterday and today I feel fine. Worrying but trying not to worry at the same time.
I has my early scan yesterday and it was lovely. The gummy bear is healthy and all is ok with me. They even dated me 6 days ahead of what nhs online calculator did. So I'm 9 weeks today! Got my booking in appointment with the midwife next week. For those who have had their appointments will the midwife expect you to decide which hospital/birthing center you want to use?
