I went in for reduced movements last week just before I was 24 weeks. I thought it would be too early but I was actually told off by my midwife for not getting in touch that same day and for leaving it til the following day. They don’t expect a pattern yet but do want to see you if you feel that movements have lessened.

I’m 23 weeks tomorrow and don’t have reg movements or any i’ve noticed anyway... i have an anterior placenta, only feel sometimes throughout the day :)

PinkPlantCase · 24/02/2021 22:41

Does anyone else sit for a really long time during the day?

In a typical day I spend at least 10 hours in my office chair and my bum muscles are starting to get really sore! I am making an effort to stand up and walk around more, work are also looking a re-distributing some of my project load so my working hours won’t be as long.

Thinking of getting a fancy cushion or might try sitting on a pillow or something. Wondered if anyone else was feeling anything similar.

Lovethatjourneyforme · 25/02/2021 07:33

Thanks for all the replies, and @swiftt - that makes me feel less like I'm just being dramatic! Presuming all was fine wheyou went in?

Baby actually moved a far bit after I posted, they just seem to change their routine every couple of days. Makes it very difficult to know when to worry and when not to!

swiftt · 25/02/2021 09:52

@Lovethatjourneyforme yeah, all was fine! That’s why I had put off phoning in the first place, I thought they’d tell me to stop being daft and that it was too early for them to check out reduced movements, but they were completely the opposite. Said to phone as soon as I noticed any reduction, never wait til the next day etc. Think they’d rather see you 100 times and all be okay than not see you the one time it’s not.

@PinkPlantCase me! But it's my lower back, I switch between sitting upright and then at a tilt on the sofa. Really helps!

northerngal20 · 25/02/2021 14:58

@PinkPlantCase yes i sit all day for work too! i recently switched to sitting on a birthing ball instead of a chair and it's doing wonders for my lower back / generally just opening up my torso. would def recommend!

PinkPlantCase · 25/02/2021 15:31

@northerngal20 do you have to engage your core to sit on a birth ball? Does it feel like you’re exercising all day or is it more relaxing than that?

@Nesski I love flopping on the sofa Grin

northerngal20 · 25/02/2021 15:42

@PinkPlantCase ooo, i found it a bit tiring the first day or so, so would just do a short amount of time (then switch to the sofa hahah) but i'm already finding (4 days on) it no longer feels like hard work and just really opens up my back/hips/pelvis - which feels so nice on my bump/back as i'm usually such a sloucher!

Is anyone going to attend the virtual Baby Show Live over the weekend? My friends all went when they were pregnant and said they got some really good deals. So might give it a go although I'm still a bit overwhelmed with what to buy!

I am, got a free access all areas pass so thought might as well, hoping for some good discounts!
Suite88 · 25/02/2021 19:50

@PinkPlantCase I've been swapping between my office chair and a yoga ball too like @northerngal20. My back feels so much better in the evenings.

I've been seeing a physio for hip pain and she has given me a couple of exercises I can do on the ball. I try to do those when I have a break or when I'm in a particularly long meeting!

BlondePotter · 25/02/2021 20:42

@Emmie12 @curiouscat1987 I also got a free access all areas pass so I'll drop in and out and see if there's anything interesting in there too

PurpleishDahlia · 27/02/2021 11:57

Hello all! Rejoining you after getting lost between a new thread and a new phone. @waitingforbabypage @AIRRRR I feel like I lost you in the middle of a chat :)
@AIRRR a trilingual family wow, this gives me hope. I'm Greek, husband's English with no patience or talent for languages.

I'm 23+2 today and last night I felt baby move for the very first time (anterior placenta). I am struggling to sleep on my side and I have recurrent thrush but all good otherwise. I haven't done much shopping as half the house is still a construction site.

I'm supposed to be a bridesmaid in August and my phone is beeping all the time with wedding and hen do related chat - trying not to let that stress me too much (and failing).

Enjoying the sunshine and doing some lightweight DIY today. Wishing you all a nice weekend :)

AlRRRR · 27/02/2021 12:47

@PurpleishDahlia Geia sou! Emena sthn athna k kreta yia 1 xronia kai itan polllllllla kala, Nice to meet you! haha

Where in Greece are you from, I won’t speak more Greek so everyone can understand who reads it!

I’m also 23 plus 2 days, and just starting to feel movement when i’m still! For the thrushI found natural organic yoghurt worked best for me! I have a mucus issue where i’m not having a do daily wash outs with salt and bicarb haha as dr wnt do any scans till baby born and i have a recurrent sinus issue but apart from that, all is good!!!

Does your husband speak any greek? Amy x

AlRRRR · 27/02/2021 12:51

@PurpleishDahlia Side also kills my pubic bone and turning over does and I also have an anterior placenta

Lovethatjourneyforme · 27/02/2021 15:45

@PurpleishDahlia I feel you, I've got a hen do and am bridesmaid a week before my EDD, plus another hen do being planned for when baby is 4 months. Little stressful!

swiftt · 27/02/2021 17:18

Anyone get any good deals from the Baby Show Live this weekend?

OP posts:
AlRRRR · 27/02/2021 17:42

@swiftt May I ask what a baby show is? :)

curiouscat1987 · 27/02/2021 17:55

Not me, wasnt particularly impressed by the prices tbh! You?

swiftt · 27/02/2021 17:57

@AlRRRR I think there are usually baby shows that you can attend to see products etc. There have been a few online so far that I’ve seen, Baby Show Live, being one of them which is on this weekend. They had virtual talks and discounts on items. Worth a wee look if nothing else!

AlRRRR · 27/02/2021 18:18

swiftt · 27/02/2021 18:49

@AlRRRR like a dog show but for babies? 😂😂😂 amazing!

@curiouscat1987 no I wasn’t either, I had a quick scroll through but nothing really stood out.

OP posts:
AlRRRR · 27/02/2021 18:59

TerryRose · 27/02/2021 20:10
