So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

@DisneyLover24 if all is well I will definitely post a picture. Half excited, half terrified. 😬

OnceUponAThread · 24/02/2021 21:37

@woooooohhhhhh gosh £48 is so reasonable. It's much much more expensive where I am. BlushBlushBlushAngryAngryAngry

Garman · 24/02/2021 21:38

Private scans are €100 here, epu offered me an early scan "next time" after the mmc but I don't think I'll go for one until 8/9 weeks if even.

Upupupintheair · 24/02/2021 21:45

I think I’ll book in for a private scan around the 7-8 week mark as we’ll just for peace of mind!

I’m going to call the gp tomorrow I think for some advice, I literally had the copper coil out 2 weeks today (and had my BFP today) snd i know the coil can increase your chance of having an ectopic pregnancy. So I just want to play it safe and ask for their advice - probably overkill but nervous First timer here!!!

Also have you told anyone yet? I’m desperate to tell someone but my other half wants to keep it under wraps until the 12 week mark.

2021WillBeGreat · 24/02/2021 21:50

@woooooohhhhhh that's so reasonable, ours are at least £80!

33Carr · 24/02/2021 21:52

@2021WillBeGreat Yeah the one I've booked in £79 🙃🙃 but it's a 10 walk from our house so can't be bothered trying to find somewhere else 😂

Kittysw · 24/02/2021 23:15

Mine is only costing £50 for early scan so 100% worth it in my mind. My partner thinks I'm mad for not just waiting but he isn't the most empathetic really so can't understand my worry.

Ola85 · 25/02/2021 07:44

I'm paying £50 for mine. My husband actually wants us to go - I can tell he still doesn't quite believe I'm pregnant lol I think he needs the reassurance as much as I do.

I had a terrible night. Went to sleep with headache, determined not to take any medication but gave up at 3am as I thought my head was going to explode 🤯 I took 2 paracetamols and the pain isn't so bad now but I'm not sure whether I'll manage to stay at work all day.

Hope you're all feeling much better than me!

DisneyLover24 · 25/02/2021 07:59

I've just looked and I think an early scan by me is £79 too. Has anyone been having the most vivid strange dreams? 🤔

Stace1405 · 25/02/2021 08:42

Hey

So I got my positive yesterday such a faint line but got it on 2 clear blues and 2 cheap tests.

My calculations make my due date 30th October but I suffer from GD so get induced 2 weeks early. Xxx

Mumnttc · 25/02/2021 09:55

@stace1405 I also suffered with GD last pregnancy so will more than likely be induced early! Last time I was due to be induced at 39 weeks but luckily I went into labour naturally!

pixiedust21 · 25/02/2021 12:33

@DisneyLover24 yes to the strange and vivid dreams!! It's one of my main "symptoms" right now other than occasional cramping which seems to just happen in the evenings.

Weird!!

Upupupintheair · 25/02/2021 15:09

So I spoke to my GP today and because of it only being 2 weeks since my copper coil was removed and there is a risk of ectopic pregnancy. They’ve referred me to EPU who contacted me to book me in for a scan a week today (next Thursday).

I’ll be 5+4 then, so not expecting to see a lot but it would be good to be reassured it’s not ectopic as I’m overanalysing every twinge at the moment...

Argh who else needs to step away from Dr Google?!

Ola85 · 25/02/2021 15:31

@Upupupintheair that's great that they are talking things seriously and will check everything is good with you and the baby. Let us know how is goes x

I've been trying to stop reading horror stories and check every symptom on google. Instead I was looking for a small cosy footmuff for a pram which I don't have 😅 it's mad but if I'm browsing internet for everything baby related I try and browse positive things.
19 days until my early scan!

Ronnii · 25/02/2021 15:47

Thought I might join. I'm 5+3 due Oct 25th. I decided I wanted an early scan for March 12th when I would be 7+4 as I don't want internal but they haven't answered the phone all week. Now I'm chickening out and wondering if I can make it to 12 weeks.

