@TerryRose nope! Trimester 2 is full of food and hunger for me 🙈

Sitchervice · 28/02/2021 08:47

@TerryRose not so much lack of appetite, I just can't eat as much. I get full to quickly 😕

Edelweiss2020 · 28/02/2021 10:25

Mine changes every day, some days I'm super hungry and others I have no appetite at all and struggle to eat much. Also found I do get full faster overall too. The food for me has probably been one of the toughest bits for pregnancy so far as I have an eating disorder.

Trying to focus on the fact that if my body is telling me it needs food then it needs food so the baby can grow.

Little one also seems to be most active after I've eaten so that also encourages me to get food in.

Nesski · 28/02/2021 22:26

@TerryRose very hungry but indigestion makes me feel awful so puts me off eating.

On another note, need some advice from you ladies especially those with children already. My sister wants me to organise her hen do for September, just wondering if this is too early to leave the baby over the weekend with dad, especially if we are breastfeeding?

Humpty11 · 28/02/2021 22:38

@Nesski there’s no way I would have been able to leave my son two months after he was born and I was breastfeeding him.
I’ve got a hen weekend when this little one will be 6 months (if all is well with covid) and I’m already dreading it if I’m breastfeeding again!

theworks · 28/02/2021 22:41

@Nesski so hard to know how you will feel however I'll say that first time I spent away from my daughter was when she was 8 months (was pressured into it and gave into the in laws after months of saying it wasn't right she had never been away from me). I wasn't ready at all and looking back I shouldn't have done it feeling so uncomfortable. I was still breastfeeding so that makes it harder too.

lucieloos · 28/02/2021 23:31

@Nesski I think you will find it way too early to be away from her for a weekend too especially if breastfeeding. They see it as a source of comfort as well and I know if I had left either of mine at that point they would have screamed the place down.

@TerryRose yes I'm with you on the lack of appetite or more that I still have food aversions and only fancy particular things which means quite often I don't eat a lot as cant face it.

Nesski · 01/03/2021 06:51

@Humpty11 @theworks @lucieloos yeah that's what I was thinking, I'll arrange it with the other bridesmaids with the intention of not going. Her wedding is in December which we will be going to but we will all be there alongside with family. Will probably prewarn her in a few months time once we have an idea of what is happening..

PurpleishDahlia · 01/03/2021 09:48

@AIRRRR I'm from Athens, husband can only order a carafe of red wine, that's all he's picked up in 6 years 😂 Thanks for the yogurt tip, creams are not working any more.
@Lovingthatjourneyforme surely you can be excused to skip the hen do if it's around your EDD? I will have to go to one too, date not confirmed but wedding is in August all being well. I'm thinking of contributing but not going if it's too close to my date.
I'm a bit worried about the actual wedding as the little one will be 7-9 weeks old. Will she be OK to be around so many people? When do first vaccinations happen?

theworks · 01/03/2021 09:56

@PurpleishDahlia I think that's actually quite a good time to go to a wedding as they will still be sleeping a lot and basically just need feeding and holding. First jabs are 8 weeks from memory so that's the only complication if your appointment was the day before wedding for example... my daughter was ok a few hours after her first jabs but then very upset and a lot of crying later that evening and the next day!

Could you say you are hoping to come to wedding and meal but then skip out early evening? Do bride and groom have children? Hopefully they are understanding!

PurpleishDahlia · 01/03/2021 10:36

@theworks that's encouraging. The wedding is 5 hours away from us, where my husband's family lives, but on the upside I know there will be a lot of support and aunties eager to help out. We're staying overnight but we have accommodation on the grounds which should make it easier. Of course all that's assuming weddings will go ahead as normal this summer.

AlRRRR · 01/03/2021 11:16

@PurpleishDahlia Oooo Athens is great! We took youngest there and then to an island when she was 1.

Regarding weddings, we took our daughter to one in portugal when she was 3/ 4 months old, we went to the church and then to the evening reception (loads of kids were there) children and adults are involved all the way through till the early hours.

We stayed till about 10pm, but only cause she started crying from the noise (portuguese weddings are noisy) :)

Nesski · 01/03/2021 15:34

@PurpleishDahlia I'm actually looking at those sound muffler earmuffs for the December wedding we are attending, hoping he would wear it!

Nesski · 01/03/2021 15:36

@AIRRRR I wished my partner would let us go to PT when he's 3/4 months, let alone to a wedding there! He's such a worrier!

AlRRRR · 01/03/2021 15:55

@Nesski , what do you mean let you? Is he worried about noise? x

AlRRRR · 01/03/2021 15:58

@Nesski I didn’t even think about sound earmuffs! haha And the church was so noisy and the venue at night was loads of speeches and we were next the main table (husband is portugués and they were his friends)

I took my little one everywhere from about 8 weeks, we went to portugal (where husbands family are from) and Greece (where I used to live). I even drove her alone from UK to Switzerland to go hostelling when she was 14 months cause my husband was in India and I wanted a mini trip for us 😂😂😂😂🤣😂

Lovethatjourneyforme · 01/03/2021 22:49

@PurpleishDahlia oh the June one is really local and low key, will likely get tired etc but otherwise not too worried about that one. It's the October one that's stressing me out more, it's hours away and for longer than I am comfortable with. I'm in a similar situation @Nesski got a hen weekend in October which, if I went to the whole thing, would have me away for 4 days. Would yours be anywhere nearby?

Nesski · 02/03/2021 04:48

@AIRRRR Honestly sounds like a dream, I just want to go abroad and just relax and eat loads of good food when it's still warm so October seems like a good time!

@Lovethatjourneyforme it'll be about 4 hours away and only for two nights at most, baby will be 3 months old so too young to leave alone really as partner will still be relatively new to all this as he will be back at work after two weeks, so it's really not the same in terms of knowing his way around/knowing cues with baby.

aloeha · 02/03/2021 19:00

Hello can I join please? I didn’t know there was a June thread on here, I’m due on the 17th with my 2nd DC

Nesski · 02/03/2021 19:12

Welcome @aloeha! Is all well with you? Scans and everything go well? We've got quite a good split of boys/girls due June here!

AlRRRR · 02/03/2021 20:33

@Nesski Yes by
October, baby will be good to enjoy a little hol haha! Are you from Portugal x

aloeha · 02/03/2021 21:14

Hi @Nesski everything’s brilliant thank you, I’m having a little boy, I have a daughter who’s 1 so a bit stressed about having 2 under 2 but other than that everything is well!

Sitchervice · 02/03/2021 21:23

Any one else feeling extremely gassy. Also my eyesight has gotten REALLY bad! I can't make out bricks any more across the road from me.

Nesski · 02/03/2021 21:31

@AIRRRR Husband is from Portugal! I think you mentioned before about your husband being half macanese and half Portuguese?

@Sitchervice omg the eyesight thing, I'm short sighted (-6 each eye, practically blind anyway) but I haven't been able to read the board in any coffee shop for the last month!

AlRRRR · 02/03/2021 22:15

@Nesski Yes, he is, well his mum is Portuguese and his father is from Hong Kong (but they live in Macau) haha! They’re house is in Lisbon, which is where we go, and they meet us there, think we first went when my little one was 8 weeks or so, does your husband have a house there?
