I am going to get sent to Coventry soon otherwise, I think

I have questions

does anyone know of, or have, a good vegetarian / vegan pregnancy nutrition book?

If I buy a new bra now will it cease to fit me in about a week?

Will I look vastly pregnant by Christmas? (I don't want my family to spot it)

pleeeeeeeeeeeeease come and indulge me

Beenleigh · 31/10/2007 00:56

Huge congratulations, it's just fab news. My favourite book for pregnancy is patrick holford, before, during and after pregnancy, It's not specifically vegetarian, but it's very vegetarian friendly. Just had a scan and this is what it recommends as sources of iron, just to give you an idea of its vege credentials: pumpkin seeds, parsley, almonds, dried prunes, cashews, raisins, brazil nuts, walnuts, dates, pork, cooked dried beans, sesame seeds, pecans.

Beenleigh · 31/10/2007 00:57

oops, name of book is 'optimum nutrition, before, during and after pregnancy'

slim22 · 31/10/2007 01:33

lovely thread, many congratulations!

I'm still wearing underwired at 12 weeks. I just went 1 size up and that perfectly OK if they are well fitted. I wear sports bra to sleep though.

I can still wear my jeans and a loose tops and nobody would know. However, somedays when digestion sluggish I could be 5 mths pg!!!!

sorry no recipe book. suggestion: look for greek/lebanese vegie recipes. Lots and lots of veggie options with herbs and veg and grains/pulses and various nuts (yummy nutty deserts too)

Are you totally vegan as in no dairy?? make sure you take calcium supplements.
How about oily fish and omegas intake?

take care

FrannyandZooey · 31/10/2007 07:40

Oh beautifuldays yes please, could I borrow it? Will pay postage etc

MP I missed it your photos page looks rather odd now and it has a thread with my name on and I don't understand

Mega I will put it up some time when you are around

Roy it wasn't me who was claiming penisphobia

Kiski oh that is YOU is it? I saw you on the ebf thread and kept wondering who you were

Slim I do eat some dairy but prefer to concentrate on vegan food. I have some fab supplements so am not worried about calcium etc

Beenleigh I have the baby and toddler version of that book and really like it. It sounds just up my street.

Thanks everybody