It's my first BFP after long TTC. I was so excited but now more nervous

Ronnii · 25/02/2021 15:53

I told both my sisters and my bf pretty much straight away. One sister told before my dp cos he was still sleeping lol.

Symptoms are sore boobs and the odd stretch feeling in the tummy.

Jl2020 · 25/02/2021 16:32

Hi ladies,

Hope you don’t mind me jumping on! Congratulations on all your BFP’s. I finally got mine this morning after getting negatives for a week since my missed period. This is my second pregnancy but unfortunately last year my first pregnancy resulted in MMC. Trying not let anxiety and worry get the better of me but it’s so hard to stay positive after going through such an awful experience. Looks like my due date will be around 27th October xx

jellybean13419 · 25/02/2021 16:40

Congratulations to the new BFPS 💕 sorry to those that have suffered previous losses.
I had my booking appointment and blood tests today. All good!
And I am definitely with the group that is turning themselves to Dr Google for everything! That is a good idea though to instead turn to google for things that make you happy 😊

Drumstick1223 · 25/02/2021 17:12

Hi all, hope you don't mind me jumping in. According to my LMP (26 Dec) I'm due 2nd October. I realise I'm late to the party but I just thought my cycle was totally out of whack, had my baby girl Jan 2020 and no period till 26 Dec 2020. And negative pregnancy test after a couple of days late so thought nothing of it till it still hadn't come 33 days later.

See my hilarious "can't read a pregnancy test" facepalm moment for a laugh

Faint line, very late...? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4176582-faint-line-very-late

Hope everyone is doing well. Very happy and shocked to be here!

jellybean13419 · 25/02/2021 17:25

Hi @Drumstick1223 congrats on your BFP!
Sorry it's been a confusing one though. If it's any consolation, I had 2 negative tests at 1 day late and 3 days late for my period. Didn't bother testing again until CD 35 when it still hadn't shown, that's when I got a positive! Period was at least a week late. So I guess possible the first one you took was just that bit too early! I'm due 1st October so you're about the same as me :) how have you been feeling? X

Ola85 · 25/02/2021 17:36

@Drumstick1223 welcome to the house! This is so funny how you read the test haha 😆 brilliant! This is what stress does to us! When will you tell your husband? I cried so much when I was telling mine he had to guess what happened as I was sobbing 😭 haha I knew he would be thrilled but still was soooo nervous 😬

Drumstick1223 · 25/02/2021 17:37

Hi @jellybean13419 thank you and congrats to you too. Yeah I wonder if the first test was just a bit early and then the faint line/misread really confused me lol.

I'm ok but the past week or two. I have been feeling exceptionally tired and a bit sick feeling, only when I'm late to eat at meal times. Which was same as first pregnancy so I guess I wondered and that's why I done the test today.

Still in shock.

How have you been keeping?

Drumstick1223 · 25/02/2021 17:39

@Ola85 , thank you! Honestly no idea what I was thinking 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

I'll tell him tonight. He finishes at 7, and hopefully if my girl goes down quick I'll tell him. He'll be in total shock cos he keeps asking if my my period has been and if I could be pregnant and we barely dtd so I kept saying no, it's my daft hormones, period started after a year of breastfeeding then nothing, I was thinking today I'll need to call the doctors as that's a month over, something not right... haha

How are you keeping?

That's so sweet about your husband, how did he react? X

Drumstick1223 · 25/02/2021 17:42

Has anyone got kids who are still in their cot? My girl is 1yr and in her cot (for the first part of the night anyway).

I'm a short ass and a bit overweight... so when I'm lying her down my tummy is right into the railing of the cot, quite hard. I don't know what else I can do other than through her in? 🙈🤣

Any ideas?

Jl2020 · 25/02/2021 17:48

@jellybean13419 great news about the blood tests and booking appointment :)

@Drumstick1223 congratulations! And just looked at your other post about the line being very faint, I had an mmc last year and even 3 weeks after the heartbeat had stopped I had a very strong line on pregnancy test so I don’t think that’s anything to judge it by. I wish you all the best in your pregnancy x
