So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

@Jl2020 sorry to hear about your loss. I know what you mean, I had a mmc Dec 2019 and the line got fainter which was a red flag for me, but I know what you mean. ❤️

Drumstick1223 · 25/02/2021 17:53

@Jl2020 thank you and all the very best in your pregnancy too ❤️

Jl2020 · 25/02/2021 18:07

@Drumstick1223 thankyou ❤️ And yes I guess everyone is different and no pregnancy is the same all we can do is stay positive :) x

Hi all,
Thought I would join too, if that's OK. Currently 5 weeks pregnant and due late October. I already have a 14mo and that pregnancy was fairly textbook. Got pregnant again Oct 2020 (we wanted the kids fairly close in age) but unfortunately had a miscarriage at Christmas. Didn't expect to be pregnant again so soon. Keeping everything crossed this time.trying to weigh up the pros and cons of going for an early scan... Can't work out if it will make me more or less nervous and trying to work out the best time to do it! Good luck to everyone, I saw there was a few in a similar situation and for everyone I think the first weeks are the most nerve wracking.

Jl2020 · 25/02/2021 18:54

Hi @Raggeo, sorry to hear of your previous loss and congratulations on your pregnancy! I’m also in the same predicament about whether to go foran early scan. I didn’t last time and I think that helped me slightly with my mmc as I had not already seen a heartbeat or anything, I think I would have felt much worse if I had gone for an early scan and everything was fine. You just have to do whatever feels right for you xx

poodlepip · 25/02/2021 19:25

So sad to hear about so many miscarriages in the past, I was surprised to read that about half are "missed". So totally understandable that plenty of us thinking about early scans as at 8 weeks seeing a heartbeat is only about 1% miscarriage rate after.

Saying that I had a super early scan this week due to pain and they saw a heartbeat and it is more like 10% at 6 weeks but I am still convinced it won't progress

Trying to keep busy and distracted. Anyone else noticed they just want to eat plain dry food??

33Carr · 25/02/2021 20:02

@poodlepip Dry food, salty food, sweet food, ALL THE FOOD 😂

Raggeo · 25/02/2021 20:28

@jl2020 Thank you. After having a MC/MMC it's hard to just go with the flow. But I'm also more aware of trying to enjoy the experience since it feels more precious somehow. I'm thinking of maybe an 8 week scan, but keep almost booking it and then never following through.

@poodlepip Fingers crossed for you. At the moment I'm very hungry and been eating huge portions but I think soon I will be onto salty and dry foods, if my 1st pregnancy is anything to go by. Always prefer sweet foods but when pregnant I want to eat all the crisps!

OnceUponAThread · 25/02/2021 21:40

Starting to feel really quite panicky and anxious so I'm glad I've got my early scan in for Monday.

No real reason for me to feel so nervous. But at least on Monday I can rule out an ectopic and hopefully there will be a heartbeat, which will be such a relief.

Kona84 · 25/02/2021 21:55

@Drumstick1223 that is so funny.
Funnier that at least 10 other people didn’t spot it either.

Maybe you read the negative test wrong too.

Kona84 · 25/02/2021 22:01

I’m 6+2 today. Boobs lightly sore but other than that feeling fine.
I’m not going to book an early scan- I’m going to speak to my midwife at my booking appointment and mention my anxiety since my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage and hope that they offer a early scan.

I am however putting money aside for a 3D scan, I’m praying the baby doesn’t get my forehead Smile

pixiedust21 · 25/02/2021 22:06

Is anyone else getting cramps? I generally feel ok, boobs sore/tender, but in the evenings I am peeing loads and getting cramps like period pain across the whole stomach. Always seems to be at night!

Ola85 · 25/02/2021 22:24

@pixiedust21 I've had cramps from the day I found out I'm pregnant. The first 3-4 days had them all day long. Now they come and go in waves, milder and across the tummy. I don't worry too much about them, everywhere it says they are the sign of uterus stretching etc. Unless very painful I really think it's a good sign.

Have any of you had sex since finding out? Sorry for the direct question but I'd love to do some boogie but am scared something bad will happen afterwards. 🤷‍♀️😇

Drumstick1223 · 25/02/2021 22:29

@Kona84 that's true!! Thank goodness for the person who spotted it and I've now learned a new term, dye stealer lol.

Oh god yeah, maybe I read the other test wrong haha, I'd like to think I would know that though as there was definitely only one line. I think... I think I've got baby brain much earlier this time round... I still can't believe it!!

MeltingSnowflake · 25/02/2021 22:38

@pixiedust21 I cramped for about a week but they went a few days ago and now I miss them! I found them quite comforting, a sign that my body was changing and the little bean was still in there - I know it can be ‘normal’ but I definitely preferred having them! Do yours keep you awake?

Kona84 · 25/02/2021 23:06

@pixiedust21
I have had cramps on and off.
And last week I think I woke up to my pelvis rotating or twisting it was quite painful but I still can’t tell if I was dreaming. If it was real it wasn’t alarming enough to keep me awake.

My cramps have settled down now

pixiedust21 · 25/02/2021 23:07

@Ola85 @MeltingSnowflake ahh thanks ladies, yes apparently it can be very normal so fingers crossed. I know what you mean @MeltingSnowflake about it at least being a sign something is happening! Have you had any sickness?

I think from tv/media i believe sickness to be the one true pregnancy symptom and because I actually generally feel fine I still keep thinking.... am I really pregnant?? Lol.

And yes @Ola85 I have had sex since becoming pregnant Blush I never thought I'd find it an issue but I genuinely did feel a bit wary, in case it did something harmful. But it's been fine. And everything I've read said it's not a problem but I do understand the wariness!!

pixiedust21 · 25/02/2021 23:08

Sorry for weird bold text. @MeltingSnowflake no my cramps don't keep me awake really but I usually can still feel them in bed. Then completely fine during the day. Kind of wonder why it's just at night. Bodies are weird and wonderful!

MeltingSnowflake · 25/02/2021 23:14

@Ola85 I had sex ystdy - I was quite worried about doing it but all was well 😁 and it is a good way to relax!

@pixiedust21 I had a wave of nausea two days ago but nothing since 🤷🏻‍♀️ I agree, I often wonder whether I can really be pregnant! I kind of want the sickness, but I know as soon as it comes I’ll be wishing I’d never said that 😁

Ola85 · 25/02/2021 23:31

Ok, maybe I shouldn't worry then and "relax" 🍆😂

I'm waiting for my nausea, too! Idiot 🤣

Ola85 · 25/02/2021 23:32

@Drumstick1223 let us know in the morning if your husband fainted when you told him 😁

pixiedust21 · 25/02/2021 23:56

@Ola85 @MeltingSnowflake looking forward to us all whinging about how sick we feel if it suddenly hits us soon, and wishing we were back at this point! Grin

cooper96 · 26/02/2021 07:59

Sickness is definitely a thing 🤢 I haven't been sick yet but for the past 3 mornings I've been heaving with nausea but haven't managed to be sick yet. I kind of wish I could be sick to get rid of the nausea. When I registered the pregnancy with my GP he told me to contact if I got sickness but I'm trying to hold out hoping it goes but I think in reality it's only going to get worse!

Garman · 26/02/2021 08:09

@cooper96 just to warn you often vomiting doesn't get rid of the nauseous feeling because it's hormonal not something you ate etc like "normal" non pregnancy nausea. I know a lot of people end up disappointed to discover they're still nauseous after being sick!

33Carr · 26/02/2021 08:37

@cooper96 Sorry to hear you're not doing too great with the nausea, hopefully it will pass soon!
