So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

Echoing what @Garman has said 😔 unfortunately I found I felt worse if I'd actually been sick than I did with just the nausea. It seemed to make the nausea worse. If you're really struggling contact the GP, it's a long road if you're feeling really unwell x

Kona84 · 26/02/2021 08:45

Anyone struggling to button their jeans?
Have to sit with them popped open atm. Far too early to be needing to buy maternity clothes.

jellybean13419 · 26/02/2021 08:53

Morning everyone. I had terrible sickness and nausea week 7. 9 weeks today and it's calmed down massively, as long as I eat every two hours. But like has been said, I expected relief after being sick and sadly not. Definitely felt worse after! The things these little beans put us through. Trying not to think too much into it about feeling better, it's mad wishing for something back 😂 anyone who has been pregnant before, do you remember feeling better around the 9 week mark? Trying not to Dr Google either.. X

jellybean13419 · 26/02/2021 08:54

@Kona84 yes on the buttoning the jeans up front. It isn't good! The bloat is real isn't it 😂 x

Jl2020 · 26/02/2021 09:10

Morning ladies, the nausea is real for me today too for the first time. Fortunately that’s my only symptom atm even though I think it may be the worse one lol x

Raggeo · 26/02/2021 09:12

I'm trying to wear my favourite jeans as much as possible just now while they still fit me😂
I'm 5w+2 and this morning I feel nauseous for the first time. Doesn't that super sensitive smell is one of my pregnancy symptoms and I can smell last night's cooked chicken all through the house. DH can't smell anything!

Jl2020 · 26/02/2021 09:39

@Raggeo I’m 5w+2 today aswell! Must be something about this day the nausea kicks in 🤮 I don’t have the heightened sense of smell yet but I’m sure that will follow shortly and make the nausea seem so much worse haha x

Raggeo · 26/02/2021 09:53

@jl2020 the sense of smell was the first sign that I might be pregnant. For a couple of days I kept telling DH that he had to wear more deodorant cause he smelled bad😂 he insisted that he didn't and the last time I told him this was when I was pregnant😂 so I took the test.

Jl2020 · 26/02/2021 10:02

@Raggeo that’s hilarious you made him wear more deodorant because you felt like he smelt 😂 last time I fell Pregnant I could really smell the bin even if it wasn’t full and didn’t need emptying I could just smell it from a mile off and hated it had to keep it outside lol x

MeltingSnowflake · 26/02/2021 10:04

@Raggeo & @Jl2020 I’m 5w+2 as well! 😁 Weirdly, I woke up at 4am this morning with a bit of nausea but it’s gone now. No heightened sense of smell though 🤷🏻‍♀️ What a strange time!! 😄

Kona84 · 26/02/2021 10:04

I haven’t had any nausea yet. If it wasn’t for the slightly sore boobs I wouldn’t even know I was pregnant

jellybean13419 · 26/02/2021 10:06

@Raggeo love this 😂 mine came back from the kitchen the other day and I turned to him and said have you just had a KitKat?! And he tried to lie. Pregnancy sense of smell never lies 🤣

8dpwoah · 26/02/2021 10:06

Massive sympathy to everyone with sickness going on ☹️ I've just had 24/7 nausea so far, managing it by eating. I think it went at about week 10 for me last time but I wasn't sick very much that time either.

Massive yes to the tight trouser problem, I blow up like a balloon by the end of the day! Not enough for maternity clothes yet after they were stretched last time but definitely too much for normal clothes, will be wearing stuff with a button and doing the hair bobble trick I think!

MeltingSnowflake · 26/02/2021 10:07

Omg yes @Kona84 & @jellybean13419 - SO bloated!! Had to sit at my desk with my jeans undone all day - had to keep reminding myself not to stand up when the webcam was on 🙈😆

Jl2020 · 26/02/2021 10:14

@MeltingSnowflake how strange we are all feeling nausea at 5w+2! Will all be worth it when we have our little October babies.

I don’t have sore boobs or bloating or anything else yet so it is kind of reassuring to have the nausea to know something is going on and progressing lol x

Drumstick1223 · 26/02/2021 11:17

@Ola85 well he didn't faint. He's in shock. Me too. I just can't believe it's real. I've got another test arriving today just to check it wasn't two dodgy ones lol. We are completely in shock.

