I am going to get sent to Coventry soon otherwise, I think

I have questions

does anyone know of, or have, a good vegetarian / vegan pregnancy nutrition book?

If I buy a new bra now will it cease to fit me in about a week?

Will I look vastly pregnant by Christmas? (I don't want my family to spot it)

pleeeeeeeeeeeeease come and indulge me

Can I hijack and ask a food-rfelated question? not vegan, sorry, Frannie.

Lots of lovely pasteurised soft cheese in the shops. Is that still off limits?

MegaLegs · 30/10/2007 20:04

Oh Franny it is so exciting and I was briefly mildly broody just then.

I think you make a GP appointment and then they arrange the booking appointment with the mw. (IIRC - it's been over two years since I was last PG - unheard of in this house)

TaLcsFromTheCrypt · 30/10/2007 20:05

LOL...GP might be a start

TheDucHearseOfCorpseBride · 30/10/2007 20:06

"what do I do now, btw? Do I tell someone I am pg? When do I get appointments and things?"

Have you forgotten woman! Go and see your GP first. He/She will tell you how pregnant you are because they don't think women understand how it works. Then they'll either get the midwife to contact you or give you the number to call her directly and arrange a booking-in appointment. My booking-in is next week, so I'll be just over 11wks.

Your midwife will probably organise your scan. For Christmas Eve no doubt.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 20:11

yes I have forgotten! It was over 5 years ago since I did this bit

Megalegs that was lovely news about R + P. I think you personally deserve a rest before producing another one, don't you?

Upsidedown sorry i don't quite know the answer but I believe that in France women all eat any cheese they want

Oh congrats Duchess and all others with bun in oven

Oh yes, the GP will get that little wheel thing out and work out your due date, apart from DS1 the EDDs that I worked out for my other three were always closer than the GP's estimate. (HA!)

Then they do that annoying thing at the scan where they say "how many weeks did you think you were?" and you say 13 and they say "oh we think you are only 9".

MegaLegs · 30/10/2007 20:23

Both of P's sisters are pg too, I think that's really sweet. Wish my two sisters would get a move on then I could have another to keep them company.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 20:24

oh god I have so many questions but I think I am being an arse assuming I will be pregnant next week let along by Christmas

is it ok to be really excited about this and making lots of plans or it is foolhardy?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 20:25

Dp's sister is also pregnant which is great (for the obvious reasons but also) because it will take the heat off us a little bit

I am not sure if I knew P's sisters did I? Were they older or younger?

SkullabileoOOH · 30/10/2007 20:46

OP posts:
MegaLegs · 30/10/2007 21:03

P's sisters were younger, probably a year below you and L and then two years below that.

MegaLegs · 30/10/2007 21:05

Not foolhardy to make plans, 'tis natural and a good sign methinks.

MegaLegs · 30/10/2007 21:06

I am so excited for you by the way (you don't say, you are the one that is meant to be wittering!!) and I am happy to listen to your every last witter!

welliemum · 30/10/2007 21:07

Just caught up with this Franny - wonderful news!

Am devout carnivore so no help on the food I'm afraid.

I think your going away plan is the best bet really. Unless you think you can get away with a sparkly kaftan....

Hallgerda · 30/10/2007 21:07

Congratulations

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 30/10/2007 21:08

Tesco sports bra- ideal for early PG (just growing out of mine now at 18.5 weeks and I'm not overly endowed), a fiver- no underwiring etc yet supportive. Buy one, wash to death, bin when outgrown.

Congrats Franny. My sister is a preggy veggie, her last baby was 8.5 pounds and is on the now on the height 80th centile; it shouldn't be an issue, you know your nutrition well enough.

SkullabileoOOH · 30/10/2007 21:08

good good

Skyler · 30/10/2007 21:14

Wowee, you and Expat. Congratulations Franny! .

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 21:16

no I want UNDERWIRE

and nutritional boxes to tick

[demanding emoticon]

Megalegs you are very kind! I may even have exhausted your store of excitement after about a week or so

OP posts:
PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 30/10/2007 21:18

You are NOT ALLOWED underwiring

well you're not supposed to anyway. As you know.

ACn your GP refer to a nutritionist as an emergency? Mine did with ds1 (cant do dairy), helped a lot

morningpaper · 30/10/2007 21:18

Ha at 10 weeks with number 2 STRANGERS noticed I was pregnant

tummy muscles gave EVERYTHING away

booo

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 21:20

nononono I am sure you can have underwiring if it fits properly

i need it, god do I need it

Oh MP oh bloody hell. I REALLY don't want ds to know yet and I can't have people in RL knowing because they will make Sly Asides and ds will Catch On.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 21:22

see I SHALL have underwire

OP posts:
morningpaper · 30/10/2007 21:24

Buy lots of those ugly smock tops and try out the Fat Look

It is very difficult

Marks and Spencers won't even SELL you an underwired bra if you are pregnant or bfing
