I am going to get sent to Coventry soon otherwise, I think

I have questions

does anyone know of, or have, a good vegetarian / vegan pregnancy nutrition book?

If I buy a new bra now will it cease to fit me in about a week?

Will I look vastly pregnant by Christmas? (I don't want my family to spot it)

pleeeeeeeeeeeeease come and indulge me

QPQ that is very useful:

"If you don't want to take a chance on coloring your whole head of hair, you may want to consider adding highlights - a great way of accenting your color and bringing light to the face, not to mention a little pregnancy glow! Because this process involves applying the chemicals one-half to one-inch from your roots, they don't ever touch your scalp. So, they can't get into your blood stream - which is safe for you and baby. You can also easily allow 8 weeks or more between appointments - minimizing salon exposure. "

i think I am going to do it - it will help me feel a lot less frumpy and I think it seems safe

feel free to come and tell me different though, I am not only listening to opinions telling me it is ok to go ahead

As I said below I didn't do it at all while pg (and I've been blonding my hair up since I was 17)

My delightful MIL telephoned dh when she heard of the pg and told him that I mustn't dye my hair whilst pg, adding "You do know she dyes her hair don't you"

RoyKinnear · 02/11/2007 09:36

omg cammelia

FrannyandZooey · 02/11/2007 09:51

so people who aren't / wouldn't have foil highlights while pg, are you basing this on anything that you could direct me to, or is is just a kind of feeling that it might not be a good idea?

My (ex hairdresser) mate did my hair while I was pg... she came to my house and put one of those oh-so-attractive skull caps on my head and did highlights that way - no chance of anything getting on my scalp. It hurt though, she kept stabbing my head with the crochet hook thingy.

FrannyandZooey · 02/11/2007 10:30

ooh
nasty

My friend who was a hairdresser and also taught hairdressing did mine while I was pregnant, and did his wife's aswell.

scorpio1 · 02/11/2007 18:31

Franny, i am having mine done tomorrow-originally i wanted a dye but they said no(good salon), they dont do it in pregnancy (im 17 weeks), not even semi-permanent. they said highlights are perfectly safe because nothing touches your scalp, and therefore your bloodstream.

So, highlighting it is!

FrannyandZooey · 02/11/2007 23:09

ok

am still thinking

it sounds good though

thanks all

So this is where you've been lurking Franny. You can get natural hair dye thingummies. Dr. Hadwen's Trust do some, I'm pretty sure. I'll look for a link.

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 10:18

here

FrannyandZooey · 03/11/2007 10:21

Oh thanks Toot, great site

I want bleach though, I don't think a colour is going to do it, I need something to lighten it also

FrannyandZooey · 03/11/2007 10:33

harpsichordsgoingbangandwoosh · 03/11/2007 10:33

yes please

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 10:35

Oh.

Lemon juice and sunlight?

harpsichordsgoingbangandwoosh · 03/11/2007 10:37

Domestos

FrannyandZooey · 03/11/2007 10:45

K'nex thing you will know better than me if this is a good set, as you have seen them play with it

Har de har on domestos

TooT the thing is, nobody seems to be able to find me anything which says that lightening foils can cause any harm at all

in the absence of the least bit of evidence I am going to go and do it, I think

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 03/11/2007 11:30

Just to say, my ds *adored8 that k'nex set when he was 4 and even though we now have lots of 'grown-up' k'nex now, both boys still love it.

fullmoonfiend · 03/11/2007 11:32

I was a (fake) red head throughout my first pregnancy. Figured henna was 'natural'. Took years to get back to vaguely blonde though

pinkspottywellies · 04/11/2007 21:23

Can I hijack this thread with scrabble talk? You kicked my ass Franny! Just finished our game. I was quite pleased with 'uterine' in one of my facebook games though

scorpio1 · 05/11/2007 18:51

Franny did you do your hair? mine went well they put all my hair in foils, so now i am a dark chocolate brown with red [also dark] bits in. Gone from blonde [look much better now!] And no harm to baby whatsoever.
