So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

@Ola85 just done the test there and exact same, if anything control line slightly lighter again with a strong preg line. I bought a different brand of tests but even so they're exactly the same so my partner still kind of doesn't believe it lol.

I've got a private scan booked on Monday and will take things from there. Hope everything is ok with the little jellybean, need to start looking after myself again properly.

OnceUponAThread · 26/02/2021 15:19

@Drumstick1223 my private scan is Monday too! Fingers crossed we both have good news to share then!!!

Drumstick1223 · 26/02/2021 15:20

@OnceUponAThread good luck for Monday 🤞🏻🤞🏻 mine is in the evening so will report back. When is yours?

OnceUponAThread · 26/02/2021 15:22

@Drumstick1223 early evening too. Quite scared. It's my first too so not sure what to expect.

Drumstick1223 · 26/02/2021 15:22

Also just called my midwifes as I'm 8/9 weeks so they've going to call me Monday, do a mini booking appt and sort things from there.

Hope you ladies are all doing well.

I remember with my first girl I found out like 3 days before my missed period and I remember how slowly this time goes, I feel like I've kinda stole 4 weeks. Will just be glad when Monday comes and hopefully I know everything is ok x

Drumstick1223 · 26/02/2021 15:24

@OnceUponAThread you will be absolutely fine. The sonographer are usually lovely and reassuring as they're used to dealing with parents in early stages of pregnancy. I think you need a full bladder, sometimes they can't see and will ask you to empty your bladder and do a vaginal scan, but most often they don't need to. I'm just saying this so that you know. Look forward to your update on Monday

OnceUponAThread · 26/02/2021 15:28

Thank you that's really useful! Finding I need to wee a lot at the moment so I'll need to get the right balance between full bladder and wetting myself on the way there. Shock

MeltingSnowflake · 26/02/2021 15:54

@OnceUponAThread I’m worried about that too 😄

Jl2020 · 26/02/2021 17:59

@OnceUponAThread @Drumstick1223 wishing you ladies all the luck for your scans on Monday 💛

Has anyone else been told to download and use the Maternity Notes app by midwife? Not sure if it's a national thing or just my area. They don't have paper files anymore so all notes, test results and appointment information will be on this app. Sound easier and more efficient.

Ronnii · 26/02/2021 18:40

It hasn't been said to me yet @Raggeo but I having had booking appt yet. I was quite looking forward to a hard copy of the notes 😬

Ronnii · 26/02/2021 18:40

Haven't had a booking appt*

Ola85 · 26/02/2021 18:47

I haven't even told my GP I'm pregnant....how many weeks were you all when you informed your GP?

Ola85 · 26/02/2021 18:49

My neighbour just came over to the door (I don't see her very often) she had her 10 month old baby with her - omg 😱 my maternal feelings are through the roof 😂

jellybean13419 · 26/02/2021 18:51

@Raggeo I got given a folder yesterday after my booking appointment. Could be a trial run where you are to see how it works. Sounds like a good idea though, there's so much paperwork in the folder, couldn't believe it.
@Ola85 i phoned my GP after I found out which was 5 + 1, got told to self refer to the midwife on the internet, did it straight away. Then the midwife phoned about 8 days later and arranged my booking appointment for when I'd be 9 weeks. Hope that helps 😊 x

Ola85 · 26/02/2021 19:02

@jellybean13419 that's helpful thank you. I need to find the courage to do this. I guess it gives them a chance to find me a date in their calendar for the appointment. X

jellybean13419 · 26/02/2021 19:07

@Ola85 yes definitely. Think there is a baby boom going down in my area at the moment. My midwife said she is literally fully booked 6 days a week with ladies at the moment. I'm blaming lockdown 😂 let us know when you do it 😊 xx

8dpwoah · 26/02/2021 19:11

@Raggeo I've been told to download it too and I'll get my access at booking appointment. Agree it seems a lot better way of doing things assuming they do get chance to update stuff, I remember the admin load when I was on postnatal seemed insane so I guess it's the same beforehand. I did photocopy all my notes before I handed them in when we were discharged by the midwife though Blush

Ola85 · 26/02/2021 19:31

@jellybean13419 I can't believe we're the part of "mum and dad didn't socially distance" club. How wouldn't thought 🤣

Ola85 · 26/02/2021 19:32
  • who would've thought
mooloop · 26/02/2021 20:02

@Raggeo mine's the same, I have the app too. I don't mind the idea of it being an app, it's quite handy that it has your appointment times in it. I keep opening the app up in a sort of disbelief that it's real 😂

I've got a telephone call appointment on the 14th and a face to face one on the 16th, I'll be around 8 weeks ish then Smile

tomahto · 26/02/2021 20:20

What do you get in your document folder from your midwife appointment? We are thinking of going private but was not sure if we will have all the same healthcare information in there?

Mumnttc · 26/02/2021 22:57

Whoever is wishing for sickness, does anyone want to swap? 😂 I'm on antisickness tablets that send me to sleep but I've still been sick today.

Looking forward to tomorrow though! Private early reassurance scan! 😍

whitershadeofpale · 26/02/2021 23:31

@Raggeo I had a leaflet about it enclosed with my letter confirming my booking appointment but no details about when I’m supposed to use it, if I’ll have paper notes and if I need to have it set up before my appointment.

I had a bit of a scare today as I’ve had some one sided cramping since yesterday which were getting worse and I had some shoulder pain.

I was told to go straight to the EPU and was examined and it all seems ok, my cervix was closed, no blood and my stomach was soft. She thinks the shoulder pain was unrelated. I’ve got to have a scan, just in case, but not until Monday when I’ll be 6 weeks.

I feel more reassured but I know I’ll sleep terribly on Sunday night.

whitershadeofpale · 26/02/2021 23:33

One thing I didn’t know about pregnancy was how shitscared id be about every little thing. A loss has made that worse but even the first time I was unprepared for how much time I’d spend questioning every little twinge or sensation!
