@AIRRRR we wish we could afford one, Portugal is insanely expensive in comparison to Spain or France or Italy (less stock I suppose given the size of the country). His mum has a place in the north, we are constantly looking at places to buy in the south west but waiting for a crash 😂

Sitchervice · 02/03/2021 22:32

@Nesski oh wow! Hopefully it goes back to normal again!

I'm annoyed because my contact lenses basically don't work any more 🙄 I havent been able to drive either not that there's anywhere to go at the moment 😑

AlRRRR · 02/03/2021 22:38

@Nesski Yes we defo don’t own it 🤣🤣🤣😂😂 The parents do but it’s a free for all, as they love people staying in it as they live in Macau.

Nesski · 02/03/2021 22:39

@Sitchervice I actually read it up online to make sure it isn't an issue, apparently your eyeball changes shape during pregnancy so your contacts don't fit anymore!

AlRRRR · 02/03/2021 22:43

Your eyes can defo suffer! I wear glasses but can usually have some
glasses free time in the day, but when pregnant (number 2) I need to wear during all awake time :)

Waitingforbabypage · 03/03/2021 09:54

My contacts don't stick either due to slight dry eyes. Luckily I'm alright with my glasses all the time.

I'm super dizzy today. To the point where I almost fell off the loo.

Fishingforhappiness · 03/03/2021 12:51

I'm so blind. I'm struggling to establish if it's worsened! Does anyone just have a mad morning every now and again and go... whoops. We moved 2 weeks ago. Before then I wasn't buying much. But have been stressed about everything in life! I work on a NICU and have had 3 24/25weekers born in the last week. Its stressed me out about not being ready. So all nursery furniture, crib, pushchair, car seat, baby bath, baby grows, muslins, nappies and wet wipes all bought this morning in a panic. Just had a call from my husband... Barclays had called him as I spent so much on the joint account in 2 hours. Blush. I'm very aware they if she's born now, she will be in NICU and I won't need them for a very long time... I think i've lost it. Tell me I'm not alone?

AlRRRR · 03/03/2021 13:27

@Fishingforhappiness I can’t say I’ve bought yet but then again I have reusable nappies, and pushchair from my 1st child 4 years ago, but can totally see why you’d be feeling this way when you work in a NICU exposed to all those babies born early!

Lovethatjourneyforme · 03/03/2021 13:59

@Sitchervice I've been extremely gassy for most of pregnancy 😂 it's actually extremely annoying. Try taking rennies if you're not already. They're currently my best friend.

theworks · 03/03/2021 14:07

@Fishingforhappiness I know what you mean. My daughter was born premature and we were not ready. I had a hospital bag thank goodness as I am a planner and feel anxious if I'm not organised. This time round I am even more aware that we could have another premature baby. I really really hope not... at the moment we're just starting to redecorate 3 rooms and there is furniture and stuff everywhere! Combine that with home schooling and working from home full time I am lucky if I get the basics like cleaning done weekly.

My plan is to have everything organised and ready to go by beginning of April as the house should be back to normal by then and I'll have some head space to do it. That'll be around 28 weeks I think so I don't think that's too neurotic of me to have it ready to go at the start of the third trimester 😊

Sitchervice · 03/03/2021 14:59

@Lovethatjourneyforme im taking omoprazol 🤣 I'm so paranoid that people can hear me down the phone though 😭

Nesski · 03/03/2021 15:29

@Fishingforhappiness trust me the thought of a premature baby has crossed my mind a couple of times, we have nothing but think we will manage last minute should we need, our NCT course isn't until next month so I've had my head in the sand until April 12 when I can go to a shop! If it helps at all, my husband saw the amount of money I spent on pick n mix in the space of 10 minutes from Etsy (several suppliers) and almost had a heart attack, at least your purchases are adding value as opposed to 15 minutes of sugar high (but he gets a very happy pregnant woman)

PinkPlantCase · 03/03/2021 17:15

When are we meant to start getting a hospital bag ready? I’m 26 weeks and it hadn’t really crossed my mind yet!

I’ve got some vests, baby grows, the pushchair (but not the car seat we need to plug into it) and some blankets. We’ve decorated the nursery walls but I haven’t got the cot in there yet as we need to pick it up from my parents.

Also have an entertaining situation with the Moses basket which we’re being given by family, but they live a long way and are apprehensive to post it. But we don’t really know when we’ll be able to see them! I’ve said I want it in our house from the start of May just incase!

Sitchervice · 03/03/2021 19:13

@PinkPlantCase ill probably get mine ready at 34 weeks. My friend who recently had a boy said that you will probably need all the clothes 🤣 though they say on most sites 6 of everything.

I don't have a nursery, we are moving once babe is born.

sundowners · 04/03/2021 14:57

Ladies can I ask how much weight you've put on so far?
I am 26 weeks and have put on 10 kilos (5"7 /normally 62 Kilos or around 9 Stone 10) just feel massive... trying to cut back on food/snacks but I think about food constantly!!!

AlRRRR · 04/03/2021 15:21

I’m 24 weeks, usually weigh 82 kg, and I’m 174 cm, I’m now around 84 kg i think ish :) I’ve never been a snacker, but the past week I’ve been having fruit and nuts if really starving between meals :) I’m not sure if there is any normal or suppose weight gain and all depends on baby too x

sundowners · 04/03/2021 15:24

They say if you didn't have a high BMI to start with on average you should look to gain around 10kg - entire pregnancy x

Scarftown · 04/03/2021 15:35

@sundowners. I am similar to you. I am 5’6 was 70kg and I am now between 78kg and 80kg depending on the day as it really does fluctuate. I feel like my bump is huge but I haven’t put much weight on apart from my middle. I’m 25 weeks and the midwife told me that was a healthy weight and to not worry too much. So I am trying not to.

Sitchervice · 04/03/2021 15:39

I'm not even looking at how much I've put on.

sundowners · 04/03/2021 15:43

Thanks Scarftown! Very reassuring. I need to go easier on myself I think...

AlRRRR · 04/03/2021 16:45

@sundowners Ah okay! I hadn’t even realised that, as I’m yet to see the midwife for the 26 weeks app and nobody has weighed me! In my 1st, I gained only the baby’s actual weight as I was so sick all pregnancy! This one, only felt sick week 6-14, but was only sick a few times!

MimiDaisy11 · 04/03/2021 16:54

When are we meant to start getting a hospital bag ready?
I've started to put mine together. I've got miniature shampoo, shower gel etc and some nighties for nursing. Though I stupidly bought some snacks for it and they're all gone lol. I'll wait until nearer the time for those.

how much weight you've put on so far?
I've put on over 5kg.

Edelweiss2020 · 04/03/2021 17:25

I've got baby's hospital bag stuff done, started gathering bits for my bag but nowhere near done yet.
Very bored atm and have a lot of spare time so have made lots and lots of lists and been buying bits and bobs if they're cheap. It's making me feel more prepared anyway haha

DollyParton2 · 04/03/2021 17:33

Ive got my jumbo sized sanitary towels - several packs - packed/ at home as remember always running so low and often a standard smaller Boots/ chemist nearby don’t always stock them. Same thing with newborn sized nappies.
Although my daughter (4) yesterday got hold of my hospital bag to use for her toys, looked inside & she’d added all her Barbies to my random mix of nappies, pads & baby wipes Smile glad I spotted that now not at hospital.

DollyParton2 · 04/03/2021 17:33

Have also put on about 10kgs!