I do feel nauseous, I have been feeling sicky for a few weeks now I think about it, I thought I was just going off my coffee. I can't believe I didn't spot the signs.
Definitely with the heightened sense of smell too. Everything stinks to me.

The bloat... omg. I was trying to lose weight, gone off all crisps and sweet treats and still feeling mega bloated.

Yep signs were all there eh? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think I'm around 8w5d if my dates are correct. LMP was 26/12/20 but I don't know how long my cycle would be cos it was my first period since being pregnant and breastfeeding my daughter. So could be a few days off.

I guess I should register with the midwife? Just still in shock here. Such a lovely, nice, welcome shock but my god lol. We ttc for a year with my daughter so I never thought it would just happen without trying.

Ola85 · 26/02/2021 12:22

@Drumstick1223 no wonder you're both in shock but a positive one 😍 will you test today or tomorrow morning?
I have tested three times so far 😏 I will truly believe it when I see the baby on the screen ...

I don't feel nauseous at all but my boobs are sore and grew a size overnight 🤨 And lots of period cramps still although milder

pixiedust21 · 26/02/2021 12:39

So after I popped into my GP surgery last week to fill in a referral form for midwife, she just called to book my first appointment which will be 2 weeks today (by then I should be approx 9 and a half weeks).

Eeek!! I've been surprisingly chill and calm so far but having that conversation just freaked me out, haha. I still feel it's so surreal and in my head I was like "it feels so weird having this conversation!!"

She explained that the majority of the booking in will be over the phone in the morning and take about 45 mins. Then I pop into the surgery quickly in the afternoon to get bloods done.

Quite nervous about this, used to have terrible health anxiety so at the back of my mind I feel like "what if something is wrong with me and I don't know" Blush also a bit worried about my weight/BMI although I've actually lost about 8 pounds recently just from eating well and walking so I'm trying as best I can.

Just suddenly quite nervous I think!!

MeltingSnowflake · 26/02/2021 12:56

@pixiedust21 eek that’s exciting!! I do understand the nerves though - I just booked my early scan for 7+4 and it feels like sh*t just got real!

Congrats on your weight loss - and for overcoming the health anxiety! I’m sure the appointment will all go smoothly but I know I can’t tell you not to worry because we’re all worrying at this stage! 🙈😁

I’m trying to do lots of pregnancy meditation and it does help me feel less tense

OnceUponAThread · 26/02/2021 13:09

Still no nausea here. I kind of wish there was as it would reassure me that things are progressing. Only 3 days till early scan so hopefully I'll know more then.

My boobs are ENORMOUS (for me, not by general standards) tho and I've definitely got the smell thing so I guess that's some symptoms.

MsK89 · 26/02/2021 13:10

Afternoon ladies

I am 5+2 today, seems there is a few of you the same on here too! I ovulated really late this month though.
It’s my first pregnancy since a missed miscarriage last year and safe to say I am SCARED! had a doctors appointment this morning for bloods to check my HcG level as I have had some spotting, and will be referred to EPU end of next week hopefully. Just praying this little embryo sticks 🤞🏼

Ola85 · 26/02/2021 13:14

It's such a shame we stress so much, isn't it? I wish I could just celebrate!

@MsK89 I'm 5 weeks 4 days but also ovulated quite late I think. Can't wait to see what my EDD will be.

pixiedust21 · 26/02/2021 13:15

@MeltingSnowflake thank you - yes I think it's that feeling of OMG things are happening now! I guess this time is really just preparing us for a lifetime of worry ahead so Grin

Meditation is a good shout, I've been able to come off my anxiety medication but really want to make sure I stay as calm and un-stressed as possible with my history so I will look into that.

When is your early scan? How many weeks are you now?

Feel there's a risk I will stay in a state of semi shock right up until the baby is born 😂 I'm sure after first appointments and scans it will start to feel a lot more real and hopefully in a good way! :)

MsK89 · 26/02/2021 13:58

Hey @Ola85 that’s interesting to know you also ovulated later. Wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy x

MeltingSnowflake · 26/02/2021 14:08

@pixiedust21 weird coincidence - I just got my booking appointment through the post! 18th March - eek!

I’m 5+2 now and booked my early scan for 7+4 - it seems soooo long to wait 🙈😁

Re: meditation - the insight timer app is free and pretty good. I just searched ‘pregnancy’ on the app and loads of different ones came up 👍🏻
